BDP S5100 wireless

I have reset the player to try to solve a problem with my audio HDMI and some how the player no longer recognizes it has wireless built in.  When I try to connect wirelessly it tells me that it does not detect the USB wireless LAN device and make sure the device is connected. I disconnected everything and tried to do a reset to factory, but with the same results.  It will connect is more wireless.  No guarantee b/c that I bought used from a site online.

Don't initialize any personal information.

1. on the remote, press the HOME button.
2. go to settings.
3. under settings, select Reset.
4 reset, select initialize personal information.

If the problem persists after performing the above steps, try resetting the player to factory default settings again.

A Factory Reset.
1. to support the remote control, press the Home button.
2. go to settings.
3. under settings, select Reset.
4 4 remise back to zero, select Reset to Factory Default Settings.
5. Select all settings.
6. If the drive turns off after the reset, just turn it on and the Easy Setup appears on the screen. But if the player does not go out only to return to the Setup Menu then go to Easy Setup. Just follow the guests on the screen to complete the initial installation of the player.

The cable seems fine.  After several versions of "turn it on again", including disconnect them the HDMI cable and power sources in orders different, still no go.  We just reconnected the older Blu - Ray player and it works fine.

  • Audio settings on Sony BDP-S5100

I just bought this Sony BDP-S5100 and I can't seem to get the audio settings to preform properly. OK, I have 3 blu - ray discs. #1 plays ok, #2, no noise and #3 play, but a narrator with the voice actors?

I changed the setting auto for PCM and I got to have the sound of disc 2, but #3 still has the same problem?

Who am I screwing up... or is it maybe the drive itself?

I have a HDMI to my TV and my sound bar digital cable and ethernet to netflix. They work very well.

Thanks in advance for anyone to help.

    Pat

    Hello

Thank you. Go ahead with your comments, the PCM is the conventional method for audio conversion analog to digital audio. Audio PCM engraved on the disc is a digital camera 2 channels, a stereo audio track and together your Blu - ray to PCM player's outputs signals PCM from the DIGITAL OUT (COAXIAL) / HDMI OUT jack in your output such as your Soundbar devices and your TV.

  • Cannot connect to mlb.tv with sony BDP-S5100

    Hi guys,.

Simply, this has started to happen Friday, May 9, 2014 (it worked fine for months until now).  When I select MLB.tv to the homepage. He tries to connect but all is see on my screen is a circle of white dots that keeps circling away forever.  I can't stop it and I can't yet go home from there.  Literally, I have to unplug my OTP unit to get out of this State.  I noticed the connection to SEN did the same thing.  He's going to try forever.

Netflix works great also.  I checked the settings of my network and internet several times and they are all good.

I use unlock us since I live in canada, but that has worked well for several months...

Also, my Samsung blue Player connects to MLB.tv on my account very well, so this isn't my account with mlb or something like that.  That would use we unlock so my account should be good.

This seems to be a matter of sony.  Help, please

Me again... I thought that to put an update to other users.

Good news.  I got it to work...

    (1) I unplugged the unit for 2 minutes

    (2) I then did a reset to factory of all attributes.  Make sure you do all, not only the network settings.  I believe that this issue has something to do with another parameter.

    (3) I have set up the network again.

    (4) I returned and selected the application of mlb and he asked me for my login again information.

    (5) then it worked fine

    It took about 5 minutes.

  • Reading random/random - server(BDP-S5100) to a DLNA

I've seen a lot of posts about random/random playback function, but nothing seems to indicate that this function can be added through a firmware update. It is even possible to add this feature via firmware or we are out of luck because it does not support HW?

Unfortunately, we have no access to information about the features that can be added in future updates. However, you can still visit our Esupport here site to check the benefits of your Blu - ray player software was last updated.

  • Failed to connect to Server Provisioning OTP-S5100

Netflix and other internet applications worked fine on my BDP-S5100 player this month... but when I tried to connect last night, I received a message "a network error occurred." When I checked the system information, I got the dreaded "Provisioning Server Connection Status: failed" message.

