best backup strategy for the hotel management system
HelloI have a fresh dba and I need to set a backup strategy for a HOTEL of Mr. must be available 24/7.
Kindly help me and let me know if you need additional information.
In your case the most appropriate b/s is with Rman. For this, you need to enable the database to archivelog mode. Each time, you need to copy past files archivelog (and rman full backup of database if you wish) generated after that full backup rman was made. Realize you must have as a minimum a full backup rman, all archivelogfiles has been generated since that time.
There is also another way to take backup: hot backup. (read more in documentation Ora). But be aware that this will affect database performance while the backup is taken. And it would be a little more difficult for you.
But if you're not allowed to activate mode archive so the only way is to take the datapump files each time.

VMware - SAN verses server for the guest operating system
We set up our VMware environment 4 years ago and want to replace the hardware and upgrade to VSphere. We are now part of a large organization and they are questioning our original facility regarding using a San to host Windows Server guests in this environment. They believe that a San is only for storage and VMware customers have to live on a server. I'm looking for confirmation that we use "best practices" by having the OS guest systems on a San, rather than a server. I'd really like something VMware that says to use a SAN and why. It's our Installer; We have 4 servers ESX 3.5 with dual processors core quad, 32 GB of ram and quad port network adapters. The ESX servers connected to the SAN via redundant fiber via HABs connections. The SAN has 6 TB of storage space and we accommodate 24 people from Windows 2003. I say that we have this right and they say I should welcome the guests on a server and not a SAN. My point is why are in charge of the server OS and everything that comes with it as patching and antivirus and multiple HBA when I can get a SAN form HP at equal or lower cost. I just need help to make my case.
Shared storage is a requirement for features such as vMotion, DRS, and HA.
It is certainly having a guest on local storage, but what happens if you have a question of host or need maintenance? If you use a shared storage and you need to host maintenance you can simply vMotion the VMS to another host and there is no interruption of service. Without shared storage log off the virtual machines or need to spend downtime to migrate them to another host. If a host goes down, your VM on local storage is down until the host is repaired. With HA and a shared storage, another host will reboot the virtual machine and it will be online in a few minutes.

Working with Windows 7. I'm trying to move files to other readers. . What is the work around whan "" the file is too large for the destination file system"is the error messages. Can it be fixed so you can move the files
Either there is not enough space on the destination or the size of the file is larger than the destination system can accept, for example FAT32 cannot have a file size more than 4 GB.

I bought a new laptop which has Windows 8. I heard that Windows 8 is new, it only is not automatically provided some 'things' - forgive me for my lack of knowledge in technology. I intend to play games on my new laptop, but according to my knowledge, Windows 8 does not support things like Visual C++ and Directx 9. I am very uncertain about this subject, however. If anyone understands this as am I mean, can you please correct and/or explain more on this topic? I would like to have the best possible experience for the games on my laptop and I want to download everything that is necessary for the performance of the games.
Original title: what's missing in Windows 8?
Jack
We were all new at one point, so don't worry what you know. Win 8 is compatible with all previous OS. It supports C++, and depends on your video card supports DIrectX 9, 10 and 11.
The only thing that doesn't come with win 8 (and since you bought it, it may already be installed) is windows media player.
What exactly are you trying to do, or can you give us more information for we can help you better?

Is there a default value for the color management in PSE10? Beautiful photos from iPhoto, but blur with elements. I need help with this before as I consider that the upgrade to PSE13 and beyond.
Printing which forms an angle seems ok, but one that is horizontally seems faded, incomplete.
I was wondering if I saved a layer somewhere and set it as a default value.
If you group the layers, you will be left with a single layer, thus spreading your concern.
Suggest that you do the following:
- Make sure you have the latest drivers for your printers
- Reset the default preferences.
Hold the Alt, Ctrl + Shift keys when you click the icon to open the items. When asked if you want to delete the settings file, say Yes.
Items nearby and let regenerate the file.

If you really want to use it for installation, you will need to extract the driver from the VMware Tools ISO and add it to a disk image.

Security for the EPM Essbase system backup
Hi all, I am using Essbase in mode security EPM system 11.1.2. I create users and groups of SSP and create filters in EA.
In the documentation, it is said in order to safeguard information security, at the same time, I need to save file security Essbase (* dry file) and shared services. What is the best way to achieve / what files exactly what should I back up? I checked the "Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System backup and Recovery Guide", but I could not know in what role information files user and group are stored.
Thank you very much.If we are just talking about security and then picking up a return of the Foundation relational database and essbase s file should suffice.
See you soon

Strategy for the appropriate charging MacOS, MacPro 2008 3.0
I recently bought a MacPro in early 2008 (3.0 Ghz) at a sale of surplus.
The hard drive has been wiped, and no installation of MacOS disks have been included; So I need to use software to run it.
What is my best strategy for loading software for this machine? Is there some version of Mac OS that I need to load at the beginning?
When I start the mac and now pressed the keys command + R, it seems to be an accessible partition, named "System of Base of Mac OS X" in the disk1 directory. Is this some kind of way to re-install some version of the operating system?
Thank you
JeffroBro
P.S. I also bought a 2009 MacPro 2.66 Ghz with a similar situation (erased the hard drive, no software disc). What is my best approach to the MacOS for this loading machine? Thank you.

How to fix a sound problem - reading devices no. for the Device Manager on WinXP SP3?
(1) I can't to Device Manager by following the guide for help on my system. The steps do not match what is actually showing me my Windows and I can not here the only way I can get to it is to use a link on the help page directly. Even when I do that, the steps in the help guide still do not match what I see on MY screen. Is this perhaps an update of this Guide to match my system?
(2) I need Device Manager to find out what happened on my Audio device. I have no sound from my speakers. It happened all of a sudden when my wife was using the computer. I don't know what she can do both.
Start/Settings/Control Panel / sounds and Audio Devices Properties shows "No. Audio Device", hence "Volume of the device" is gray. Audio tab displays 'No peripheral to read '.
The fastest way to bring up the Device Manager is:
Start-> Run-> "devmgmt.msc".
If it detects the sound equipment, but there is a problem with a driver, you will probably see a yellow "!" appears by your audio device. If he was working and stopped, you can try to perform a "System Restore" to a point where it worked:
