I have this Blu Ray hooked up to a Yamaha A / V receiver with only 2 speakers. I'm confused as the audio to use parameters. Can someone tell me who is good or bad?

Audio (HDMI) - Auto or PCM

Output DSD moden or off

Mix Audio BDff or

Dolby Digital: Bitstream or downmix PCM?

DTS Neo 6ff or cinema

Audio DRCff on, or auto

Downmixurround or stereo?

Hi Larry! Default settings are optimal settings. In case you want to adjust, it would depend on your hearing preferences.

  • OTP-S390 - issues with Amazon instant video bonus?

For 2 weeks now, I think that after the update to the newest firmware, I have massive problems play via the video player Sony Bluray with Amazon premium instant stuff.

I did some troubleshooting and I came to the conclusion that it is either the cable going to the focus in my cable modem or the drive itself.

I can read the same videos very well without any problems on my computer on the same internet connection which provides the connectivity of Bluray player.

The real problem is I'll watch a show, in this case, Fringe season 2 in HD - and it stops just at random play. I can stop and start from where I left and it will either work or it won't. But I can go right to my PC and launch an episode and watch it completely thorugh without problem.

It's going to be a fix for this anytime soon? Is anyone else having problems?

    Hi Chris,

Welcome to the community of Sony!

Make sure that this latest firmware update has been installed in the Blu - ray player, because it can improve the performance of the Internet functions. You can find information about the last update of firmware in the Sub page:

Also, try the steps on the below technical support article:

In addition, this problem has been reported to occur with certain movies from Amazon Video on demand (VOD) that are more than 202 minutes in length. Movies stop playback after 202 minutes. According to Amazon, the problem is caused by the way that video content is encoded. Amazon is being contained affected re-encoding.

If the problem persists, try to remove the link and reprint of the Amazon of the Blu - ray player links. Steps are mentioned on the technical support article below:

  • Netflix streaming issue with bdp s390

I'm quite frustrated and if I can't get this resolved I'll resume the player and get another brand.  I just bought this drive a few days ago.  I'm not having any problems at all except with netflix streaming.  Vudo youtube and hula and all the rest is fine for streaming.  I can stream netflix on my Wii with no problem at all.   We constant starts and stops, sometimes stuck on the loading and then screen when I return to resume, the movie does not start where he stopped.  What is happening on all the movies that I watch on netflix.

I have a 8.0 Mbps connection optical fiber, which is stable, no problems that I know and the speed tests indicate that it is as it should be, stable and consistent.

Blu Ray is connected through my linksys router wireless.  After moving my router around the signal is now 100% constantly.  I called netflix and they gave me a convenience store that involved the reset of the Blu - Ray and disabling netflix player and I have already reset my router several times.  I removed the security on my router, I fiddled with the settings recommended in your help.  I always have the same question.  Wired is not really an option because that would defeat the purpose of having a wireless router and once again my signal strength is 100%.

I read on this forum and others that sony netflix roads through your servers, is it true?

Please notify until I have this box thing up and send it back.

    Thank you.

Add on... I called my ISP, had them looking for problems with my connection.  They claim that I have a solid connection 8.0 with no losses, no fluctuation in speed at all.  They he followed for more than 2 hours.

    Hi Bonita,

Internet connection speed minimum of 2.5 Mbps or greater is required for streaming of videos from standard definition (SD) and 10 Mbps or higher is required for high definition (HD) videos.

Reset you the player by selecting the reset of settings in the Player menu option?

  • Content acquisition Internet problem with OTP-S390

I recently bought a BDP - S390 Internet Blu - ray player. I'm unable to access Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, YouTube, etc. The player exceeded all by performing the ' absorbing Internet content...» (3/3) "step which is necessary to obtain a registration code to enable internet video services. Customer support says it's the result of my slow internet connection, which is ridiculous because the iPhone 4 in my household have no problem in streaming + Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, and Youtube. The player can access the internet. I have verified this by navigating with success on the web and run the network diagnostics which showed the link was 'OK '. Anyone know of a possible solution for this problem?

    Hello Michael,

If you have access to video services like Hulu, Pandora, Internet then you should not register the player in the Web Essentials My Sony site.

Test the speed of the Internet being used from the link below.

    http://www.KB.Sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C1013044

Internet connection speed minimum of 2.5 Mbps or greater is required for the standard definition (SD) programming and 10 Mbps or higher is required for programming in high definition (HD).

Internet high speed may be affected, if others in the House use a computer to view movies, perform large downloads or play games online.

Update the Firmware from the link below:

    http://eSupport.Sony.com/us/p/model-home.pl?MDL=BDPS390&template_id=1&Region_ID=1&tab=download#/down...

Reset the modem or cable router by unplugging the power cord from the electrical outlet for 1 minute.

Do a factory reset for 3 times:

    1) press button on the supplied remote control.

    (2) select settings (brief case icon).

    (3) select Reset.

    (4) select Reset to Factory Default Settings.

Configure network manually from the link below:
