Before you print, you must select a printer

When I print from ASP.NET or Silverlight 4 code, I get the error dialog box that starts "before printing, you can select a printer.  Everything in the print dialog box is disabled, except for the Cancel button.  This problem will not occur when you print from Microsoft Office applications or Internet Explorer.

According to several Internet stations, the problem is specific to Windows Vista 64-bit.  However, I have not seen a solution.  Is this one?

This problem has been resolved by installing Windows Vista Service Pack 2.

  • Why the app for iOS is not a 'back' button? You must select the House then my documents all the time just to open another form of file in this folder. If there is a back button that would save a lot of time for iOS users.

    Hello

Comes from Acrobat Reader for iOS 15.1.0 version which includes support for a previous button in the top bar.

Do you want to give it a try and tell us what you think?

    Thank you.

  • Many of our users cannot open PDF files.  You must select the player as the default PDF Manager once a day.

What was once a rare problem, became a chronic problem, because some changes to group policy by an administrator of AD.  We have disabled all GPs that relate to Acrobat, but we'll still have to connect to workstations users to remember that it is the default manager of PDF in Acrobat Reader (found under Edit > Preferences > General.)

As I mentioned above, this was happening from time to time, and I don't really know why.  We use 9.5, X and XI versions, and each of them have exposed this problem in the past and currently.  If we could find a whole network solution to this question (rather than having to connect to dozens of individual work stations every day), we would be really happy.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

We believe that we have found the answer.  Apparently an admin six years ago had created a batch file named ironically called 'Adobe Fix.bat', who calls a login script to set the following registry key on each computer:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe]

    "@="\"C:\\Program Files\\Adobe\\Reader 8.0\\Reader\\AcroRd32.exe\"

Since C:\\Program Files\\Adobe\\Reader 8.0\\Reader\\AcroRd32.exe no longer exists on any computer, no PDF files would be the load until you said Acrobat what software to use to open.

Remove this script should solve the problem.

  • Player Windows 10 DC - before you can perform related tasks such as page layout printing or print a document, you must install a printer

    Hello

We had a problem at my organization with our windows 10 machines where they print not Adobe Reader DC.  When you click on the 'Print' button, we get the message:

Before you can perform related tasks like layout or print a document, you need to install a printer.  The printer itself doesn't have a printing problems to any other type of document. except .pdf (which is associated with Acrobat Reader DC.)

I did a search on the forum and see that this is a common problem and I tried all of the suggested fixes (select a new printer by default, restart the spooler service, delete the files in the directories of the spooler, upgrade to the latest version of Acrobat Reader DC etc.).

Have one or know a solution for this?  Versions provided below etc.:

    Windows version: 10.10586.0001

    Adobe Acrobat Reader DC: 15.007.20033

Version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Update: 15.016.20045

Print driver: HP Universal PCL 6 (v6.2.1) printing

    Thanks in advance!

Forgive me, please follow the steps that are given below:

Also try printing to the Adobe PDF format, to do > click Print > select Adobe PDF in the print dialog box.

I have two printers Epson installed on a network (I tried cable but it doesn't help). Both printers work with other programs and drivers are up to date.

If this is a network printer when you install the network printer on each of your windows machine Windows will install the device drivers for this printer, in addition to install the network printer.

You should see the printer in your control panel of machine devices and printers.  You can see I even set my default printer machine to my HP Envy and my Photo printer is on my old machine via the network on my old ther Dell XPS9100 there is no physical printer on my Dell T5600 workstation.

  • There was an error in the opening of your printer. Print functions will be unavailable until you have selected a printer and reopened all documents. Error message in PhotoShop CC

  • what I have to write the serial number. before you download a driver for my printer?

What is the serial number helped and I have to write down it before you download a driver for my printer?

I have my printer and I want to download the driver that is related to my printer, I searched but did not find where I can write the serial number to reduce the possibilities of the wrong driver.

There were also 3 options after that I named my printer:

    1. HP Officejet 4500 all-in-One Printer - G510g

    2. HP Officejet 4500 all-in-One printer - G510a

    3. HP Officejet 4500 Wireless all-in-One Printer - G510n

    I don't know what I should choose.

    Best regards

So, you can use the Installation Wizard of HP printer if your using Windows 7, 8 or 8.1.

If you have any of the above operating systems, connect the printer to your PC via the USB port or connect it to your network.

Then run the next tool that will detect your connected printer and download the correct driver for it:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&LC=en&JumpID=ex_r4155/HHO/IPG/ccdoc/PIW/&softwareitem=MP-122330-1

If you have any other operating system, please specify your printer model exactly as shown previously.

    Kind regards

  • "To install the software, you must log on as a member of the Administrators group" when you try to install the printer software

    Original title: Installation software error

I am trying to install a wireless printer Canon on my new laptop Dell with Windows 8 but I get error: to install the software, you must log on as a member of the Administrators group.  I'm naïve - I'm the only person who uses this laptop and have used the one and the only password for the connection.

    Solution... for me at least:

(First of all, copy the installer to a flash drive)  I use Windows 7 Enterprise and have tried many combinations to run the installation program. The bit end who works is to restart the computer, connect to the machine as an administrator or another local user on the computer that is part of the local Administrators group, THEN Rclick Installer and run as administrator.

  • Another installation is in progress; You must complete this setup before it--NO other installation IS in progress and using Windows 8.

Some plug-ins must be updated. When I click on "update now" and download the update, I get a message "another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one. "I use Windows 8. There is NOTHING else being downloaded at the moment. I rebooted and it does not help this happened for several days.

Plug-ins that I try to put up-to-date are QuickTime and Google Earth. Also, I was unable to update my printer software.

I need simple instructions on how to correct her. I searched and see that this has been one problem for others but can't find a simple solution that is well beyond my knowledge base.

Found the solution on my own. If this happens to you, I open the troubleshooting Windows Update (Windows 8), and corrected the problem in order for me to update all plug-ins. Rebooted and everything was fine!
