Best way to preserve MiniDV to hard drive

Hello!

I start a project where I am going through in many MANY MiniDV tapes and I want to store them on a archive hard for future use (so that I have is useless to deal with importation in real time, once again).  I have the Premiere CS4 and the camcorder connected via Firewire.  My question is how can I save the raw images cam preserve all its details?  I want to keep the images because it's on the MiniDV tape, so the version stored on the hard drive is a perfect replica of the Strip.   Once I have archived, I matter now to edit and compress then in smaller files sizes.  I am well aware that soundtracks will be a lot of hard drive space (~ 13 GB per hour), but this isn't a problem.  I want to assure you that I have never take any time to import it back the original film.

I am well aware that soundtracks will be a lot of hard drive space (~ 13 GB per hour), but this isn't a problem.  I want to assure you that I have never take any time to import it back the original film.  I also want to be able to import the video archived in any editing software I choose in the future, whether it's design or something else.

Thank you!

I want to keep the images because it's on the MiniDV tape, so the version stored on the hard drive is a perfect replica of the Strip.

This happens by default.  No need to do something special.  Just enter the bands using whatever program you prefer.  AVI files that results will be a copy of what is on the tape, usable in any editing software.

Independent of how this feature works, you want to have your photos in one place and have a backup (second copy) somewhere else. All hard drives will not be successful at some point - some more early, some late - never trust to have your files in any safety devices if they are on a single disc. Once you have your sorted, it would be useful that you will organize/name/tag new photos immediately if the task is relatively short and simple. I copy my photos on my internal hard drive for my camera, take a quick look with preview to see who needs some changes and then decide where to put them - either drop them immediately after naming them or bring in an editing application and then file them away.

Transfer a large number of files and I want to copy on a hard drive backup periodically (manually) without deleting anything on that hard drive. The problem with just drag / drop is that Windows allows you to copy existing files, just take the useless time (I'll be okay have copy if files changed). Windows XP has a built-in feature smarter somewhere? SyncToy has tried, but it is too buggy. • Is there an alternative way looking for an external hard drive decision to Apple to remove external hard drive of 10.11 OS search?

With previous versions of the OS 10, you can use Spotlight or Finder to search the content of your external hard drive.

However, with OS 10.11 El Capitan, this feature has been removed (according to support tech Seagate, at least).

In the Finder, I gives me the ability to click on my external hard drive in the upper left, just like in the screenshot of the Pinkstones.

However, when I do the search he always brings back me to the main screen of the Finder and search only in my hard drive. No matter how many times I try never search my external hard drive as I told it to.

  • Best method/tool for cloning a HARD drive for data recovery default?

If you have a Western Digital hard drive, you can get a version of Acronis True Image free of WD (http://support.wdc.com/product/downloaddetail.asp?swid=119) or you can get the software of cloning separately (this is not an exhaustive list and in no particular order, some are free, some not):

  • Is there a SAFE or APPROVED way to back up a hard drive online?

My external hard drive was stolen. I am looking for a safe & trust worthy backup method of my hard drive online

There are various tools available for online backup.

Microsoft OneDrive offers 15 GB of free storage and Microsoft OneDrive for business 1 TB of storage paid. Of course, you can extend the storage at any time by paying for additional storage space.

Other third-party service providers are also available, but we cannot comment on their characteristics and cost here.

If save you your password, in all cases, the data is safe. Service providers have generally good backup, then your data will be lost.

  • BOOTMGR is missing after formatting HARD drive

I installed Windows 7 on XP.  I chose a clean install, assuming that the partition he wipe, but when it's over I had 2 GB of free space on the partition of 50GB. I then formatted the C drive and tried to install again, as I always had better luck with OS completely clean installs in the past.  When I tried to install from the DVD Win 7, I got an error message saying THAT BOOTMGR is missing.  I can't boot from the drive installation, or a recovery disc Windows 7, nor any boot disks that I saved various forms over the years.  Some discs loading menus, but the end result is always the same - BOOTMGR is missing.  So the problem is not a bad drive.  I downloaded EasyBCD, cannot boot from that. Is it possible to fix this or do I have to buy a new hard drive?

