  I am currently using first RT 5.1.  I know, I know, it's old.  Before anyone arrives on my case, I did this as a career once.  I went to film school, interned and learned to edit using a Matrox computer and design software.  After that I left this job, I changed my direction, moved and became a MOM full time.  I dabbled in video projects from once or twice a year to make extra money.  I bought a system used since a former client who is 10 years old.  At this point in our lives, money grocery is quite rare, so I'm not anywhere close to buy the new version of first.  But I can't keep going like this.  I spent 3 full days trying to edit together a simple video of my son's Christmas pre-school program.  It would have taken me 3 hours.  I'm now through cheap consumer software just to be able to finish it.

  My question is this: should I buy the new Premiere Elements or an older version of Pro on ebay.  The little money that I should do on DVD from other parents should be able to give me that choice.  I can't wait to get down to a consumer version of the edition, but I guess having Premiere Elements is always better than 5.1 eons.  Is there anyone who has used all of the above and can tell me what I lose if I go with elements?  My computer edition 10 year, is running on Windows 2000 and has many quirks (like sometimes does not turn on).  But I can usually treat through those.  For small projects, I like to use my laptop, so I can watch my kids.  I am running Vista with it (a computer mobile limited, at little cost).  I don't think I would mind keeping 5.1 on the computer of editing, since the entire system is in ancient.  But the laptop needs something more recent.

  Also, anyone have any suggestions for an alternative to the use of a large table of harmony?  Still, I can't afford a new soundboard.  But is there some kind of cheap version 2-4 entry just for plugging my few components?  I would like to have a few brand/model names to look for second-hand on ebay.  I think that my soundboard is officially passed to the category of Clipboard.  Is there someone who recycles these?

  One - be VERY CAREFUL if you buy on eBay... a lot of messages on scams and software pirate

  Two - PElements http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premiere_elements should do what you want... and will create a DVD

  Some messages in this forum about v8 causing problems, but also need to 'more' material to work, so PE7 might be your best bet

  Again, be very careful if you buy on eBay

  For old or software used http://www.emsps.com/oldtools/ or http://www.retrosoftware.com/ look at these two locations, or check at any of the major online stores to see if they still have a PE7 in stock

  I am interested in the great "all-in-one office" XPS 18 tablet.  But there are two versions, £100 apart in price. What does one give more expensive, apart a seemingly faster processor?  I don't see any other difference in spec.

  And is it really useful?

  The only really much CPU work, I would probably do is the management of photos via Adobe Lightroom, and eventually, I might change occasionally short videos.  I don't know enough about computers to know if the faster version would make much difference.  I don't really play games.

  This is the forum USA, so I don't know what difference is offered for your country.

  I can tell you that a little more big processor makes the computer drive and operate a bit faster and smoother. If your order shows site, an I - 5 or I-7 of the base you can choose either and it would work.

  Hi Ian,

  Since you have Audition 2.0, you can download an update of Audition 3 free of charge.  First of all, visit download Acrobat 7 and CS2 products and click on English , then locate Audition 3.0 in the list.  Click the link for the ADBEAudition_ESD1_WWEFGJIS.exe file and use the serial number appearing next to which are connected during installation.  Then you should be able to continue the cleaning of your recordings.

  Of course, you have the SATA driver installed first, if you want to install one of the Windows OS (Vista or XP)
  Many people have already installed XP on the L40 PSL40E and they didn't update the BIOS!
