  We have a cluster of OSB and we must load balance HTTP requests on managed servers. Looking for info on OSB in load balancing, I found that there are essentially two options: use a hardware load balancer or a software solution like Weblogic HttpClusterServlet. For the moment, we have without balancer material available so we will have to take the option of software. I found a few articles on the configuration of HttpClusterServlet as http://redstack.wordpress.com/2010/12/20/using-weblogic-as-a-load-balancer.
  But I have a question for this configuration. If we use a managed server as a proxy HTTP requests between OSB as managed servers, what would happen if the server goes down? I think that one of the main objectives of a cluster deployment is to avoid a single point of failure, but with this configuration, all requests depend on the availability of the managed proxy server.
  
  Could you recommend a configuration of implementation of OSB load balancing?

  Load Balancing in a cluster for http requests can be made using at least 4 different ways:

  (1) - use a hardware load balancer like F5 BigIP LTM
  (2) - use a web server with the plugin from weblogic to the cluster frontend
  (3) - use weblogic with HTTPClusterServlet
  (4) - use the DNS round robin - it works if you managed servers that run on 2 machines (say mach1, mach2) but on the same port. Client HTTP use hostname "mach" to access the URL and the dns has a resolution of names alternating Mach mach 1 and mach2 IP addresses...

  All options except (1) only achieve load balancing and not automatically failover all instances... Balancing load material has the additional feature to probe [sending periodic pings to targets], by which it can detect if the target resource is alive and do not send traffic to other nodes who are alive... That's why the hardware load balancers are worth their investment...
  other options may work if the client is encoded to a retry on failure... so on 2nd or subsequent attempt, the routing is done in the machine that is alive...

  For the options (1), (2)) and (3), you also need a redundancy of the system (material of load balancer, web server or weblogic) to avoid the single point of failure for load balancing... Balancers support material are usually deployed in redundant pairs to achieve...

  Physically, you can't add content in a swf file that you go back and find what you have created still exists.  You need to store information related to these new content in external storage (cookie, database, xml file, etc.) and then use that information to reconstruct this content when you reopen the file.

  the problem is, the first newspaper that get the things I want. The second time I get:

  The work around this problem is to stringify before saving and then analyze before loading.

  I'm looking to improve our tools of 8.49 to 8.53

  We have little javascript which reads and modifies the data in the html grid once the page is loaded in 8.49. Any grid / grid page navigation would, of course, a trip to the server and javascript code would be just re - run on the page.

  8.54 Grids are transferred via AJAX - so that the page will load everything first, then the grid is loaded after... so any modification of the grid, I suppose, will no longer cause a page refresh.

  My question is - can anyone suggest the best way to hang on in the grid of Peoplesoft and call code javascript after the grid has loaded and whenever the change in the data grid (IE view another page of the grid)?

  I have the same problem with pagelets too, but guess that the grid would be similar to pagelets.

  The benefits of user experience of 8.54 are great. One of the problems I had with Ajax and JavaScript, however, is exactly what you mention:'re missing us this trigger that identifies the data and the loading of the page changes. The solution that I use is to override the net. ContentLoader and net2. The ContentLoader object methods. I save a pointer to the old version and reset to use my version. All PeopleSoft Ajax calls work through these methods. Prior to 8.54 I must add my code to any supplied HTML definition. From 8.54, you can create your own definition of JavaScript that contains the version of your"punch Monkeypatched/duck" of net2. ContentLoader then add it globally or to a specific aid of the new component branding options in 8.54. I refer to this technique in a few blog posts and comments on my blog. The most glaring example, however, probably is in this post: Jim's PeopleSoft Journal: Monkey Patching PeopleSoft.

  In taskflow for properties of method call, you must return a value when you use #{pageFlowScope.returnvalue} (returnvalue is a variable), so you can use your return value in the taskflow... Please let me if this is correct...

I wish I could rinse the swf 'about' so only "concepts" are display, in this example.  Thank you!

  I'm looking for a way to command line / automated generation of files .swf for multimedia files that I have in my application. At some point, there could be hundreds of videos in the directory and the application allows users to download media on the server.
  
  I know how to create .fla, files .as etc. to a file using CS3, but I hope there is an easier way to generate these swf files.

  I'm working on an e-Learning project that uses a main SWF (SWF1) and a second SWF (SWF2) with 2 quizzes in it. Published in the ATMOSPHERE for Desktop and Android, SWF1 and SWF2 are packed together in the Office of AIR or AIR APK exports.

  I use a charger in SWF1 to compose and execute SWF2. What I am having difficulties with, need help, is how to get 2 2 SWF2 quiz scores and load these values (each is a number) return SWF1. Once back in SWF1, they will be written to a string and then displayed in a text box using textbox.text.

  While I searched online and found examples to send variables from parent to child of the SWF file, so far not able to find an example of script understandable/useable AS3 to get variables from child to parent SWF.

  Any help appreciated.

  The best way to communicate between parent and child SWFs is through events. Send an event to the child with the data to send and intercept the event to the parent level. This flow is common and very easy to handle

• best way to flash to the structure of the site... classes? XML? layer actions?

  I'm doing a website.  The Web site will have several components:

  • a preloader, which will host while content is loading.
  • an external browser, full intro slideshow swf that will work until it is clicked on a menu item and will work again when the user clicks a button 'House' in the main menu.
  • a main menu, which will be accordion style and using some fades of tweenlite/greensock etc..
    
  • several external swf that is loaded based on the user's selection in the main menu.  This will be the "pages" which have different slideshows, text etc..

  
  I learned how to do all of these things since the timeline and with a layer of actionscripts.  Should I be coding this in a document and through xml class?  Is it possible, with the knowledge that I have to do all these components on the line time and an actions layer, to make it more efficient and less load time if I do via a document class / xml?  Can anyone recommend the best way to organize a flash like this site?  I read that the sites should be done through classes with xml and coding not only on the first frame of the timeline; However, I'm not sure what kind of site, it seems to be.  This is a site for a small architecture firm, which will be river photos of the projects, descriptions, etc.

  You use classes to organize your code - and so you can reuse code more easily and you can be as granular as you want - or you can paste all code into a single document class... that would really be better than putting in the timeline... Finally unless you write your code in an external editor like FlashDevelop, which is loads better than writing code in Flash.  You use XML if you need to read some data... whatever it is and want / need to be editable outside of Flash. But you could also just use a database and PHP. It's really a matter of what you are comfortable with. Using external coding and classes are all simply better in every way with a script code... so I'd say just take the leap and learn to do it "right".