Well, I ended up having to reformat the hard disk and restart completely from scratch.  Windows is now re-installed and I am up & running again.

Then the next, what is the best way to add my second hard drive?  Win7 seems extremely susceptible to a second drive added.  My intention is first to move all my files the second disk, and then the RAID set (RAID 1) as I had before.  I won't be able to do this with Win7?

  • Satellite Pro M70 - what HARD drive can you recommend?

I have Satellite Pro M70 and I have a 60GB HDD that I see what it s SATA 8 MB of buffer memory. The processor it s 1.73 GHz. I see that there is the Samsung typical 160 GB and the Western Digital Scorpio Blue 160 GB at the same price, which is better?

And for only $ 11 more there's a Scorpio blue Western digital 320 with even 8 MB buffer than other 2. But I don t think so 320, that's a lot for Satellite Pro M70, and I have an external drive 2.5 "250 GB, data with this is not problem.

What the best solution for this laptop? I don t want to burn now the phone LOL.

    Thank you

    Hello

If your laptop is already equipped with SATA interface, you can use each HDD with SATA1 or SATA2 port on the new SATA interface there is no limit on the old standard IDE

It s your choice what HARD drive you buy because I put t know your needs, but in my opinion it makes no difference which manufacturing you buy the HARD drive. All hard drives are similar and there is no significant difference (performance).
I made good experiences with Western Digital and Hitachi hard drives.

By the way: you can buy a HARD drive with 7200 rpm or 5400.rpm. Latter is faster but requires more power. In my opinion, this is useful if you often work with large files.

  • SSD HARD drive cloning

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows a quick and inexpensive way to clone my current hard drive to my new SSD.  The SSD, I is the EVO of 850 Samsung 250 GB internal 2.5 inch SATA III SSD flash disk. I thought that I could use as Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper cloning software to clone hard drive into a USB port, replace the hard drive with the new SSD and install Mac OS El Capitan (10.11.2), download Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper and transfer the files from the USB on the SSD.  If anyone has the best ways to go about this, I'd be more than happy to know.

    MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid-2012)

    OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

Storage: GB 439,61 498,88 GB free

Processor: Intel Core i5 2.5 GHz

I use external enclosures due to their flexibility.  I have a http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MSTG800U3K/, and there is a little cheaper that has only USB 3.0 http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MOTGS3U3/.  Exchange a number any 2.5 in. nu-readers through the enclosure.

Put the SSD inside, download CCC clone internally externally.

Download ElCapitan.  But install ForceQuit the execution of the European Community.  Now the twist I like, but others may disagree with... copy EC install to a place safe to use again if you need (install draws internal parts in the place of installation).  Then, run install EC to upgrade your clone.  Make sure that the clone/upgrade is running well.  THEN swap the drives.

I use my camera for several readers of clone, data/video players, test for OSXes new readers, etc.

  • Satellite P30 141 hard drive stops working

    Hello.

I am having major problems with my hard drive.
He was clicking on last week, restarted and it hung and then win xp splash screen.
I formatted the computer but it has been restarted, and turn off when you try to install a new copy of windows XP.
I read a little about my error, and it seems that I have a defective hard disk with bad sectors on it.

I have managed to get win xp on the machine, but at random times the machine is always turn off itself.

The machine is no longer under warranty and I am now looking to replace the hard drive.

What type of hard drive I can put in the p30-141. should be a specific model or any generic portable hard drive works in it

    Thanks in advance

The best solution is to replace the HARD drive with the same model. On this way, you will be sure that everything will be OK. What you need is the HARD disk with interface IDE (ATA-5). Laptops newer come with a SATA interface.
