Web coding on Vista 64-bit-specific: to print, you must select a printer

When I print from ASP.NET or Silverlight 4 code, I get the error dialog box that starts "before printing, you can select a printer.  Everything in the print dialog box is disabled, except for the Cancel button.  This problem will not occur when you print from Microsoft Office applications or Internet Explorer.

According to several Internet stations, the problem is specific to Windows Vista 64-bit.  However, I have not seen a solution.  Is this one?

This problem has been resolved by installing Windows Vista Service Pack 2.

Can a T61 with a platform Santa Rosa running Vista 64-bit, or do you need a Penryn platform?

I learned that the Santa Rosa platform can't handle Vista 64-bit.

    Thank you!

    Hi Luke,.

Any Core 2 Duo processor is capable of processing 64-bit, which includes Merom CPU (T7xxx) and the newest Penryn processors (T8xxx & T9xxx).

The platform that you are talking about is the motherboard chipset (or cycle in terms of manufacturing). "Santa Rosa" is simply a name given to a particular generation of motherboard chipset. In this case, Santa Rosa is the fourth in a generation (or cycles) chipsets that were introduced by Intel in mid-2007. This platform supports the Merom and Penryn processors and CPUs support 64 - bit addressing OS indeed.

    I hope this helps!

  • Web Cam and Vista 64-bit

My pc running Vista 64 bit does not start until the sex cam plugged USB is unplugged. Once Vista is running that I plug the webcam, the driver is loaded and everything works OK. I agree that it is without great effort by unplugging the web cam, but anyone have an idea as to the reason? I used this webcam on Vista 32 bit with no problems.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Now I gave up my quest. I accept the fact that my web cam can be connected until after the pc has been started. Is there something in the bios that seems to only detect cam and webcam sex and decided to stop. I tried all the tips suggested without success. I think that the customer service at HP guys can know more they say. When the problem has been given to them they responded immediately by blaming Vista 64-bit. The impression I got was that it was, for them, a common problem. I have Windows 7 on a second HD on my pc and the same problem exists. The common factor is the bios on the pc.

  • Windows Vista 32-bit. The printer HP Deskjet 3420 (3600 series) will not work.

    Hello

I tried to install drivers several times, and they all install. When I plug in my printer to the computer recognizes the printer, and it seems that the printer works. But as soon as I try to print a test page, it does not work. I think it may have something to do with the configuration of the printer driver. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you

To do this, go to problems with printing and printing errors on the Microsoft Web site and then click Run now.

    Method 2.
Clear printer spooler files and activate the spooler service

    a. Click Start, type "Services.msc" (without the quotation marks) in the Open box and click OK.
    b. double click on "Printer Spooler" in the Services list.
    c. click on stop, and then click OK.
    d. Click Start, type "% WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers" in the opened window and delete all the files in this folder.

    Step B
You must be logged on as administrator to perform these steps.
    a. open administrative tools by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type administrative tools, and then click Administrative Tools.
    b. double-click on Services.   If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    c. right-click on the print spooler service and then click Properties.
    d. on the general tab, next to startup type, make sure that automatic is selected.
    f. e. the service is not already running, under Service status, click Start and then click OK.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • Can I upgrade Windows Vista 32-bit to Windows Vista 64 - Bit and preserve everything?

I have a computer with Windows Vista 32 - Bit OS.  I have also 4 GB of RAM, but as the OS is 32-bit, he acknowledges that 3 out of 4 GB.  So, my question is, can I upgrade to a version 64 bit Vista and preserve files and programs, or what I have to buy a copy of Windows Vista 64-bit?

    Thank you

    Hello.

No.; You cannot switch from 32-bit to 64-bit.

It must be done with a new installation of the 64-bit operating system.

There has never been a way to upgrade.

You should backup your data, copy it into the 64 bit OS and reinstall all your programs

    Microsoft sells more than Vista.

And before you buy Windows 7:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=20

Check if your specifications are compatible for Windows 7:

    "Windows 7 system requirements"

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/system-requirements

"Windows 7 Compatibility Center" for software and hardware:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

And the Microsoft Store where you can get an idea of the price of Windows 7:

  • How can I download for my sony dcr-dvd403 pmb to windows vista 36 bit

looking for software for downaloda pmb for windows vista for sony dcr dvd403 handycam

looking for software for downaloda pmb for windows vista for sony dcr dvd403 handycam

You have Windows Vista 32-bit and a Sony DCR-DVD403 with LCD 2.7 "...

