BIS? Help, please
Hello
I'm goin' to develop a simple application for a customer. The app is designed to load information from a Web Server / database via xml. My client does not have a BES or BIS, do they need BES or BIS for this kind of app?
What is the best approach?
and what are the disadvantage of direct connection without BIS or BES?
and also what are the benefits of using BIS or BES?
What is the best option for the http for bb devices connection.

BlackBerry need a data plan to connect to the Internet.
BES is the company/organization using exchange or novel e-mail server and a BES server on internal infrastructure. BES need licenses for each user.
BIS connection is more flexible, any user using this data plan for BlackBerry and sign up to the carrier/telco.
I think that your client should decide the Organization will register as a company, BES
or they want just a BlackBerry application that can connect to a Web server?
If the target application that connect to a Web server, I think that they only have an ENCORE.
If they want to access an internal network within their organization, they need a BES.

I am trying to install the SDK of BBM on my PC.
I followed the instructions on the start following guide: -.
(1) first of all, I had to update my JDE and JRE of 1.6.14 to 1.6.26 versions so I uninstalled all older versions of Java and installed 1.6.26.The JRE do not settle in the folder by default (JRE 1.6.0_26) but in a folder called jre6
(2) after I implemented the SDM as indicated in the instructions. I created the shortcut to MDS with the target as required.
(3) after that I tried to run the MDS, but it did not work because the unlimited encryption settings are not configured. So I replaced the files in the folder "JRE6/lib/Security" with the jce policy files. After that, the MDS worked very well.
(4) I had already installed the simulators (5.0 and 6.0) so I ran both sim1.bat and sim2.bat in the 5.0 folder. The simulators showed THAT BBM 6.0 has been installed. But after I tried the sim2 guest sim1 BBM and vice versa, it appears just as pending in the BBM and I don't get requests in the invited simulators.
Can someone please help me solve this problem? I repeated this procedure a countless number of times, but I can't always connect the simulators to the other.
Additional notes:
(1) when I opened the simulators, I see some messages in the MDS. So I can assume MDS has been installed properly?
(2) I cannot browse the internet using browsers on a simulator.
(3) as when I go to manage connections service status BIS and BES services are indicated as not connected. This means that the installer is not done correctly?
