BlackBerry 10 remote search lack of Contacts in the phone app

Remote research is available under the dedicated Contact requests, but not under the list of contacts in the phone application. Am I missing a setting or is this a missing feature?

Hey DHungate,

Thanks for the question.

The look-up under the phone app is reserved for local contacts.  Remote research is available in the contacts app in BlackBerry 10.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

See you soon.

  • Adding contacts on the phone

    Hello world

    in my application I want to save the contacts to the phone, this part works perfectly.

    My problem is when I add contacts to the phone, for example research in the forum I found this link: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Development/Problem-adding-contact-to-phone/m-p/341728/h...

    There, I found this code:

    try
    {
          ContactList contacts = null;
          try {
             contacts = (ContactList) PIM.getInstance().openPIMList(PIM.CONTACT_LIST, PIM.READ_WRITE);
          } catch (PIMException e) {
             // An error occurred
             return;
          }
          Contact contact = contacts.createContact();

         String[] name = new String[ contacts.stringArraySize( Contact.NAME ) ];
         name[Contact.NAME_GIVEN] = "Kate";
         name[Contact.NAME_FAMILY] = "Turner";
         contact.addStringArray(Contact.NAME, Contact.ATTR_NONE, name);

         AddressBookArguments entry = new AddressBookArguments(AddressBookArguments.ARG_COMPOSE to AddressBookArguments.ARG_NEW, contact);

         Invoke.invokeApplication(Invoke.APP_TYPE_ADDRESSBOOK, entry);

    }
    catch (Exception e)
    {
        System.out.println("erreur ms avt ps disp addContactToRep " + e.getMessage());
        e.printStackTrace();
    }

    with this code, I can add a contact... but one by one and the user to save this contact.

    How can I add all the contacts I need automatically?

    PS: Sorry for my English.

    I found the answer here:

    You can not. Take it back to Best Buy and ask for a refund.

  • Can I export the contacts from the phone or MotoBLUR?

    And before you answer - 'of course, copy them to the SIM card"- I want to EXPORT the contacts from the phone.

    I see that I can import contacts on the phone to CSV on the MotoBLUR page, but I can't export.

    I think that there is a demand of "exportcontacts" in the app store - there can be several - which allows you to export the Android contacts to a CSV file on your SD card.

  • Adding contact to the phone problem

    Hi all

    I'm trying to add a contact to the list of contacts from the phone, able to copy the following code:

    try
    {
          ContactList contacts = null;
          try {
             contacts = (ContactList) PIM.getInstance().openPIMList(PIM.CONTACT_LIST, PIM.READ_WRITE);

        System.out.println("erreur ms avt ps disp addContactToRep " + e.getMessage());
        e.printStackTrace();
    }

    but I get an exception while debugging, on the line "entry AddressBookArguments = new AddressBookArguments (AddressBookArguments.ARG_COMPOSE, contact);

    The error is: invalid argument

    I am using the code introduced by the api, but it seems that what I wrote is false...

    Could you please help me?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    You can try to climb the PIm.getInstance () to BlackBerryContactList instead of the contact list.

    You may need to change the AddressBookArguments.ARG_COMPOSE of AddressBookArguments. ARG_NEW.

    Hope that will help you.

  • BlackBerry smartphones lack all the contacts in the phone after the backup (via Desktop Manager)

    Hi - my tour 9630 died, and after getting a new phone from verizon has opened the Office Manager to run the restore. I have now NO telephone contacts at all in my address book, but all my single email yahoo contacts are now in my phone. How can I recover my phone contacts?

    WOW, FIXED! OK, so after playing with the phone for a while, I noticed another problem - I have had wayyyyy too much e-mail contcts; as in every yahoo only contact had synced my phone. so I went Googling issuing telephone directories, options and rset type who turned off Wi - Fi sync. then I restored (for the billionth time) and voila! no more contacts additional email and phone contacts are back.

    Weird question and I wonder if this is normal?

    is it possible to be notified before restoration you must disable your wireless sync (which I didn't even know was)?

    Thank you blackberry forums! you solved my problem again!

  • BlackBerry smartphones lost my contacts on the phone and cannot get back them.

    My phone has load the other night during a power failure and the morning my contacts and contacts BB disappeared.  These contacts are not lost, because it's my gmail contacts list - but I can't get back them on my phone.  I clicked all the buttons on the sync, but no luck.  I can't manually add a contact and not seeing him.  In the options of the contacts, it says I have 288 contacts associated with my gmail account, and when I manually add one, it goes up by another number.  But - I can't see them anywhere.

    Also, I deleted the email account and set up again ensuring the sync box, took out the battery and SIM card and put back and still nothing.  Advice anyone?

    You see if gmail is your default service for a list of contacts?

    http://BTSC.webapps.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB11471

    Check the sections under

    For BlackBerry Device Software 4.2 to 5.0 or BlackBerry Device Software 6.0

    If this is the case, then delete the account gmail from your device and set up in this way:

    Since the device, go to mobile.blackberry.com
    Scroll to connect and click Send.
    Click on join now to gmail.  See if the sync works now.

  • Smartphones from blackBerry Storm 2 (9550) synchronization of Contact with the Desktop Version 5.0.1.18 and Outlook 2003

    I just took my Blackberry last week and now in train to synchronize my contacts and have problems. I put the desktop software to replace the device to Outlook. That's why destroy all contacts on the device.

    All my contacts are sorted the name, first name. By examining the details of the synchronization (before it actually applies), I see that all the contacts on the camera original should be deleted (it's good!). But I find that some of the contacts are ignored and will not be added. In addition, some family names are now given names, and vice versa. When I have a John & Cathy'sname and a surname of Jones (for example), John is added as the first name, & is added in the middle and Jones is added under the family name. Nothing after the & is ignored.

    Is there a solution to this problem of synchronization? Are there better synchronisation software out there?

    Thank you

    Dwyne

    In talking with the Blackberry expert at the local Verizon store, I find the problem and the solution in the following way:

    Using the example "John and Cathy Jones '... The sync software looks at the name of Outlook in the format of "first-name vacuum vacuum-name last-name '. So when white was found during the synchronization, it assumes the & is the name of way and he picks up the last characters to the family name. I had to fix all my names "JohnCathy Jones" or "John & Cathy Jones". Two of these formats properly synchronized. However, the synchronization software does not care what is in the field of 'Society' Outlook, all characters are synchronized.

    Problem solved.

  • How to prevent my Mac of disconnection after that I connected remotely from iPhone and then left the iPhone app?

    I use RemoterVNC on my iPhone to log remotely on my Mac at home so the children can use the computer without my go physically to the computer. (I admit, I am a bit lazy like that). However, lately when I launch RemoterVNC (on my iPhone), do the business of the connection, and then exit the application, the remote Mac began a disconnection. He also started doing this when I connect from my first Mac via screen sharing. It is a relatively recent behavior. Someone has an idea what setting I have (inadvertently) enabled to prevent the computer from automatically disconnect when the 'access app' is no longer active on the remote device?

    Go to System Preferences > energy saving > computer sleep > drag it FOREVER to prevent disconnection of your mac.

    Think simple.