    Software version: M15. R.0179

    Device ID: B0:00:02:48:C6:F6

    LINK connection status: successful

    Provisioning Server Connection Status: failed

    ESN: SONY013BDBKL000595Z91Z8JZXY0YKDH

Netwrok connection status shows that I am connected through my Wi - Fi network.

I poured on the forums and none of the proposed solutions to this problem have helped (reset the player to the factory setting, disconnected the drive, etc.). I only managed to destroy the list of compatible services internet. It does not connect even to check if there is an update of the firmware ("Connection status cannot be confirmed. Unable to communicate with the server. Please try again later. »). Also, I restarted the modem and the wireless router, nothing helps.

Funny, it is... I have this same exact player in my room and that you connect very well to the content of the internet (Netflix, etc.).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

I see that your firmware is not updated.  Please update M15. R.0197, you can follow the instructions on the tab drivers & software http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=BDPS5100 of eSupport site.

Many times you can not broadcast specific content without going through the most recent firmware.

    Thank you

  • How did you configure the OTP-S5100 to ignore a NET connection?

We bought the Blu - ray Sony BDP-S5100 player for playing discs - do not connect to Netflix, or any other service online. Looked in the manual and configuration settings I can't find a way to say to ignore - and stop trying to connect to-in home wireless LAN. This adds unnecessary items to the MAIN menu, it slows down the cycle ON / OFF, and, worse, the machine insists on leaving the word 'NET' on the screen, rather than numbers of meter by the game disc. The only way to clear it is to return the HOME page, and then press PLAY again once.

Is it possible to configure this machine to ignore the NET?

    Thank you.

    dlampel

Thanks, SamT, for your response. The reason why I did not "Accept [ed this] as a Solution" is that the options you mentioned after the restart were not there, in particular,

"8 perform an EASY INSTALL and select DO NOT ALLOW INTERNET CONNECTION (in step 4)."

There was no menu selection everywhere to say he cannot do not Internet connection. However, I performed steps 1 to 7 and then made a point to avoid the Net menu selections. Now, it seems is not to search for the connection and all mentions of him flies by without pause. So, it's better than before.

    Thank you.

  • Not play disc Blu - ray 3D OTP-S5100, stuck on the screen indicating the needs a 3D player.

I just bought a Blu - ray BDP-S5100 3D player.  I have Panasonic 3D plasma TV.  When I tried to play a Blu - ray 3D disc, a blue screen telling me, in several languages, the drive requires a 3D player came and it never happened.  The player plays a normal Blu - ray disc very well.  I have all the other drives 3D or 3D drive (this is my first entry in Blu - ray and 3D), so I can't test to see if the problem is with the drive or disc.  Anyone seen this before?  Is there something I can do to get the drive to read, or is it a fatal error?  Thank you!

I just realized what is the problem.  My Blu - ray player is passing through my receiver and then goes to my TV.  I guess that prevents the appropriate signal to spend, so the 3D player does not recognize or cannot connect properly to the 3D TV.  I just plugged the S5100 directly to my TV and the 3D disk plays very well.  I used a digital audio coaxial cable the S5100 in my tuner so now I surround again.

  • Menu line "Media Remote Device Registration" away to the M15 version. R.163 under "network settings."

When I scroll under "NetworkSettings" I can't find the menu line: "Media Remote Device Registration.

I use a BDP-S5100 and can play music, videos, etc. from my wireless Z30 or PC by using the RMT-B119A remote console.  When I try to do the same thing using the apps: "Media Remote" or "TV Sideview" on my Z30, I can't add my Blue-ray player because I was not able to record due to the "missing menu line" (?).

When I check the line: "Inscrit remote devices", it shows: "there are no registered devices.

Any ideas? Do I need to have a Sony television connected to the OTP to make this line of menu "appear"?

I tried to reset my OTP and started setting up again but no luck.

Using Miracast to play videos, music and photos worked great in dynamic mode, but I couldn't establish a stationary Miracast that would broadcast to tell You-tube movies. Is there something in the Protocol of Sony Miracast missing (?). If I try the same configuration on a Viewsonic WPG - 370 everything works OK.

    Any ideas here too?

    Otherwise, the BDP-S5100 is awesome.

Yes, you must connect the BDP-S5100 to TV before installing SideView TV App. Please click here for more information.
