Black screen on the Satellite A100-712, after Bios Update

I bought a new Satellite A100-712 and I did a bios upgrade, everything was fine in windows and restart the laptop got it is pasted on the toshiba black screen that appears when you turn on the lapto.

Any suggestions please, I would be very grateful

It doesn't sound good. I did the BIOS update on two laptops A100 and everything was OK. Sorry, but I think that you will not be able to do anything alone. I recommend you contact the service authorized in your country as soon as possible.

    Help, please. WHICH IS: ACPI\TOS1901 * TOS1901

    Hello

ACPI-> Advanced Configuration and Power Interface
ACPI defines hardware and software interfaces that allow focus on the OS configuration and power management to enumerate and configure motherboard devices.
For example: ACPI is necessary for the standby and hibernation mode.

Now your question; the new BIOS has been updated and configured to using VISTA.
It seems that VISTA was not compatible with the previous version of BIOS because the ACPI interface. Now you can install Vista on the laptop, but it seems that you need a driver. Possibly new chipset driver version might help. But as you probably know, the drivers are not available at this time. Unfortunately

PS. I'm not configure pasword for laptop before. Pwd and pwd startup BIOS was empty.

Hey man, I don't know what the problem is here, but BIOS password can be removed by only authorized service. He wants the costs you a little, but it can be removed without any problem. On the OS, I'm afraid, you have to install it again.

BTW: some USB flash drives are password. If you want to have access to the recorded data you must enter the password first. Your key USB also has password protection?

    Hi Stephanie

Please check the settings of graphics card. I put t know what graphics card your device but I noticed that the units with Intel graphics card have this office turn option and you can change it manually in the properties.

  • Black screen on the Satellite A350-122 using Linux Ubuntu

    Hi all

I have a couple of months it has installed Ubuntu 9.04 (which completely replaces Windows XP) on my Toshiba A350-122 and this worked perfectly, until a recent day.

One day, after having locked the computer, when I came back the screen was very dark and nothing was visible, except with the help of a powerful light behind. Reboot and remove the battery change nothing.

    * This is the case at the beginning of the boot, and even the Toshiba logo is not visible.
    * However, the system starts normally, and I can see in the darkness of my login prompt.
    * I can also select the BIOS Setup, but the screen is too dark.
    * I have no display on an external device.
    * It was not held after an update of the system.

The first time it happened, I got it repaired.
The guy has managed to make the display work and then restored Windows XP.
They said: ' + Linux is responsible for + "... we cannot do anything more!

I reinstalled Ubuntu, and it happened again the next day... :-(

    * My questions are :*
    # If it is software issue, don't you think it should work in installation mode?
    # Is it possible to reset the display or video card?
    # How can I find out the type of video and the reference (don't forget: my screen is black)?
    # Someone has an idea to advance?

    Thanks for your help

    Martin

    Hello

I think it's certainly a Linux software problem because the laptop work correctly using Win XP or Vista preinstalled Toshiba I m right?

The fact is that Linux is not supported by Toshiba:(et vous ne trouverez pas tous les pilotes compatibles sur la page de Toshiba)
So you have to pick up on some pages of party 3 drivers needed

On the black screen issue, I think you should check if you're used to that a graphics driver right maybe an update will help.

  • Satellite L630 dead after BIOS update

    Hello

I have a problem with a Toshiba Satellite L630 laptop model PSK00E-017019EN (British model).

An analysis of software Toshiba recommends an update of the BIOS and that I had a few problems with the laptop, I decided to let it run... big mistake!

The laptop will now not enter bios is effectively dead.

I downloaded different versions of the crisis Phoenix Recovery Disk (that will build a bootable USB key with MINIDOS. SYS, PHLASH16. EXE and a generic BIOS. WPH) and have also downloaded the latest version of the BIOS on the toshiba site.

The downloaded BIOS Toshiba is an exe SL630_L635_WIN_B140.exe file that will extract the following files using WINRAR (I tried also pick up the files in %Temp%, after you run the exe with the same result).

The files that I get are:

    BB10140. FD (4170kb)

    Ding.wav (104 KB)

    InsydeFlash.exe (764 KB)

    iscflash.dll (1760 KB)

    iscflash.sys (14 KB)

    iscflashx64.sys (23 KB)

    and platform.ini (9kb)

I expect to see the real bios in the form xxxx.rom or xxxx. WPH so that I could add this to the bootable flash drive to reflash the bios.

So my real question, can someone direct me to where I can download the correct BIOS. ROM file for this laptop and also where I can get the right version of the software Phoenix crisis Recovery Disk.

Also could you confirm the correct key sequence to start on crisis Recovery flash drive... I've seen talk of the F and B FN FN (both used without battery and plugging in the adapter, then power button / stop)... the FN routine F seems to start the Flash Player, but obviously without the right file WPH will not solve the problem.

    Thank you

    Phil

To be honest, I don t think that BIOS ROM module needs to be replaced.
In my opinion the ROM module must be flashed again using a special disc of crisis of the BIOS.
I recommend you contact Toshiba service and pay a small fee for the flash ROM module.
It is much better solution to handle the motherboard.

