Your computer has two PCI ports free and a PCIe x 16 location. The card uses a slot. And should be ok for 250W power supply

Best video card for Pavilion p6 recommendation - 2040 has for balanced performance
Pavilion P6 - 2040a Desk top. Windows 7 pro 64-bit. 8Gig of ram. NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 Direct X 9
I would like to know the best balanced video card that will compliment the APU used in my desktop pc Pavilion P6 - 2040 has.
It is currently equipped with a Nvidia GT 520 graphics card, clearly a very basic card as the Windows partitions are only;
Graphics card: Desktop for Windows Aero 5.3 performance
The graphics of games; Business 3D & game performance 6.5
The other partitions are;
7.1 PROCESSOR
7.4 RAM
HD 7.8
I'm also surprised that, in light of the A8-3800 AMD APU which has the graphics card AMD Radeon HD 6550 integrated that a Radeon graphics card has not been used.
Bearing in mind the constraints of the nominal power of 300 watts what would be the best video card I can use it will complete the graphic part of the AMD APU and get a higher rating of Windows and I hope to use Direct X 11
Thank you very much
John G
I must say that I'm quite disappointed with this PC.
Unmatcheted RAM 4 and 2 gig from different suppliers.
I found myself buying little ram Corsair.
Memory locations only 2 and thus limited to 8 GB of ram
And now a pathetic videocard poorly matched to the APU and piddly 300 Watt power supply.
Never another product from HP... NEVER
This will be the most expensive way to buy a PC
Shame on you, HP and the glib and slick sales guy.
This machine is on eBay in recent weeks with no interest whatsoever, I'm not surprised and really angry at myself for having been cheated in this thing. Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

What is the best video card for a Dell Optiplex GX620.
Hello!
I have a Dell Optiplex GX620 and after many trials with glitches in video games, I am told that I need to update my video card. What is a good which corresponds to my mini-tower and a good price?
Thanks for your help!
Puppetguy
You asked the best video card for the GX 620 minitower then this would be the HD 6670 or 7750 HD. Apparently, you do not have any dedicated now video card. If we have linked is too heavy, you will need to give us an idea what you can spend. Your will does not get a lot for less than $50. If all want them you want, you can get a HD 6450. I got one on ebay for $32.

A Nvidia GT430 or GT520 is better than a 300 watt power supply will manage. If you want a better graphics card than Nvidia or any Radeon HD card you willl need a more powerful power supply. The Corsair CX500 and CX600 are highly recommended and are favorite forum. For more information, read Guide of Big_Dave of a discrete video card selection .

Is there a way to change the settings of video card with PowerShell?
Hello
I am updating multiple virtual machines to the new tools and the hardware upgrade to v7. Several have 4 MB video RAM, and I want to change this to Auto-Detect. I use Set-NetworkAdapter change a vmxnet3 adapter and hoped there was a cmdlet "Set-VideoAdapter' to change the video, but that does not exist. Is there another way to set the video card with powershell?

I have separate video memory or a separate in my laptop video card?
I have the pavilion dv7-6135dx.
When I look to the top of my model number on the HP site, it says: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6490 m
When I go in my display settings, it says: Mobile Intel HD graphics 3000
5093 MB total available graphics memory
Dedicated to 1280 MB of video memory
System video memory 0 MB
3813 MB shared system memory
What does all this mean?
Can I have a separate video card or is it separate mounted to the motherboard video card?
Best Buy said I could go 6 MB video memory to 8 or 12 MB I think. How can I know for sure.
HP says nothing about the site on max video memory.
Thank you
Hello
That just means your machine has TWO video 'maps' one is called Intel equipped with a video card and another called dedicated video card.

