  Hi all. I am new to teststand

  I have to work again on a former ramp driven by a core of teststand. to do this, I first need to copy all the data with another computer, just to see the source codes and .seq file, since I can't not work directly from the ramp

  After copying the workspace, a lot of things don't work / are not more recognized in the source code. the main one is the globals station. is it stored somewhere else in the project directory? You can specify all the things outside the project that I have to copy with my project and with what?

  It is not trivial to simply copy like this.  There is so much that goes into automation TestStand.  Consider the following, which form a TestStand system:

  • Code model/s process and support
  • File of the client's sequence and dependencies (screws, DLLs, assemblies, etc...)
  • Cfg files (settings of the station, stationglobals, search directories, report options, etc...)
  • User interface
  • Engines
  • Drivers
  • And much more

  Station globals are stored in the config directory.  Usually stored here: C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\TestStand 2010 SP1\Cfg on Windows 7.

  In addition to the configuration settings, the most important copy thing on would be the .seq file and all of its dependencies.  You will have to go through it, step by step to understand what all of those who are.  And then to top that off, you need to make sure that when you should I copy on they are accessible by the search directories (of if using absolute paths that they are exactly the same task).

  I have vmware fusion 3.1.3 on macbook pro. I currently have a virtual machine, I installed win 2K Server. too old, too big. I need to get xp and do an installation. I tried to make a snapshot of the existing machine, but seemed to make mistake on the OEM version and wants me register and pay as the new. I have a win 7 pro machine, I guess I could try to make instant, but I was wondering if v3.1.3 will even run that? So, what is the best way to way (see below) to get a XP installation for my installation of vmware fusion run? Fiscally constrained, won't be upgrading to fusion or pay retail for XP anytime soon.

  It will be VERY difficult to get copies of legitimate retail XP more.  Most of the things on eBay is also OEM, which is not available for use of the VM.

  Do not forget that you must purchase a license of said too (the version on the existing machine is probably an OEM version too).

  Why not just buy Win7 on amazon or costco?

  The only other option is a sort of MSDN license, but these licenses cannot be used for production purposes.

• ISE - best way to distribute certificates for Mac

  I have a client that users with the company issued a MacBook Pro.  They want to implement ISE for Wireless 802.1 X access control, the use of EAP - TLS.  The challenge is distribution of certificate on the client device to Mac.  Preference of the client is of him be as automated as possible - much as with an AD GPO for Windows machines.

  I thought of three options:

  • Direct them to a self-registration portal and have the device through a DK/BYOD process to get the cert there (seems unnecessarily complex)
  • AnyConnect loaded on the Mac to get the cert (is it possible?)
  • Manually install the certificate root and then request/install the user certificate (what they want to avoid)

  Which (if any) of these options is most reasonable, or is there a better way?

  Hi Andrew -.

  I've done many deployments in the past where the client has MAC and wanted on board with certificates. I used the ISE and a MDM to perform this function. ISE currently uses a Java based and start-up that has become messy when Apple pulled the app native Java. With ISE 1.3 it will be moved to a .dmg basic deployment which will make things much easier. However, the process of integration together (outside java) is pretty slick and easy to use. You can do this through simple or double SSID and attach the integration of the AD user credentials. You will need a protocol CEP/NDE server.

  MDM (IMO) facilitates the deployment and some of the providers out there can now integrate directly with the CA server without the need of server PEIE/NDE.

  Other than that, you can look in "Apple Configurator" but I the have not used in the past, so I don't know what his capabilities are. I do not think that the AnyConnect client has options automatically register a certificate.

  You can have a manual process where users must go and request the cert, download, install it with the root of trust, but as you said, that is not ideal and should be avoided.

• Use the old C3 SWF in Captivate 5 - the best way to convert project?

  I'm updating some old e-Learning content created in Captivate 3 in Captivate 5.

  This includes some animations that are small 1 or 2 slides C3 SWF.

  These don't work in C5 as they are implemented in ActionScript 2.

  I tried to open their original .cp files in Captivate 5 and then republishing to AS3.

  This translates into animation (sometimes) play when I play the slide in the edition, but in the preview window or

  Edition I get a white grey that does nothing.

  Strangely the C3 project containing sovereign wealth funds comes through relatively spared apart from that (well a few invisible buttons and some changes of fonts).

  The only solution I have at the moment is to open the file in C3, copy the background, then use the bottom in a new project of C5 and tinkering with positioning etc of mouse, which is far from ideal.

  Is there a better way to do this?

  (BTW I also access to C4 if it helps)

  I would try the upgrade of my Cp3 project files that generate these SWFs to Cp4 format and then first to Cp5 Cp4.

  Once you have your problems to the Cp5 format should be minimal, as far as compatibility goes.

Is it possible to retain the vignettes catalog and image on my computer, but archive images high resolution for cloud storage somewhere in order to save space on my hard drive? If so, is it possible that Lightroom can automatically recover if they are needed, IE. If I want to print or export the image?

  Lightroom does not really work with images cloud storage.

