  • DNG files appear darker after importing in Lightroom

I just started with the demo version of Lightroom, having always managed so far with Photoshop and Bridge. There are a lot of things about Lightroom that I like, however, I am a little confused on why DNG files especially who were already resolved using the ACR in Photoshop are change appearance after having been imported into Lightroom, if I select an image, and in general, they become quite a bit more dark. With thousands of images to process I really want to be in a situation where they all need adjustment once again, so I was wondering if anyone knows why this is happening?

In both cases my chosen, work space is Adobe RGB and Lightroom do these changes if yes or no I option lets you apply adjustments to your car in development. Another folder that contains only files Tif and Jpeg derivatives does not seem to be affected in the same way.

According to your description, it seems that the JPEG preview embedded in JPEG format is based on the image before the ACR changes *. Fortunately, it is quite easily solved in Lr, less (actually less obvious) in Camera Raw.

In the grid view, select all images, then select Update DNG previews and metadata in the metadata. Be warned that it will probably take some time that Lr has to recreate the DNG files in the background.

    * in general, this occurs when you convert the raw unedited files originals to DNG using the DNG Converter.

  • Missing photos, folders in Lightroom 6 after importation. Lightroom stores a copy of the photos that have been imported and if so where?

My nanny/photographer improved his Lightroom to worm. 6. She left the old version 4.4 on as well, so I think she just did a straight installation of v6. It has imported several hundred photos directly from memory cards in Lightroom 6, without copying the files on the computer. She was then abducted and subsequently deleted the pictures from the memory card. These records show now with a question mark in Lightroom, I imagine that it is looking for the files on the memory card. Bright room makes a copy of the files when they are imported or let just a pointer as to where they have been imported from?

She also found with multiple catalogs. CAT 1 is a little bigger, then Cat 3, but the House of light can not open the file and provides the following error message: "Lightroom cannot use the catalog named"Lightroom Catalog"because it is not writable and cannot be opened."

If TI LR retains a copy I was hoping they were perhaps in Cat 1, who was the first that was created.

    Thank you

    Chris

Someone has a misunderstanding about Lightroom and its import process. Importing images into Lightroom does not mean that Lightroom will ingest these images. The import process is one of saying Lightroom where to store the images on the hard drive. Then Lightroom keeps track of these images in this folder location and combines the image settings. If the images were imported in the usual way, they should be located in a folder on the hard disk.

If you say that the images were just imported while remaining on the map (I thought that Lightroom who wouldn't) then if they have not been copied to the hard drive you will have images. Just previews.

  • separating the jpg and raw files after import into lightroom 5

I would like to separate my jpg and raw files as soon as they are in lightroom (right after importation), so that all my jpg files are 1 after another on the Filmstrip below and my raw files are one after the other. is this possible?

In the grid view of the library, on the tool bar (T), replace "sort:" to "File Extension."

  • How to remove photos from the iPhone after import in Lightroom on Mac

I went back to Lightroom after opening was abandoned by Apple and I'm happy to be back. I can easily import photos from my iPhone 6 on my desk, but what to do with the pictures on my phone. With opening could easily automatically delete photos from the iPhone. I don't see anything similar in Lightroom. Do I have to remove my photos manually by selecting one at a time? I don't want to delete the folders that I created.

I'm not stored on the cloud or automatically sending my photos in Lightroom.

    Thank you

This function no longer exists in LR as Adobe says that it was originally people loose photos, accidentally I think, so it must be done manually. To be honest I never used no deletion automatic, I want to import and check all is well before any withdrawals!

  • Why my photos RAW Monochrome became color after import in Lightroom 4?

Recently, I took pictures with my EOS Kiss X 4 and have put the monochrome pictures in different shades, but when after I imported the LR4 they became colored. Is this because I took the RAW photos?

I used LR3 but I don't remember using RAW before, this is the first time I used the FIRST and put a picture on Monochrome, does that mean that the photo will be automatically replaced by its format of origin (in full color and default settings) when it's a RAW file bit matter monochrome settings?

Yes, by default, it uses adobe standard (except if you have installed LR to use a different profile by default).

but I Don t that your camera... so I Don t know if LR has the style of B & W photo.
Take a look at the profiles of camera calibration. If there is a B & W profile you can change this manually.

but you can always use RAW software own guns. DPP will honor the camera settings.

  • RAW NEF images are completely different (darker) when they are imported into Lightroom?

Recently I faced a problem for my RAW of NIKON D750 images after imported into Lightroom.

For example, the brightness of the RAW images I shot in the camera is completely different after imported into Lightroom.

Yes, the RAW files include more data that can be adjusted backwards in brighter in Lightroom, but it occurs the most noise to the image that I don't really like.

I just curious is my setting in camera (maybe the screen is too bright perhaps?) or it is common that viewing through the camera LCD screen is brighter than the visualization in Lightroom?

Behind closed doors (the brightness I want):

    20150606_122350.jpg

    Through Lightroom:

If you want to be in non-Nikon raws software processing, turn off the ADL and leave it off.   The same applies to other settings where the camera is something special for lighting or the brightness of the camera jpg.