According to the Windows Vista for Sony DCR-DVD403 Compatibility Center the device itself is compatible without any intervention on your part.  Support for any third party hardware or software is always from the hardware manufacturer or software.  It is their place to ensure that their hardware and software are compatible with the operating systems their customers use (or not to do - put an end to their support for said product and basically stating that produced a legacy package/device).

Visit Sony support web page and put in your camera model after you have selected the option for downloads, it takes a place where you can select various downloads.  Simply choose 'Windows Vista' in the menu drop-down "Select an Operating System.  Then it expans show several possible downloads to support this device in Windows Vista, including updates of Picture Motion Browser and Picture Package Sony feeding with their products.  Here are a few updates - so you will need to have a version already installed.

Notes for the Motion Picture Browser declares, "this utility updates PMB versions 1.1 to 5.8.01 and Cyber-shot Viewer version 1.0, PMB version 5.8.02..."- so I think it is reasonable to assume that, as long as you have an installed version (from the CD that came with your camera), you can use this update to bring it up to State fully patched.  Sony offers a link if you need to buy replacement CD for those that you should have received with your product.  Wow - 30 USD - they are proud of their software.  You may have more luck that many others in the research that a download legitimate to PMB is that you do not have your original CD...

  • Need USB drivers for old Equium L40 - 10U PSL41E running Vista 32-bit

    Hi all

I think that my USB driver is corrupted. I found the ChipSet, LAN and BIOS drivers for my old PSL41E Equium L40 - 10U running Vista 32 bit. However, I have not found the USB drives I need. USB drivers are contained in the ChipSet, BIOS or LAN driver?

If not, where can I find and download the USB drivers for my old old Equium L40 - 10U PSL41E running Vista 32 bit?

    Thank you! -Le Cannet

Here is where I found the drivers (but with no mention of USB drivers):

    > Are contained in the ChipSet, BIOS or LAN USB drivers driver?

USB drivers are part of the Windows operating system.
The USB ports should work after the installation of the Windows operating system and, therefore, there is no such thing as a USB driver for the USB 2.0 standard.

In addition, the chipset driver must be installed.

I checked the proposed link in your ad and here, you can download the Intel chipset utility.
The update of the BIOS is also available

  • Portege M400: Where to find Windows Vista 64-bit

    Hello!

I've owned a Portege M400 for a period of 3-4 months now, and I wonder if there is even one person out there who managed to get this laptop computer working under vista 64-bit.

I finally got bluetooth drivers to work, after the arrival of drivers available. But the following list does not work or I have not found drivers that work.

    -The buttons below the LCD
-Accelometer (and all the utilities like screen rotation or to do something about tilting machine)
HARD disk utility - protection (I installed Vista drivers, but they totally destroyed the machine and I had to restore system did not start after the installation of windows)
    -Fingerprint reader

And I could live if I couldn't get buttons and accelometer to work, but still it would be great that the computer laptop everything would work.

I'm starting to lose hope and I am already planning to install pirate Vista 32 bit in this laptop... Because it seems that it was a mistake to buy 64-bit ultimate. Some drivers Toshibas indicates they are pilots 'vista', but they do not yet work with the 64-bit version, which has little frustrating...

In any case if someone could help me I would appreciate it a lot! Because I'm getting slowly frustrated with this problem with vista 64-bit.

    Thanks in advance

I really understand you, but there is nothing to see! Toshiba Vista 64-bit drivers are not available on the Toshiba page. Nothing!

Of course, you can use a Vista 64 bit on laptops, but you will get not all 64-bit drivers. Maybe more later but not at this time!

So either you will switch back to Vista 32 bit or you need to use this notebook without 64-bit drivers. But this is not recommended

    Hello

    > I just bought a laptop, Toshiba Satellite L300-1 year and I intend to install Vista 64 - bit OS but I did not find the drivers for Vista 64-bit (only for 32-bit Vista). Can you help me with information or links?

As already suggested in this forum the Vista 64 bit drivers are not available for all Toshiba laptops.
What you can do is to search on different websites for these drivers for Vista 64-bit.
For example, you can search on the page Intel or Realtek.

Chip manufacturers should provide 64-bit drivers too.

