BitLocker error "failure of restoration of a conversion completed abruptly BitLocker Drive Encryption. "Can be either all newspapers of conversion being corrupt or the media is write protected."

Please help me with a solution

If this does not work... http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee523219(v=WS.10).aspx .. examine the contents of the drive and the drive itself lost forever.

BitLocker is the Windows utility for free one that really mean, and it does EXACTLY what it says on the box, BUT if the disk on which it is enabled has a problem for SOME reason, the results are catastrophic.

When I tried to back up my files, I got an error (0 x 80070013) indicating that the media is write-protected. How can I solve this problem? Thank you for your time, Shawn

You may not have the correct permissions or own the medium on which you try to perform the backup.  Here are some instructions on how to give you the right permissions and Take Ownership (if necessary).

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder/drive, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/. In this csse make sure grant you full permissions and check also advanced special permissions (including the inherited permissions) which can substitute for this entry to limit your rights by assembling as well.

To resolve this problem with folders or drive, take possession of the records or the reader (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).  You can keep them in read-only to other users, customers and administrators even (although they can support themselves and access, if they wish, and it is really not that you can do to stop it except protect the file with a password by using a 3rd party product.)  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • Cannot remove the Photos from an SD card in the card reader in Windows 7 error "is an error error application attributes - produced - the media is write protected."

Please check the post from Jetta48 on this article, for the workaround to resolve your concern.

    Have a nice day ahead!

I agree with you and think it had something to do with a Windows Update. I got this computer with Windows 7 for a couple of years and it took until this month I got the problem. Cannot delete the photos when the card reader is on a Windows 10 computer either.

  • Fax and Scan Error - Message could not be sent. Media is write protected

I have a PC with Windows Vista Ultimate on it.  Turns off user access control.  On the sign as Admin will have all the rights.

Windows Fax and Scan works very well for a long time.  Had a modem comes to shove, he replaced everything works fine.

In the last day or two - with no known changes to the system - the system is no longer send and receive faxes.

It gives me an error-"message could not be sent.  the media is write protected. »

This happens if I try to send a fax directly from the Windows fax software or if I try to "print" a document by fax.

When you receive a fax - it gives a similar error.

It works as records receive faxes are unalterable and, if I look at their properties in Explorer.  I try to uncheck Read-only and it acts like it works only when I get back - read-only is still selected.

Other times I tried to make changes to access to the files by Windows Fax, fax settings - but it tells me that I have to be logged on as administrator to make these changes and I signed up as an administrator - the only Director on the PC.

I also removed the Fax profile and recreated.  I think that the question is the property read-only on my directory of fax, but for some reason that seems locked on.

I also shot the back, rebooted, turned off UAC back, rebooted and tried to change the settings of RO, no luck.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

Read-only for folders is normal (mine are).  See if this fix works for you:

Fax Error: The message could not be sent. Media is write protected

  • Error "Media is write-protected" reading file on Windows Vista Edition .pvc full

    OT:media is write protected

In Vista Ultimate, when I try to read a file .pvc of Panasonic using Panasonic Ved1_VM1_Player mini, it says "Media is protected of Scripture." I sent the file to two other computers, one running XP and one running Vista Basic. The audio file will run without incident using the mini-Player. How can I remove the write protect from the file in Vista Ultimate?

    Hi Polaris380,

Method 1: Check in the drive for all parameters read the file.

Method 2: This may be a problem with DRM (Digital Rights Management), if your computer does not all rights to use media for files you have received, you may encounter these problems. In this case you can contact Panasonic for the rights to use read the file on the computer of the problem.

  • BitLocker Drive Encryption

    Hello

I started the encryption on my Win7 Ultimate. that day I locked and unlocke with my password. Afetr that I reinstalled Win7Professional. but I coudnt unlock this drive. Then, I asked the question here, in this community. They said to re install ultimate again and try to remove the encryption. Then I tried now. but tell her again the same tha the password is incorrect. The bad news is that I lost my recovery for the encryption key. Please help me with this problem. I have a lot of important things in this player.

