  In the past whenever I've had to deal with XML, I had an XSD that I could use to marshal the XML in a bean. But now I have to communicate to an API that returns XML that have no any XSD or other type of document description XML.
  
  I was going to just to use string mute and corresponding analysis. Is there a better way to deal with this? Is there like a tool or library that will be the input XML ICD and put it in a container that is widespread with cards and such that I can pull the data I want?

  The basic structure you need to analyze and process the data anyway. So why not simply capture the structure you need in an XSD, and then use this XSD the same way you have always (e.g. XMLBeans or other).

  If you are looking for on the net you can find some freeware libraries that can create a basic XSD from an XML doc. More complete example XML is the best work they can do. Use one of those to get the first draft of a XSD and then to embellish it.

  You can also use Apache Commons Digester to only have access to the raw XML data.

  I am trying to understand better, more concise way to parse this string:

  I played a bit with using Substr and Instr, but the code seems to have a little messy, so I thought I would check to see if there was an easier way.

  Spry was abandoned by Adobe, several years ago. In addition, but not all of the Spry widgets have been replaced by jQuery UI, you can find on the Insert panel. There is a ToolTip for jQuery UI, but it has been added in Dreamweaver. You must manually code it yourself. See https://jqueryui.com/tooltip/.

• Best way to parse a string for use in a lookup table?

  I am trying to create a system by which users can create a premade simulation and store simulations in order to easily load at their convenience. The way it works now is that when the user creates a simulation, information on the characteristics of the simulation are condensed down to a 12 string, which is written in a text file with the same name as its content. This string is then read, and ideally, I would have some sort of lookup table to convert characters in the information they have been condensed to. For example, a variable X can have possible values {650,720,851} who gets the mapping to {A, B, C} during the creation process. When loading, I would be able to send in a Sub C - VI and took her out in 851, group in a cluster. How can I perfectly realize this in LV? So far the best I have is this messy thing:

  I recently invested in a laptop to use when im on a job or simply does coffee work and again on some pictures. When Im at home, I use my game rig, as I work more comfortable and can make things more tons.

  Currently when Im on the laptop I have create a new catalog beginning Assembly on-site. Then go home, export the catalog from the laptop recording on a Flash drive, load on my Rig to create a new catalog and import Photos from the catalog stored on the flash drive for Lightroom

  Everyone does the same thing or use a better and more effective way that could save me some time? Also once the pictures are on my desk and need to get out once more. I can't go back to work where I left my office.

  Just remember it is my course step by step process:

  1. On laptop, I create a catalog
  2. Import and edit and rate the Photos on laptop
  3. Once finished, export catalogue (with negative) to Flash Drive
  4. On the desktop, I create a new catalog
  5. Import of flash drive catalog
  6. Images and Loaded to desktop settings
  7. Continue to edit and finalize the Photos.

  The best (more reliable) way to work on the same images on both computers would be to have the catalog and images on an external hard drive that can be activated from one computer to another. When you feel that you are confident that the job is finished, you can then import this catalog at both the desktop and the laptop.

  Hmmmmmm!

  "I use a lot of disk space" - remove all the files that you do not need, does not store things that you don't use often. Delete unwanted files, i.e. run diskcleanup for example.

  "burn the DVD for storage of backup" - If you have USB2 then consider getting an external USB2 hard drive. Its easy to set up as and when necessary and is easy to copy/backup information to.

  Indeed, consider laying a HD internal or (easier) a USB2 external hard drive for storage from day to day, not just a backup.

  "I am a heavy user of CPU too" - its sometimes possible to upgrade your processor one installed initially, but it will depend on your type/brand/model of PC. Sometimes possible, sometimes it isn't. But it is usually at best a stop gap.

  If you have any free ram slots, additional ram stick in (get the right type for your PC) that can help speed up actions for certain tasks. If you play games and you have a "graphics card", level it as well.

  Best of all, is to consider a replacement PC. If you are really short on HD and have a very slow motherboard or CPU, long term on a new PC is probably going to be the best.

  I'm pretty much a newbie to LavVIEW.

  I use LabVIEW complete edition on Windows 7 2012.  I copied a project using Save As duplicate in the Project Explorer.  He created an excessively long and complex directory structure.  He made "too long" (probably from the path being too long).

  The intention was to obtain a copy of the project can be used to freely modify it without damaging the original.

  I searched the Forum and knowledge base, do not see anything definitive.  I guess that information is already posted, but just, I have not been able to find.  A point in the right direction would be appreciated.