Best video format - MP4, DV, MOV...?
Hello!
I'd love your advice on the best video format for use in iMovie 10.1.1.
In 2009, before that I migrated to Apple, I scanned some 50 family Hi8 videos. Later, when I migrated to Apple, I had to convert it into a format compatible with iMovie. Then, I don't have time to go further. Now that I'm retired I would edit the videos but I find myself with sometimes up to 4 versions of the same file, with very different sizes, and I don't know who should I choose and I should delete. For example, these are four versions, I have a video:
Format size
TS 1.55 GB (in the Finder, it says that it's MPEG-2)
DV 9,55 go
MP4 772 MB (in the Finder, it says that it's MPEG-4)
MOV 5.53 go (in the Finder is said that it is the QuickTime video)
Sometimes it's the MPG format.
So my question is, what format should I keep? If I have to choose between quality and file size, I would choose quality.
I see that iMovie recognize the DV MP4 but not TS and MPG formats. Which simplifies my choice, I think.
To my surprise I see also that iMovie doesn't recognize the QuickTime files, even if it's an Apple software!
I sought an answer to my question elsewhere on the Internet, but I found conflicting reports. Where did my posting on this forum.
Thank you very much for taking the time to answer!
MP4 is a delivery format, meant to be watching. DV is a less compressed format designed for publishing. If Mp4 files will occupy less space than DV files. However, you can change them both. iMovie will accept both. I would like to keep both.
My thought is that I edit in DV and export to Mp4 to watch. If you burn it to a DVD, you will get the MP2, which is very highly compressed, designed for viewing, but terrible for editing.
Don't forget to back up your movies before doing anything.
I'm not sure that this link will work, but if this is the case it may be useful.

Very well. I have a desktop which is a few years old, and I need to more video memory in order to run some new games smoothly. So far, my 'helper' on my desktop HP has been useless for helping me find this basic information:
-Info on my diet
-I still have how many slots have opened
Also, will adding a second card to the top of my video RAM in all, or do I have to replace the primary card?
Thanks for any help!

I recently bought a HP 17-e049wm. This laptop has the AMD Radeon HD8650G integrated graphics with up to 4206 MB total memory. I understand that this graphics 'card' using embedded memory as video memory. How can I increase or decrease the amount of memory allocated for graphics? I don't seem to be able to make changes from the BIOS. Is this something that adjusts automatically?
Hello:
Yes the PC controls the amount of system memory that is shared and there is no way for the user to control this feature.

Video memory on the Go 7900 GTX went wrong - new card?
Hey guys, according to diagnostic tests, the video memory in my nVidia Geforce Go 7900 GTX went wrong. I have a XPS M1710. I'm ready to buy another card or upgrade, but I can't seem to contact Dell without re - certify my guarantee - that seems a bit ridiculous. To make things worse, I just moved to the Australia of Czech Republic - and there is a bit of a language barrier. Unable to find one on eBay. And I said... it's hard to get in touch with Dell (here at least). Maybe I'll be stupid, but it's me nervous a little, and let me just go back to work. If anyone has ANY advice... I would be very happy.

Video memory problem card 7900 GS
Hello world
I have an Inspiron 9400 with a 7900 GS video card. The warranty has expired (I've had it since November 2007) and unfortunately the video card is broken.
During loading the BIOS and boot OS (Vista Business), a lot of colorful dotted lines is visible on the screen, but the text is readable without problems.
Once the OS finishes the boot sequence and load the login screen, happening at a higher resolution and frequency, the screen becomes completely black.
I have run the Dell diagnostic tool (which is accessible by pressing the F12 key at the end of the BIOS loading sequence) and I got a lot of chess while testing the video card. Here is the message:
Error code: 5300:0119
MSG: Detected a failure when writing and reading of the video memory. Video mode: Dh (320 x 200 x 16). Address A0040h, expected read h 0, but read instead of 2020202 h.The same error was triggered for all video modes: (320 x 200 x 16) Dh, Eh (640 x 200 x 16), Fh (640 x 350 x 2), 10 h (640 x 350 x 16), 12 h (640 x 480 x 16) and so on... the only difference between the different video modes is the video memory address (A0040h or A0100h) and value (2020202 or 20000 h).
Let's get to the questions:
-If I could be 100% sure that the video card is broken?
-Can I fix this without having to buy a new video card?
-Unfortunately the 7900 GS video card is no longer manufactured... so the only chance for me is to buy a renovated support.dell (where it is quite expensive) or ebay.com (where I have no guarantee). Does anyone know where to find a NEW 7900 GS with guaranteed and any card? If it is impossible to find a new card, I could buy a NEW ati X 1400 card?
THX.
Radu.
