BCC: field in Windows Mail

You use Windows Mail on Microsoft Windows Vista SP2 v.6, how do I get the BCC: (blind carbon copy) field to show when I compose an e-mail message?

I answered my own question.

To display the Bcc: field when you compose an e-mail message in Windows Mail, first click on the button create a new message in the menu bar. A new message form will open. In the new Message menu bar, click view, and then select all the headers. The Bcc: field will appear.

In a new message window: view | All the headers. Check it out. Or, simply click on the button to easily add to your contacts list to: To, CC, or BCC.

  • Using groups of Windows Mail contacts without displaying the FIELD email addresses; and without having to use the BCC field?

I want to see all the names of everyone in the group in the TO field: only the names of individuals in the Contact Group and NOT to display their individual addresses alongside their names; and I don't want to use the BCC field (because it will appear all the names). Is this possible?

Unless you have included their address in a part of the field name, the addresses must disappears from view when sending. That said, all they need do is click on transfer, reply to all, or view the message source and they see all the addresses. That's why the BCC option was created. Bruce Hagen

  • Get e-mail addresses to automatically set up in the To: field of a Windows Mail

I'm trying to find how to get the familiar e-mail addresses I type into the To: field for new messages in Windows Mail to automatically mount when I type in the first few letters.

Currently, it doesn't seem to store e-mail addresses, I used for a few days in his memory, regardless of if it is stored in my address book, which means that I am forever having to type the e-mail address in its entirety, or continue to go in the AddressBook to dig up people. It would be much simpler that the system can be affected to recognize my typing more permanently!

    Can anyone help?

I'm not sure you really understand what Shawn said.
These are called "semi-automatic", it's NOT what it really is.
It can ONLY semi-automatic 29 RECENT addresses you had USED.
All other addresses beyond the list of 29 will NOT get auto-compleyed for those who are NOT in the list.
The ONLY way to get these beyond the list of 29 to knock on button, scroll to find the address or type the first letter or 2 in the search box.

You can consider installing Windows Live Mail, which will OFFER a semi-automatic TO your address book.
Windows Live Mail and Windows Mail will co-exist. You don't have to give up one.

Another option would be to use a website based email system, I guess.

Windows Mail blocks certain types of file attachments that are commonly used to spread e-mail viruses, such as files with the following file name extensions: .exe, .pif and .scr files. IfWindows Mail blocks an attachment in an e-mail message, the information bar displays a message letting you know he did and list the attachment that has been blocked.

I know that I need programs such as Word files .doc to open .doc attachments, but above characters fat not yet past.

Open Windows Mail by clicking the Start button, all programs, and then clicking Windows Mail.

Click on the Tools menu and then click Options.

1: you get the message that Windows has blocked access to the attachment, or it does not work? All file extensions or part?

2: tools | Options | Send. The corresponding checkbox is checked? Note that only 29 addresses are remembered. See for more information.

  • Windows Mail (Windows 7) blind sending send copies

In Windows Mail (Windows 7), how can I send a copy of an email to anyone? How can I email blind copies of e-mails to members of a contact group?

You use Windows Live Mail in Win7 or you hack into Windows Mail (Vista) in there?

This is for Outlook Express cutter works with all three e-mail clients although some terms may differ. (e.g. vs. Address Book Contacts list).

To use the functionality of the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy), in a new message window, click View | All headers and type the addresses separated by a; Or: Click the button to. You will see your list of contacts and the choice to put them in the To, CC, or BCC field. Click on an address, and then click BCC to add it. Repeat for all of the contacts you want. You can also make an entry in the address book using your e-mail address, but put something like the mailing list in the area of the display.

    *********************

You can also create groups if you send e-mail to the same people often.

To create a group of contacts:

You can create a single group name (or alias) to use when sending a message to several contacts at the same time. Just create a group name and add individual contacts to the group. Then just type the name of the group in the box for when you send mail.

    1. in the address book, select the folder in which you want to create a group. Click New in the toolbar, and then click New Group.
    2. the Properties dialog box opens. In the group name box, type the name of the group.
    3. There are several ways to add people to the Group:
    a. to add a person from your address book list, click Select members, and then click a name in the address book list.
    (b) to add a person directly to the group without adding the name to your address book, type the person's name and e-mail address at the bottom of the Properties dialog box and then click Add.
to add a person to both the Group and your address book, click New Contact and enter the appropriate information.
    (d) to use a directory service, click Select members, and then click search. Select a directory service in the drop-down list at the end of the text box. After finding and selecting an address, it is automatically added to your address book.
    4. Repeat for each addition until your group is defined.