  • Satellite A500 emit after bios update 1.50

    Hey guys and girls,

I have some problems after the update of the bios. Before the update my laptop has been the scene of much smoother and everything was fine and dandy until Tempro told me to update my bios. The problem is that after the update, the temperature seems to be considerably higher as usual when I play the game (I am a gamer) and also all the games I play seems to be much slower than before (lower, gal frame rate). Before the update I could play Dragon Age Origins with 1366 x 768 with 4 x anti-aliasing and the only one that I could get the same performance with the graphic parameter above is on 800 x 600. Now, it is certainly a big problem for someone who is a graphics junkie when it comes to games.

    * What do you think I should do? *

    A. downgrade my bios for when I bought everything first? (I don't know what version of bios is if anyone knows the stock bios?)
    B. perform HARD drive recovery?
    C. clean install of Windows 7 64-bit?

    My laptop computer spec:

    Model name: Satellite A500
    Part number: PSAR3E-00N005EN
    Serial number: X9206227K
OS version: Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium edition
    BIOS version: 1.50
    Physical memory: 4096MB RAM
Graphics card: NVIDIA Geforce GT 230 M

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

    Hi mate

I think you had a version of BIOS 1.30
In older versions of the BIOS update are not available on the Toshiba driver download page. Only ASP (partner) has access to these early BIOS versions

  • Satellite L650 - ODD does not read most of the CD or DVD after BIOS update

While DVD copy, asked me to do an upgrade of the bios for the included software on my laptop, so I thought that coming from toshibsa, it must be safe. I closed all my apps and let the update occur, restarted my pc and tried to continue to copy my dvd.

Now my dvd writer does not read most of my CD or DVD, original as well.
I managed to get hold of my previous Bios version after a battle before the update to see if I can go back to my old version, but the executable file runs a program that says the version is older then the one I use, so it will not load it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated I have two days to copy 100 DVDs for a customer and I can't do it now,

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L650 running windows 7 64 bit 8 GB memory with a SSD hard drive

    > I can return to my old version, but the executable file runs a program that says the version is older then the one I use, so it will not load it

I don t think that the BIOS is the problem here, the point is that CD and DVD support details are stored in the firmware of the CD/DVD drive and NOT in the BIOS of the laptop.
So in my opinion the update of the BIOS is not the reason for your problem.

I think you should check if cleaning the laser lens allows you to read discs.
Use a fluid wadding tip and alcohol to gently clean the laser lens.

  • Some problems with the LAN on Satellite L10 card after BIOS update

    Hello

I have a problem with my satellite L10. Map does not work after the installation of the new network of edge of Bios (2.80).
I tried it on Linux, BSD and WinXp. OS see my net card.
I can even install parameters and ping 127.0.0.1 and my ip.

But all the other pool spoke to me query time-out.

    Help me please.

    Hello

What to say I put t think that this could be linked to the BIOS. First of all, as you said that the LAN card is recognized correctly in the device if Manager she s works well!

However, you could try to access the BIOS and could set the BIOS default settings. Don t forget to save changes to BIOS ;)

In addition, it would be advisable to reinstall the NIC driver. The Toshiba driver page provides the Realtek LAN driver v5.618.1015.2004.

    Good luck

    Hey Buddy,

the only thing you could do is to bring your machine to a (certified partner) ASP for a checkup of hardware or BIOS fix because you have in your situation can't do anything.

Please, contact a service partner and send your machine to them, it s the only way to solve your problems.

    Hello
    I have:
    Satellite P300-20 b
    PSPCCE-05J011RU
I updated my BIOS with this update of the BIOS of your site (30/04/09, 3, 40 - WIN version)
    My problem is:
Loading and relocation of attempt of Windows, the following error message is fixed:

    "Technical information:
    STOP: 0 * 0000007 B(0*F78DE524,0*C0000034, 0*00000000, 0*00000000)'

So I can't respond to a portable computer HARD drive, the HARD drive is defined in the BIOS.
Also I checked the HARD drive on the virus, it's pure against viruses.

Could you help me to update the BIOS to a working condition.

    Hey Buddy,

This stop code means you use a bad SATA controller driver. The installation of XP, to integrate the SATA driver for install XP. There is a lot of discussion on this issue here in the forum.

For Intel chipset, you will need to download Intel Storage Manager of Toshiba's official site and follow the instructions here to reinstall Windows with the SATA drivers:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB85017Z0000R01.htm

Solution replacement follow the instructions posted by peterk_1. Setting IDE mode instead of AHCI in the BIOS will help too :)

  • Satellite A500 - overheating after BIOS update to 1.50

Hi, I hope someone can help me.

I updated the Bios to version 1.50 a few days ago and now the laptop overheats and stops after a few minutes, when I play a game (Day of Defeat Source btw, it is not the newest and shouldn't be a problem). This problem occurred for the first time after the update. There was no problem with the temperature with V1.20 before.

Is it possible to downgrade the bios V1.20? Where can I download the necessary file? I can just download the latest version on Toshibas website.
I have already asked the support of aid, but they did not send me a response up to now...

    Thanks for your replies! :)

    Hi Flex Barker,

Are you sure that this problem is really caused due to update BIOS? Normally, these overheating problems are caused by the old thermal grease or dust often due to the radiator. In my opinion, you should try to clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans.
    Check this box!

Downgrade of BIOS is normally not possible. Older versions of BIOS, you can get your local authorized service provider. :)
