BB on Mac OS development

Anyone has any experience of developing applications of BB from a Mac?

I have a MacBook Pro 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo w / 4 GB RAM running VMWare Fusion 2.05 with Win XP Pro SP3.

My v3.4 Eclipse J2EE / Java 6 u16 seems OK but the BB simulators run on the slow side. I didn't run on a completely native install of Win XP so I think only the configuration that I have is slow because the Mac/VMWare stuff.

Seems that thing main lack to be able to do a completely in Mac development is the lack of native simulators. Am I correct here?

If you develop for BB to a Mac OS and have a powerful configuration decently can offer pointers?

Thank you!

The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to use Windows. You said that you have Windows XP on your MacBook. If you want to do development on Mac to read:

http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/Rim/Board/message?board.ID=java_dev&message.ID=7248&query.ID=142...

Just look at the angry rants and you'll find soultions in there.

What could be the problem? The app has not changed, it is the environment.

After that Googling autour, I found the problem had to do with the syntax.

    For example, on:

    http://StackOverflow.com/questions/7110563/GlassFish-v3-cant-deploy-MessageDriven-bean-missing-destination-JNDI-name

I got the same error. The problem was:

    @ActivationConfigProperty (propertyName = "destination", propertyValue = "jms/SampleTopic")

    This need to be

    @ActivationConfigProperty (propertyName = "destination", propertyValue = "SampleTopic")

Can whe´re I set this property?

Whe´re is the configuration file of Glassfish?

Could someone guide me through this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Peter,

    I found the domain.xml file. ~/glassfish4/GlassFish/domains/Domain1/config/domain.XML

In this file, I wasn't able to find anything on the com.sun.appserv. *. packages.

The software allows to work with this default file (on a Mac).

With the asadmin terminal I tried to add custom resources.

And they appear whe. After you restart glassfish no different result.

The application deployment guide https://glassfish.java.net/docs/4.0/application-deployment-guide.pdf mentionned on glassfish ejb - jar.xml and ejb - jar.xml.

I couldn't find these files for version 3.1.

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E26576_01/doc.312/e24929/dd-files.htm#GSDPG00080

But the app was capable on running with the default settings, so without these files.

    What can I check next?

  • CF does not work on my new Mac

Hi all, I just installed the developer version of CF on my power mac g5 and mac pro book.

When I run the launcher CF it says the following (which seems good):
    "
    ColdFusion MX 7 was launched.
ColdFusion MX 7 will have to write logs to the /Applications/ColdFusionMX7/logs/cfserver.log
    "

When I goto this url " http://127.0.0.1:8500/CFIDE/administrator/enter.cfm"... I try to connect and get the 500 'null '.

    I'm puzzled.

I'd like to go on learning CF, but it would be good if I could make it work properly.

Also (I have no experience programming backend... Please go easy on the tech talk :))

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Myles

Myles, as well as Ian notes (my local installation of CF on my Macbook Pro is on port 8300 - localhost:8300), there is a very good set of utilities to start/stop for CFMX 7 on Mac Intel. I know that you have installed on a PowerMac and an Intel Mac, but I've only used the Intel Macs for development.

    CFMXLauncher:
    http://www.Web-relevant.com/blogs/cfObjective/index.cfm?mode=entry&entry=7A6E6DBA-BDB9-532 0-E11FFDA89A81B509

Keep in mind that CFMX 7 is not officially supported on Intel Mac, so it isn't always easy to install and get running - it's not just you :)!

However, the CF8 beta is a snap to install and run (just in case you want to try it as well) on Mac.

    Good luck!

  • Search for files in a folder by date range?

Trying to sort through a few photos in a folder, all confusing to form various phones and cameras and their Photos for Mac app development.

Is there a way to search for specific dates in some way, via a recommended application or something please? I am busy making albums, for example Christmas 2002, 2003 Christmas and if you are looking for the picture files that are in the range say December 20, 2002-January 2, 2003. They are all in different folders for the moment on an external drive, so scattered everywhere.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thank you

If you import the photos into the Photo app, they sort by date.

    Hello ahuang105,

If you are a developer, you cannot act as a user.

This means that you need to test the Apple software throughout each cycle of beta. You need to do this test on a complete ecosystem "burner" - iOS devices, Mac, Apple ID dedicated to the beta test. Along the way, so something that you develop breaks in all of this, you will be able to report a bug to Apple and to develop an alternative solution in case Apple releases with the bug.

In the same time, another complete ecosystem production - Apple ID, Mac and iOS devices all dedicated development of production - needs to stay on the most recent version has no crippling bugs. For El Capitan, your guess is as good as mine what build that can be. 10.11.3 I guess.

For now, I suggest to ask in the developer forums if this bug in particular is fixed in 10.11.5. I have seen engineers Apple recommends this build for Simulator in 10.11.4 problems.

You should be able to disable or remove most modules here:

    Tools > Modules > Extensions

If this does not work, I hope a user Mac can develop on alternative methods.