    Note

    a. to view a list of your groups separately from the list of address book in the address book on the view menu, make sure that folders and groups is selected.

    b. you can create multiple groups, and contacts can belong to several groups.

If you want to send to a group without addresses are displayed for each recipient, open the address book and make a new entry. Enter the name of the group in the area of the display, but use your address. (Some Internet service providers require a legitimate address in the line to and recipients will know it's from the Group).

Click on the button to. Enter the name of the group using your address. Enter the group in the BCC field.

  • I can't change my list of JIU, as only 3 addresses appear in the BCC field

When I look at the BCC list in draft mode, there is an address that I have not entered, and I don't know the person whose address is, but I could not find a way to remove the address, because when I go into edit mode, only the last three addresses I entered are visible on three separate Bcc lines.

In addition, in mode draft, I see that a number of addresses appears twice, because, at the time, I was entering them, I needed to save the work and click the sign-. But when I opened it the first time, because I saw that the first three addresses, I have assumed that I had lost the others, so started coming again. Now I need to delete duplicate addresses, but even once, find no way to do it, because once I'm in don't change only three mode addresses may appear.

    Please can you help me?
    Thank you
    Retro

There is generally enough visible space 3-(Cc/BCC) fields as the automatic display.

When there are multiple e-mail addresses can be established, a scroll bar should appear on the right side.

However, by dragging the bar down reveals more.
Place the cursor on the line and the cursor should change to a double arrow head.
Left click and hold down the key to grab the line, and then drag.

  • The vulnerability is the CC and the fields of e-mail when sending group messages?

I have a friend who is a challenge to me when I advised her to use the BCC field instead of the CC field to send group messages.
I've been in there for years and this was one of the fundamental pieces of advice that we would give users on our network to prevent the spread of the virus and spam and to be perfectly honest, I thought it was a given since e-mail is sent in plaintext and therefore can be analyzed.  The question I have, are vulnerable to what Email address when it is used in the CC field or virus and malware seeks to steal addresses?  Also to throw away spammers as well.

    Thank you, sugi2k.

    Hi sugi2k,

With assistance from the ICC is also how to send group messages, but I do it mainly for individual members of the group do not get to see all addresses of electronic mail to any person to whom I sent the message.  As far as I know, there is no almost difference between using the field or the CC field to send emails (although IAB a little better to hide the address, but it can still be found if you are the recipient or the sender of this JIU).  In general, this isn't how the malware and hackers work.  That's all simply too cumbersome and time-consuming to do by checking the addresses in the individual emails (if it is possible and very difficult to defend against if they can intercept the mail-, but generally found from the account of the recipient and not the sending account and generally because that most people choose to automatically add new senders of e-mail to their list of contacts and this is where the vulnerability usually occurs).

Here is an article on the differences between the BCC and CC: http://email.about.com/od/emailnetiquette/a/cc_and_bcc.htm.  You will notice that it addresses of anonymity than the main on safety (but there are benefits of security regarding anonymity and the inabiility of other recipients to view the BCC recipients).

Most malware and piracy occurs because someone comes to your contact list or address book or see everything simply your email address somewhere (maybe of you sent to someone who has been infected or a real pirate) and uses different techniques to make it look like SPAM and other things they send is from you when you're not actually send anything.  If they arrived at your list of book or contact addresses or someone that you are listed as a contact (probably using another method - I don't think these fields themselves are more susceptible to malware or hacking than anything else on your computer - if they have installed the keystroker malicious software or programs (everything that you type can be made available to them, unless detect you and remove malware or hacking tool), they can send to each of them (probably with an attempt to infect their systems included as well).

In short, while they are not invulnerable, they are as safe as anything else (although IAB will limit the number of people who see the addresses of any group that can help their share where you don't know if they have been compromised) on your system.  The real problem with the e-mails is not sending them, but to receive for having "a surprise" with her that compromise your system and allows a person access to your contacts or address book - but they will not often also for entries in the messages sent and if they do, then the entries to one of these fields on your computer If it has been compromised is possible (not only e-mails but documents and about anything).

If you are concerned that these things, use a program to encrypt messages and require recipients to have a decryption code to open.  It can still be broken by a pirate, but is much more difficult and requires a much more sophisticated hacker.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
