    What's up guys!

    Hello:

Please see the link to the service manual for your laptop.  Page 1-2 shows a maximum of only 2 GB of memory is supported.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01311536.PDF

If your laptop has an Intel processor, there is no update of the BIOS. The update of the BIOS listed is only for laptops with AMD processors.

  • D10 BIOS AND O/S SHOWING ONLY HALF THE RAM INSTALLED

Computor was purchased with 8 1gig chips installed. The bios and the operating system report 4 GB.

When I remove the ram in slot 2, 4, 6 and 8, the bios and the o/s report 2 gig.

I have cleared the cmos memory and reinstall the RAM chips.

Although the seller insists on the memory chips live are all good, I think that my next step would be to draw all and reinstall them one by one. What is the best way to do this, start with slot 1 and 3 and then add one piece at a time and restart?

The problem has been resolved. It turns out that the RAM chips come from different manufacturers. 6 microns and 2 Samsung. All the chips worked well within the brand but do not work well together, I guess with some timing differences. I got all installed Samsung and all 8 concerts now appear.

  • Portege R500 - Upgrade processor and RAM

Can I put in my proceror R500 and RAM?
Is possible? If Yes, how can you procesor I used?

    Robert

    Hello

    You can upgrade the RAM.
You can use the DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) or 533 MHz 200 - PIN SODIMM modules.
You can use a 1 GB RAM module this is the max!
There is also an internal RAM which can be removed if only one slot is expandable!

With regard to upgrading the CPU.
Usually it s not advised to replace/upgrade of the processor because the BIOS has not been tested with other processors

  • Satellite S3000-214: HD and RAM upgrade

I want to upgrade a Satellite S3000-214 with a new hard drive and RAM.
Anyone know how I can upgrade the HD? It is currently only 20 GB.
About the RAM, I tried to upgrade before but abandoned after Misco sent me upgrades wrong a few times. Does anyone know a supplier who could have a sales team could sell me the good memory?

    Any help would be appreciated.

It is possible to upgrade the HDD up to 30 GB.
The BIOS should recognize this format without any problem. You can use a simple 2.5 bus master IDE HDD.

It is also possible a memory upgrade for max 1024 MB

  • Pavilion dv7-2050sm: SSD and RAM upgrade questions

    Hello

I have two question about upgrading my laptop. I use it for web surfing, movies, some excellent/word work etc... for the most part on a regular basis.

    (1) I have seen that my RAM can be upgraded to 8 GB. Currently, I am working at 1333 MHz 4RAM. If I buy 2 x 4 GB 1600 MHz will it work on this laptop, I went into the BIOS and have not seen that I can change the speed of ram anywhere nor has seen how much can this support for portable computers, so should I buy 1x4Go 1333 MHz instead if it only supports 1600 MHz.

    (2) can I put my disk HARD 700 GB Seagate 5400 RPM SATA II 3.0 Gbps with Samsung 850EVO 250 GB SSD? I know that SATA III drives are retro-compatible meaning can work on SATA II but is it useful, how much speed will I use if my laptop does not support SATA III.

    Laptop computer product number: B4E42EA

    Chipset: AMD A70M FCH

    CPU: Improved A6 4460 M to 4600 M A10

    Thank you!

It will not run at 1600 mhz just so buy another 4 GB of DDR3-1333 memory. The SSD is the best upgrade you can do. Certainly worth. SSD SATA-III will work fine on a SATA-II bus. There is very little difference in actual operation.

  • 7020us dv7: Hp Dv7 7020us try to reinstall windows 7 from USB with new HD and RAM sticks.

    Hello

In a bit of an affair with my Dv7. The laptop started to meet a load of startup error. Try using the recovery in Start menu tool led to a blank screen. You try to start windows normally flashed a blue screen too fast to read and then started the boot sequence all over again. I made a recovery from USB on my HP m6 s SO. However try to boot from the drive did nothing to change the way the computer tries to start.

I decided to simply upgrade to a 1 TB Toshiba HD and 16 GB of RAM. Everything installed with ease by making sure that I was not on the carpet and have myself grounded to the metal structure of the laptop while working on it. However, starting with the new HD, I get the error SMART 301. If I try to run a diagnosis of HD happens "Not available" as the result of INTELLIGENT analysis and short-and long-term. I don't get then the no display device bootable detected. I tried to play with all the settings of the BIOS without changing boot.

I don't know what to do now any guide I found said to use the recovery disk/drive in the boot menu. All of the guides I found for the creation and verification of a recovery device assumes that you have access to a functional desktop.

Could I really have gotten a bad HD or s it showing not available because it is not configured for the SMART test?