    > Another question (I'm not an expert): my laptop has 4 GB of RAM and a couple guys told me that only a 64 bit OS can use all my 4 GB of RAM. Is this true?
The 32-bit OS no matter if it s Vista or XP would recognize only 3.2 GB of RAM.
Only the 64 bit OS can see 4 GB of RAM or more

  • Vista 64 bit on Satellite Pro L40

I installed Vista Ultimate 64-bit on my Satellite pro L40 and I downloaded all the necessary drivers for this OS, but I can't use the FN keys and volume on my keyboard.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why they won't work, I had Vista Home Basic on the machine before and they worked very well.

The FN and the other keys work fine it's just the sound that does not work.

    Hello

I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and there are not many Vista 64-bit drivers for this unit L40. Your FN buttons don t work because you didn t install the driver necessary or tool that controls this feature.

I found a tool called Hotkey Utility, which was published in the Vista 32 bit driver section.
You can try to install it on your Vista 64 bit version, but to be honest I m nit sure if it will work
If she will not run, then you must use Vista 64-bit without the functionality of the FN button.

  • Vista 64 bit need drivers for Tecra A8

Mine is a Tecra A8 [PTA83E] and I was looking for 64 bit Vista drivers, but I couldn't find anything that made me wonder dose my Tecra supports a 64-bit operating system and if so where can I find the drivers I need?

    Hello

I agree with the user above the Tecra A8 Vista 64-bit drivers are not available at this time on the page of the driver and it s not know for me if the drivers will be released in the future.

However, I noticed that Toshiba has released drivers Vista 64 bit for another series of portable so maybe you shouldn't t give up. ;)

But I would also not recommend install the 64-bit version of Vista... the fact is that the 32-bit version is more rolling and not all 3rd party applications run and support the Vista 64-bit.

  • Toshiba Dynadock PA3542E-2PRP drivers for Vista 64 bit

    Hello

I bought a new Toshiba Dynadock PA3542E-2PRP, and I have Windows Vista 64 bit installed on my laptop.
The dose of CD does not install drivers because there is no Vista 64-bit drivers on the CD...

    Can someone help me?

    Hello

I checked the page European driver Toshiba and there are the drivers and software for Win XP and Win Vista. There is no special driver 64 bit Vista.
My opinion on the reasons why 64-bit drivers are missing, which is the Dynadock for Vista 32 bit software software should work on Vista 64-bit.

Have you tried to install the 32 bit Vista software?
    Check it!

  • Headphone plugin does not work usign Vista 64 bit on Satellite P300 - 1 CD

As the sound of my computer becomes boring for the people around me, I tend to use a headset.

After formatting my system and Vista64 installation, everything seemed to work fine, except display drivers I had to manually install, other drivers seem OK.

Audio in the work also. But if I have the headset plugin, nothing happens.

The sound must be in the helmet, but it is still on the speakers. I googled the problem - no luck, I tried drivers 64-bit conexant - no luck.

    Help, please.

    Hello Nejc

Sorry, but you didn't write what model of laptop you have exactly.
Your model of laptop is supported for Vista 64 bit?

Are you using the correct port on your laptop? Make sure you use the right one. In my view, that it must be the first on the right side.

  • Satellite A300: Vista 64 bits after the new installation by using the recovery disk

I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 A300 / M00 and when I got it, it had Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit. But after awhile, I started to have problems so I decided to reinstall Vista on my laptop. After crossing with the product recovery media, my system become so 64-bit.

Was not my system suppose to have 32-bit when it was originally with her?
If no, then how can I install 32 bit once more on my laptop like 64-bit gives me problems with the installation of some of my programs.

If I need to buy a copy of Vista 32 Bit, where can I find the drivers for my system, because the product recovery media has all the drivers on this subject.

    Thank you for your time.

Hmm. Your ad is a little confusing.

Why would you say that Toshiba Recovery disk contains a version of Vista 64-bit?
    How did you check that?
From my experience, the Toshiba recovery disc still contains the preinstalled operating system.

Also as much as I know the new notebook from Toshiba are not delivered with the recovery disk, but with a HARD drive recovery option.
This option allows you to reinstall the OS from the second partition of HARD drive recovery.
Alternatively, you can use the preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator software to create the own recovery DVDs! And this recovery disk contains the same preinstalled OS!

    Good bye