  Copy the directory of the whole project to a new location

  Delete the files .lvlps, .lvprog and the new .aliases copy

  Start LabView and create a new empty project

  In the project manager, add a new auto fill directory select the new copy of the project directory

  Save the new project in the new project directory

  Only caveat is that this does not all dependencies in your user.lib or inst.lib for the first time, you open a vi that you might find some of the dependencies that are not in the default locations.

• What is the best way to import fonts in Dreamweaver 7714 build?

  I tried several things. I did manage fonts > local Web fonts > Browse > click on the police of the web. The fonts are appearing in the bottom box labeled "Current list of local Web fonts" but when I try and use them in the CSS, they are not applied. I also tried to use '@font-face' with the same result - nothing. If anyone has experience this problem before, I would be greatly appreciated the work of they have found success... Or someone point out a stupid mistake, I do... Thanks again.

  To view the TypeKit web fonts, you need a local test server or just download your site and test on the remote server.

  I don't know what other fonts you use, but I am able to see Edge and Google Web fonts in Live View mode.  Creation mode? Fagetaboutit.

  I have created the XML file, but I can't see it / exit it.

  Please can anyone suggest what's best way to create xml files?

  (1) create xml with DocumentBuilderFactory and then analyze or

  (2) manually create xml hardcoded and save it to the sd card and then access it for analysis.

  I have continuously variable data text in xml files.

  Why you are unable to view the XML file? How to read as a byte array and look into the debugger? That way at least you can check the syntax of the XML prologue is correct. Then, you can read in as an array of characters using the appropriate encoding and check the syntax of the entire file.

  Regarding the creation of XML code, the best approach depends entirely on what you start with. You have built a DOM model or or do you have custom data structures you want to encode?

  The XMLWriter class in net.rim.device.api.xml.jaxp is not all that useful for generating XML, because it is designed to be used as a Manager when parsing existing XML - it is more than an XML processor to an XML writer. It's not too hard to write your own code to generate XML; a search on the web will be probably some examples of implementation.

  To find out where to keep the XML on the device: the file system, permanent storage, or RMS all work fine. Your basis in the analysis job it will be to open an input stream on what you've stored, create an InputSource of the stream and feed it to one of the analyzers. In general, unless you really need to generate a DOM model, the approach of SAX parser is much more effective. You can create your custom data directly structures as the analysis takes place, rather than going back in a DOM trying to get information. Still, a web search for "SAX compared to DOM parsing" or a similar collection of key words meet a number of good tutorials on how to do this.

  PS After re-reading your original post, I think you may be confused about something. The DocumentBuilderFactory and the SAXParserFactory are tools to transform XML in an internal data structure. You do not use them to go the other way. For this, you are going to have to write your own code, or find others, you can borrow; I don't think that there is something useful in the RIM API. (XMLWriter can be used to move from the existing to the new, equivalent XML, XML, which is not that it would be useful for you.)

  It's not like there is a native way to parse XML in ColdFusion version 5.0. ColdFusion MX makes it easier to work with XML, but unfortunately I am working under Windows with a CF5 server.
  
  I've gotten to the point of use CFHTTP to retrieve XML content in a variable, but I don't know the best way to decompress the data in a query, or another structure that I can use to feed the rest of the model. I thought to save the content of a file and then a loop top, but something tells me that it is an inefficient way to do the job.
  
  I would like to avoid having to install any additional software, but if it's the only way to process XML in CF5, then I would be grateful for any recommendations on the best tools to evaluate or buy. Or if there is a way to do it in JavaScript, it would be great, too.

  I understand how to create a view, but do not know how I handle updates/deletes/inserts with optimistic locking etc.

  The best way is to not use the tabular forms at all. Create an interactive report related to a form of single line based on a procedure that handles the DML and you will have a better way for users to access data and a much more robust maintenance page.

  If you need to use a tabular presentation, and then create a view to join the 2 tables, INSTEAD OF triggers on tables insert/update/delete according to needs and create the tabular form to the normal display.

  Sorry for the low resolution. I would like to create a line with a triangle at each end, similar to the one illustrated. What is the best way to achieve this using InDesign? I will create three or four and we will add the month abbreviations for years.

  I'd probably use the online tool to create the line. You can hold the SHIFT key to make the straight line. For triangles, you can either use the polygon tool (shift click to set the number of sides) or you can create a square with the rectangle tool (hold down the SHIFT key while dragging to make a square) and use the pen tool to remove a corner of the shape, creating a triangle. I generally prefer the polygon tool.
