  I'm not a computer tech, but a civilian who would like his own service HP laptop to achieve savings on repairs.

  Service manuals are available for all portable HP here. Current laptops are much harder to work than to say 5 years ago. They are much lighter and there is much more to internal components. It would be similar to someone who had worked on cars in the 1960s working on a modern car. That said, a lot of things is doable by a qualified first timer. Replacing the screen is a good example. And in any case there is very little repair. It is above all, identification and replacement of defective parts.   No, sorry. Don't buy it with that in the back of your mind. It also applies of almost every laptop and certainly any laptop under $800 or more. The video is soldered to the motherboard and it started not at level of the slot as a desktop computer.

  Updated my Portege R830 to Windows 8 without problem.

  Given that most of the Wireless Manager functionality has been moved in the Windows, I can not find where I can "force" the connection to 3 G/HSDPA.

  I live in an area where the signal is insufficient and if I let the network default settings, it frequently goes to the strongest EDGE connection. I connected with Wireless Manager, using only 3 G/HSDPA where 2 bars were sufficient for everyday tasks.

• Airport Time Capsule and change provider to wide band

  I recently changed my broadband provider and need help with my Airport Time Capsule. I currently have backup via an ethernet cable wireless for Macbook Pro and iMac, Plug and connect every day (although I've never been certain that it's the right or even the simplest method.)

  (1) that I have to back my TC and, if so, should what steps I take?

  (2) should what changes I make on the iMac and Macbook Pro?

  (3) when I bought the TC on the local Apple Store, I was told there was a way in which I could have the TC located in another room of the House, connected wireless constantly and discreetly safeguard to avoid Plug and connect the cable manually each time.  I have sought confirmation of this but could not find any instructions.  Expert advice would be very welcome.

  UCM hosts different projects.
  I have the following problem: If someone (from another project) insert a new field of Information (e.g. xAnnoPubblicazione) of type Integer - list of options - select validated list and it's not a default value for this field when I perform the consignment using RIDC, it fails with the error:
  
  "oracle.stellent.ridc.protocol.ServiceException:"UCMRE010132"piece of content has not been verified successfully." Value not found in a permit the list of options for the field 'xAnnoPubblicazione '.
  
  How can I solve this problem? What is the recommended method?

  In the language of database, you created a NON NULL column, and that you are trying to insert a record with a NULL value for the column. Of course, it cannot work.

  There are three options:

  -do not declare a field as NOT NULL (i.e. you option list must contain "blank" as possible value)
  -provide value when inserting
  -provide the default value

  • Ask a computer-savvy friend to come inspect your installation.
  • Use a CAT5 cable temporarily connect the PC to the router, then grant a competent friend of remote access to your machine.

  I had a lot of problems like myself.  Invariably, I find that the bug is my code.  Usually, it is not difficult to find using the appropriate debug or SimpleDateFormat (because times are difficult to interpret, it is good to let the system do it for you!).  I suggest you do the same thing here.

  If you find that the system does not have it that you wait, then give us the details, for example, give us the long value that you provide to the calendar and the time you go out. You should be able to do it in two or three lines, just using the standard Java RIM (i.e. None of your classes).  You can also indicate the time zone that you are testing in.