Any help is appreciated. I really enjoyed the two Dv7 I've owned and do not want it to turn into a paperweight.

Although he remained until about 03:00, I had actually work on my own after few more search.

I found a discussion saying that USB flash drives created using the Recovery Manager contains the recovery tool, but not a copy of windows for the restoration of the system. Given that I made a copy of the recovery media with my m6 SO, I was out of luck.

Do some research more I found an article from a reputable site which links to a mirror of the files digitalriver. I don't link or discuss much more I know most of the forums do not like the word 't'.

I however checked checksum SHA1 file against the official registration of the ISO file windows.

Formatted the USB stick which was the Manager of recovery on it and turned it into a bootable USB key. Downloaded the drivers listed on the site of HP to get my WiFi market to download the rest of them directly on the Dv7.  All checks very well now. The 1 TB HD no longer displays the 301 error.

I tried to reset the BIOS and make also a BIOS for emergency return to zero. Not more than anything.

Thanks for the reply it would have been interesting to see what we could have done.

Can you confirm what I've read about the creation of recovery media regarding the USB is different from a CD?

  • BIOS and Windows 64 bit 8.1 does not see rM 8 GB

    Buy Acer E5 - 572G NX. MQ0EL.005.

    It has 4 GB of RAM (Samsung 12800 1600 mhz) then bought a bar - Crucial 4 GB DDR3 PC3 - 12800 CL11 SO - DIMM CT51264BF160BJ.

Place it in the second slot.

Result - BIOS shows only 4 GB of RAM and Windows shows same 4 GB RAM (something aroung 3.8 GB)

Tried to replace the second stick of ram but same result.

    Any ideas what's happening?

Tried to run laptop with only Crucial working stick - BIOS 4 GB

Then tried to place again noticed two poles that stick in second slot is not placed correctly (pins were visible), place it with more force, so that the pins are not visible and now it works.

Once in the BIOS and Windows - 8 GB of RAM.

    Thanks, IronFly.

  • UPDATE THE BIOS AND HARD DRIVE

Hi, I'm going to do a clean install of win. 7 home Premium and I would like to upgrade the Bios and installing a hard drive SSD 120 GB and 2 GB of ram.

3200AAJS-60M0A0 320 GB WD HARD DRIVE

    Intel pentium dual core 2.6

    PC built Sept 2009

I looked at the Hp site but could not find an update for my bios.  Mobo is Foxconn Eton 1.0 and the Bios is FRIEND 5.05 25.09.2009

A scan utility (Bios Agent) indicates that there is an update, but they require payment for flashing the bios.  In case I have some concerns, and many would prefer to download Hp or Foxconn.  I looked on the sites Web from Foxconn and FRIEND, but they require a lot & a lot of information that I don't have and don't know where to find them. I was hoping someone might have the same PC to give me information.

Also to install the disk SSD drive I brobably would need an adapter to allow the reader to 2.5 inches to fit into the drive 3.5 "bracket. Apart from this, the connectors on the SSD drives all seem to be the same.  is this correct please or will it take a SSD and a specific to my PC case and my existing hard drive adapter.

    Thank you

Hi thanks for your help, advice and information: my PC was purchased in January 2009 is a little more than 4 years.  The upgrade would cost 130 pounds. I could not buy a decent PC with 4 GB ram and an SSD for under £500.   I do not download music or movies, or make more than a small base video editing so I'm sure that with these improvements, there will be more than enough for me.

One thing doesn't bother me.  It seems that when buying a PC Bios updates are available for the first 2/3 years, but not thereafter.  It would not have occurred to me to look for an update of the bios, during this period just simply because I thought that they were issued only when necessary to take into account improvements and new technologies so thanks for that. you live & learn.

I'm trying to teach me the 'nuts & bolts' repair and fix PC problems and I guess that's the main use for my PC.  Experiment with a new £500 Pc would scare me to death.

I'm on Linux Ubuntu 13.1 without any problems on my PC Dell 9 years and XP Pro on my HP Pavilion 13, so maybe I can do my Compaq last a little longer.

Once again thank you very much.  its part of the process of learning.  see you soon

  • HP DV6 of the computer stopped working after the update of the Bios and Memoryupgrade

    HP DV6 - 3161EO

    XE068EA #UUW

Hi, I bought a brand new HP with Intel I5 processor computer and GUI double, its been working well so far and I thought that I should upgrade the Bios and memory as well.

So I did, I bought memory 10600 and crusial 12600 and corsair, a single and two put in correspondence of the sticks, just to be in business, and I've updated the bios. of F.13 to F.29

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4063&LC=SV&CC=se&DLC=SV&sw_lang=&product=4344...