ADL will deliberately underexpose the image, then artificially pushed the dark areas while leaving only brighter area.  This more dynamic compress in the camera-jpg, but will make no-Nikon software see the true underexposed image.

  • RAW of Nikon D810 images appear darker after importation develop mode - why?

    Hello

I have a problem with the LR. I shoot in raw, and after copying the files on my pc, I choose several pictures and import them into LR. After this step, I want to continue with the mode of development. Subsequently the following problem: the image in the develop mode has changed - it's much darker and the colors aren't the samet. Even if I change the example flat camera mode I get the same resuslt as the original raw file. I do not understand the problem - maybe you can help me?

    Thanks in advance

    Jurek

    Camera: Nikon D 810

    LR version 5.7

The color space, running on the development module and the library module is completely indifferent to what looks like your image. It is not serious, and the difference is extremely subtle and really visible only on the screens of the range very high-end. In addition, color space in develop is not prophotoRGB, it is once again a linear gamma with primary prophotoRGB but space called MelissaRGB which is quite different, not important for this.

He must know one thing more to diagnose your problem: when you return to the library, the images are dark or do they go back to the Lite version? If so, you are dealing with several possibilities. The first is as already mentioned a monitor profile. You should re - calibrate your monitor with hardware calibration. If you don't have that, test that possibility by assigning the sRGB profile to your monitor in the monitor properties pane. If this fixes it, you must get a puck of calibration to calibrate your monitor, the problem is caused by a bad monitor profile that has been installed by an update of the system. These are very common on the windows platform and even if other applications behave normally, that is the question.

Second option is that your graphics card is not dealing with well GPU acceleration and omitting the color management. Test by going in the Lightroom preferences, selecting the tab performance and power of the graphics card acceleration off. Restart Lightroom and check. (update: I see that you are on LR 5.7: this option does not exist here so ignore this notice)

If none of these fix the problem, and after that you spent to develop, the image is too dark in the library, that several other issues could occur. First is that you may have set a default value for the camera. Make sure the settings are zero on your images after importation. They could be zero if you apply a preset to the importation, or when you set a default development setting. Reset it by going to preferences-> presets, and then click 'reset all settings default development. " You see the change of the image when you go in develop because the library, firstly the jpeg preview the generated camera is shown and only when you are going to develop is the actual raw image get rendered by Lightroom.

Another issue that could happen is that you use dynamic lighting on your camera modes. Nikon calls these active D-lighting. You must completely disable those. What the camera does when you have those active is to underexpose the image by a stop or two and then highlights the tag of the raw image with an indicator that shows the Nikon software to increase exposure compensation and make an HDR processing on the image to trigger shadows and bring down. Lightroom can not read these tags and just makes the image from raw data (which are underexposed!). In the library first see you the jpeg in-camera image and that the image was made by the camera using the HDR technique. You are better expose properly and leaving these modes if you want raw data of highest quality.

  • Missing Photos after importation of Aperture

    Hello!

I did just the opening switch to Lightroom and I use version 1.1 of the plugin import Aperture.

I have in my Aperture library, according to library-> Photos: Photos of 11105, however after import in Lightroom, I only 10967 photos. I checked the import log and there are 4 items that could import - 3 were files .mpo (panoramas of a xPeria) and 1 was a .gif file. That leaves a deficit of 133 photos that I can't explain.

Is it possible to compare the aperture library to the lightroom library to see what is missing?

Hope you find your system developed problems.

I ended up exporting from successful to referenced.  First of all, I collapsed all of my folders nested in a single folder in Aperture, and then exported using a personal file FOLDER/PROJECT format, where the record was of the year, or the YEAR in JAPAN, where I had several nested projects.  Fast forward after the conversion, I then re-nested folder structure.

After you export all the photos of successful to referenced, I then used all the normal gymnastics in the opening to make sure that all images have been exported and 'online '.  About 15 were not, then I need to resolve these differences, which included duplicate references, mainly.  Once exported, I generated previews.  You're not dealing with previews, so I'll spare you the even longer discussion about how I needed to account for them.  In light of all of the files are external, it is easier to determine which files have not been imported into Lightroom.  I didn't have an anomaly.

Make sure you don't have duplicate keywords!  I thought I had, but due to the nature of nested keywords, I had a few references duplicated as 'portrait', I had used to mark the initial orientation of the photo, as well as the keyword Aperture stock.  Made a mess of things later.

Despite the hardships, even in running through the entire library before, I found myself running out of memory AND problems with the GPS.  I ended up using HoudahGeo to create files sidecar with GPS of opening data prior to importation.  After trying everything, I used a dark suggestion to run import on a build of Mac OS X instead of 10.10.3 10.9.4.  That seemed to do the trick.

A lot of things to clean up afterwards, but I can just leave it as what.  Wish that the faces are exportable now that Lightroom supports the faces, but I won't hold my breath.  Appears opening Adobe plug-in development is concluded.  Tens of thousands of assignments in Aperture.

Also sad to lose settings, but at least I have the keyword each parameter before exporting.

Almost all of the work must be done in the opening before the transition.  You watch just how flexible and versatile opening is still today.

Always curious to know how you will manage your conversion, so please keep posting!