    Thank you...

We would agree with what said that Frederik Long . BitLocker is used to encrypt your files and protects your data in case your device is lost or stolen. The only way to access your files on this disc is to enter the Bitlocker key or password. If you don't remember what is it, you must accept the fact there is no other way to access it again, unless you had the key to recovery for this drive.

  • What happens if I forget to remove my key (Flash DRIVE) storage media after the Bitlocker Drive encryption key is responsible?

I'm new to BitLocker and don't know much about computers in general. I do not have a TPM, so I use a USB key containing the BitLocker encryption key to start Windows. Everything works fine. I don't, however, forgot to remove the USB after that and also when you restart the computer. This could be a security problem if I am connected to the Internet? (I'm alone and therefore am not worried else wanting to access the computer in person.) I'd appreciate any help I could get with this question.

    Hi Tombroilt,

If you are only using the computer, then it is not a security problem. If you connect to the computer. I suggest you to see the following links for more information.

  • I forgot my recovery bitlocker drive encryption key. Help, please

I forgot the Bitlocker drive encryption recovery key... Help, please

    THX,

    Ashish

    Say goodbye to your data.

You'll just have to reinstall and reactivate your license.

If you don't remember the 48-character encryption key (which would be) or you did not write it or not create a USB encryption key to decrypt the drive at startup, then you experience the effectiveness of encryption.

    Sincere apologies.

  • How to restore a full backup of the Server 2008 system that has been stored on a BitLocker Drive encrypted?

I have a requirement to encrypt my server for transport off-site backups, so I'll try to store my backups to an external drive that is encrypted for BitLocker.  I am doing a test restore to a new drive to simulate a full system recovery, but I'm unable to unlock the drive encrypted with the backup of the prompt under system recovery options.

I have confirmed that I can unlock the drive from a command inside the original Windows installation prompt using manage - bde.wsf and the recoverypassword, but the same command does not work from the command prompt during the recovery process (started from the installation DVD).  There is no error code, a single message that the recovery key did not work and administrator privileges may be required.

When you try the same command from another server when connected to that drive, I got an error that can be informative, code 0 x 80310037, implying that the recovery key may not because of the FIPS compatible algorithms that are needed.

I'm looking for something that isn't possible trying to store the complete system on a BitLocker encypted disk backups?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

  • C BitLocker drive Encryption in Windows 7 Enterprise

    Hello

I have motherboard active TPM. I encrypted drive C: by BitLocker. I want to know if the hard drive is stolen, what will happen? The computer will boot with the hard drive stolen?

    Thank you best regards &,.

    Sourav Dasgupta

The computer will boot with the hard drive stolen?

No, it won't. However, the more important question is: can the thief the disc? For an authoritative answer, you must perform this simple test:

    1. Connect the drive as one secondary drive to another machine.
    2. Start Windows and log on to an admin account.
    3. Check if you can read data on the second drive.

If privacy is important, so you satisfy yourself with the answers of the interviewees. They might, or are may not be incorrect. You must do what would be a thief.

  • Spectrum of HP x 360 (Lake of set): error during the update of the Bios (c2-error: the region is write-protected)

Just got the new spectrum x 360 with processor i7 to set Lake.  I love most everything on it, but it's hot in the upper left corner, and temperatures are in the order of 80-90 during a normal charge.  Research of solutions possible and a common solution seems to ensure that the Bios is updated.

HP Wizard jumped by chance in a message on a Bios updated available.  Perfect timing, so I thought.  Update downloaded BIOS ok, but during the installation, I got the error c2-error message: region is write protected.

Reflection on the update of the Bios?  I know that one of the recommendations is not not to date Bios at least that something does not work.  Everything seems to work fine, but I think I should update it Bios to see if it solves the problem of heat.  Thoughts on that?

    Thank you.

Thank you.   It's the strangest thing.  Despite having the error message above and the Bios update process pretending stops, when I rebooted hours later, the Bios updated.  I checked, and it is now the latest version.

    Guess my problem is solved.