The computer worked perfectly for about 4-5 hours, then there are allmost quite dead.

Ive tried to pass on different memorycabsm like the original samsungs that came with the computer.

Ive tried the famous "hard reset".

Nothing, the computer starts "boots" but don't approach the entered message turnes off.

    Presedure same each time.

Any memory I put in, the same result.

Ive used different powerbricks, turned of the computer resets hard, between 10s 2 min, picked up the bios battery, has offered free energy.

Let the rest of the computer for half a day, put it all together exept cmos battery = exactly the same as before.

"take out all the memories and the computer works and get that caps lock flashing light.

    So my question is this

Why you encourage people to update, when it's clearly the fault at hand.

Sell your computers with 8 GB of ram from the beginning so the people do not have upgraded later because your hardware is not able to manage different memorycaps of accepted and authorized as crusial or corsair providers.

Ive built perhaps 50-60 computers and had about 10 laptops and NEVER had a fault like this.

My laptop $1200 is useless, and I actually held you at HP responsible of it.

The computer is of course out of warranty, so its my own falult, as usual.

«A simple question, is there a way to 'force' a new bios on the Board, without memory of the computer, because it is the only time where it works and works welll.»

    Thnx, 'a sick owner HP.

For later use, it's really kff upward, but I got it working again.

1 changed the original memorycabs for much faster, 1600 mhz, I know that this mobo doesn't support, but he did start the computer, so I could run the Windows + arrows Bios recover.

Installed the HP bios tools F10 + GIS and it worked.

so I guess I have to myself a thank you and a boost of the kudosbutton, hahah

Well, when your computer went down, don't give up and try everything you can, this prob took me about 3-4 days to eradicate, but now its working again.

    See you soon

  • The SSD and RAM upgrade

I have the 13-inch Retina Display early 2015 model. It contains 128 GB SSD and 8 GB of RAM.

I wanted to update both of them. Is this possible? I agree with HARD drive even if that is supported. 128 GB is not enough for me actually.

    Help, please.

Without the SSD and RAM are both not upgradable.

One option is to sell your computer and use the money to buy a new one with the features you need.

There are two options to add an HD card to your card HD slot. Both options will be flush with the case.

  • Satellite U300 - help hardware upgrade to SSD and RAM

    Hello world
I want to completely upgrade my toshiba satellite U300-140, mount VISTA and default the technical features, posted above.

I need your help to choose the best (and economic) device SSD and RAM slot. It is very important for me to know what is probably compatible with my device. Please, could you help me in your experience?

And... an SSD is worthy, at the speed of my laptop? I was thinking about kingston 120 Gb or 240 GB V300

    http://www.Toshiba.it/discontinued-p...Lite-U300-14O/

According to specification for laptop, you can be upgraded up to 4 GB RAM in order to use 2 x 2 GB of RAM. The compatible RAM modules have PA3513U-1M2G part number.

I think with SSD, you shouldn't have any problems. I updated my old P500 with 250 GB Samsung 840 SSD and it works perfectly.

  • Updated satellite A20-S103 - CPU and RAM

I have toshiba satellite a20-s103 and I want to spend the cpu and ram.

I need more to upgrade the processor that the RAM, the socket is socket p, please if you find any compatible cpu or ram from e - bay or if you find elsewhere, new cpu, or second hand in a good situation, please report it!

and please tell me if intel core 2 duo or quad is compatible
If you find the intel core 2 quad or compatible with that laptop duo, please report!

    Thank you very much!!!

    Guess what buddy.
    Forget the CPU upgrade!

It is a very old notebook support old chipset.
I'm quite sure that the chipset would not support Intel Core CPU m.

In addition, the memory can be improved up to 1 GB of RAM (2 x 512 MB)
    More is not possible.

In my opinion, if you need more performance, buy a laptop (maybe good work 2nd unit) supporting the newer parts.

  • Computer laptop keyboard and mouse does not work (updated Bios and took the batttery)

    I have HP G60-530US.

I read all the posts that talked about updating the BIOS and then by doing a hard reset by removing the power cable and speaking on the battery and then hit the power button for a minute or simply to leave the computer for several minutes.

A lot of people seems to have solved their problems.  Not me.

I updated the BIOS and also did the hard reset like 10 times.  What other options are there?

I have Windows 7-64 bit.  This problem occurred after I did the updates windows 11/04/13 or 12/04/13.

Mouse power switch and the power button wifi button keys are the only ones that seem to work.

    Hello

Go back to the device, right click on the Device Manager and select uninstall - when it is finished, restart the laptop.

    Any change?