  If you want to archive the images in the cloud, you will need to do this manually and get the images manually. (Which means there are plenty of chances to make a mistake, and so I do not recommend this unless you are sure to 100%, you know what you're doing in both the fine mist of things and with Lightroom)

  Or you could buy an external HD, which are relatively expensive and move the photos here.

  I would never recommend 720 p unless there is a specific need for this image size. The standard is 1080 X 1920 pixel square and 29.97 frames per second in all countries that runs of their electricity at 60 cycles and 25 frames per second in all countries on the standard PAL where electricity is 50 Hz. If the composition settings show custom you had better know exactly what you are doing. You should also use Adobe Media Encoder to render all items to be delivered. Unless you have requirements of presentation given by a client using H.264 and choose the preset that matches your model size and pace. If you go on YouTube, use their presets. If you use Vimeo their. Here again, unless you know exactly what you are doing should not be Custom in the settings panel. The only thing you might want to check is to ensure that the multi pass rendering and maximum quality is selected. These will slow a bit rendering but will reduce the compression in color and movement artifacts.

  The Cue Render in After Effects is very useful to render DI (digital intermediate) in a format without loss of production or master visually lossless. Is it y important audiotape or its treatment in your project, or there is a lot of editing then you'll want to make your rendering of Premiere Pro and your sound work in hearing. AE is primarily designed to create Visual effects and motion graphics and short sequences shots that will be edited and assembled and put to the point in a NLE such as Premiere Pro. Too much new users to EI and even quite a few people who have used AE for a long time, try and make 5 or 10 movies minutes in AE. I had a student once tried to change a minute 20 Sifi short in AE in a single model. It was a mess unwieldily who turned into a pretty decent movie, once we cracked in some 40 separate projects with eight or ten comps in each then cut the film in Premiere Pro.

  Hi Jodi,

  The project manager can help you collect a project to a new location. Collecting files copies the current project and all of its files in media associated with a single storage location. There is no conversion of files when the files are copied.

  The App store has a few options, but not one with a qualification or a review. Online searches are not very convincing.

  These services have the ability to manage the e-mail in bulk. E-mail servers will block your messages if you seem to be spamming, there are a lot of issues to be addressed (addresses failed, bouncing mail, management of requests to subscribe / unsubscribe...). I suspect it's more trouble should manage it all yourself.

  "Native" is just C/C++ without using Qt and infrastructure of Cascades user interface on top of it. Unless you plan build your user interface ENTIRELY in OpenGL, you probably want to waterfalls. And even in this case, you can draw OpenGL cascading with the ForeignWindowControl content.

• Best way to keep this Center everything using a camera?

  I try to keep the center of the rocket in the frame while I'm manipulating the position of the camera. I tried it parenting to the camera, but that breaks just how to position a lot and wouldn't really work because I would like to be able to pan upward from the center of the Moon, show the rocket at the top then store in setting it goes up very quickly. Sorry for the really beginner question, I don't use AE in a long time and has failed to find something online :/

  EDIT: I actually did it another way which has proved to be much easier. I just created a null and attached the rocket via pickwhip (the entire layer, not just position of the rocket) as NULL and did the same thing with the camera (once again the whole layer). Worked a treat!

  The videos are captured with a video camera high quality and then edited with Adobe Premiere CS4.
  Can I ask two questions:
  1. who are the best export settings for Youtube if you use a file of source Full HD (1920 x 1080) at 30 frames per second?
  For the export file, I use the same width and height that the source file is 1920 x 1080.
  However, the original file is shot at 30 frames per second, but I read somewhere that I have included use 59,94 frames per second for the export file, and it seems to work even if it doesn't sound right, it :-)
  My current settings for my export file are:
  Video settings
  Main Concept H.264 video
  Width and Height: 1920 x 1080
  FPS: 59,94 frames per second
  Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square Pixels
  Profile: hand
  Level: 4.2
  Flow settings
  Encoding Bitrate: VBR, 1 Pass (I also use 2 because there is no worse that it takes just as long to return, pls correct me if I'm wrong)
  Target Bitrate: 4.8
  Maximum flow rate: 8.2

  interlaced was sorta invented for use with the tv broadcast and the quality is very good and sometimes even better than progressive (even today) if there is a lot of 'Action' in a scene (less blur in the individual images if you look at the individual images to compare)... also, most DVD to date were burned of interlaced footage and many blue ray are too...

  The DVD or blue ray player can understand what type of tv it is connected to (widescreen digital tv or old crt 4:3 tv) and deliver the right signal to make it all good look...

  So there is no need to think progressive isn't automatically BETTER interlaced... it depends on a lot of things...

  lets see if Ann weighs with cs4 settings for you... then read you these files pdf, hehe... you'll be an expert in no time!

  PS... If you are interested, check out the news of color samples (you YUV and 4.2.0

  I mention this as it might be more useful late re: reproduction of the right color on your exports (your color of youtube has been a little more 'saturated' IMO... very very green and very very red)... then at some point maybe that can be fixed up a little bit too...
