  I can assure you that you can certainly connect using the tool of administration of a BI 11 g client install on a 32-bit Windows machine to a BI 11 g RPD on a 64-bit BI server online (my server is RHEL 5). You have not need a client-side install of WLS. You need not any schema RCU more. However, you must create an ODBC connection to your customer. Start Run odbcad32 - then create a system DSN. Even on a single node installation the port will be the port cluster (8706) not the bi port server (8703). Click on test to test the ODBC connection. Success?

  Yes, 100% you must have privileges to SYS. You cannot proceed without it. When you run the rcu utility, it will ask for db host, port, sid, SYS username, password. NOW, this remote is a great giant sql Script (s), which creates schemas, and Tablespaces, users, Tables, views, sequences, etc.. Regional coordinating unit must therefore details SYS. Some people will try to manually create these 2 patterns such as bi_platform, bi_mds and try to run the RCU. But it won't work.

  An option is, give the UCR Zip file to your SYS DBA self-introduction. Give him instructions. As unpack it and run the rcu.bat file. Its very simple. It takes about 15 meters. Procedure step by step, you can and let DB guys to do themselves.

  And Yes, you can run the RCU from any operating system like Windows or Linux. So in your case use Windows. All you need is db host, port, sid, user name, password for SYS SYS. That's all.

• CFGFWK-64217, try to run the wizard config fmw

  My goal is to install the OSB on a Windows7 64 bit laptop. Try to download OSB, I ended up with pots of fmw_12.1.3.0.0_soa_quickstart since the SOA Suite downloads (download OSB redirects there).

  I understand compatibility guide (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/fusion-middleware/documentation/fmw-1213certmatrix-2226694.xls), the Weblogic Server for 12.1.3.0.0 requires an Oracle DB 12.1.0.1 version or some versions of 11.x.

  So I downloaded Oracle DB 12.1.0.1, installed the service by default ORCL and it starts.

  I then ran my Installer FMW_quickstart (OSB but not SOA suite installation) successfully, and was correctly executed the RCU.bat.

  I ran the config.cmd Wizard very well just before the bit where she checked all the fine regional coordination unit configurations. I made no changes to the schema component JDBC and clicked on next, but it is where I get CFGFWK-64217: JDBC data source validation failed (passwords do not match). The schema password is correct. I found another person asking this exact question using MySQL and answer, they got was that their MySQL was incompatible.

  According to the docs, I have all the compatible versions of DB + FMW. I am stuck on this error and cannot complete the installation. Can someone please help me unwedge this process?

  Well the soa QuickStart is sufficient and meant for development only. It is to have a small footprint to support the development of SOA and OSB panels and run and test services on the laptop.

  It will work to run against MQ and external JMS providers. It is not supported for Production. If you want to use for purposes of test/ACC/prod, then you should not use the fast start but the deployment of Enterprise downloads. You can get those edelivery.oracle.com. You need an oracle (free) account to connect. Search for 'Oracle SOA Suite for Oracle Middleware'.

• RCU throws an error when creating schema for IOM

  The problem is I want to do some POC for healthcare scenarios, as I currently work in a basic health project.
  
  I installed Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.5.0. As part of the SOA Suite installation, the following components have been installed.
  1 oracle database
  2 Weblogic server
  3. REGIONAL COORDINATION UNIT
  4 SOA Suite
  5 JDeveloper
  6 extension for JDeveloper SOA
  
  Therefore, to improve the SOA Suite for the construction of scenarios of healthcare, I'm stuck upward with the following questions:
  
  1. what install everything?
  2. where can I find the downloadable necessary?

  If you want to work on a CEP then please use Oracle SOA 11.1.1.6 for the integration of health care. It is not recommended to use the PS4 (11.1.1.5).
