BlackBerry 8110 Smartphone questions

I just got my first Blackberry today, the Pearl 8110. I have a few questions.

One, how do I know how much memory I have left on the phone.

Two, the silver button on the top, the start screen or other. Which is similar to the silent on most of the phones?

&

Three, I have the set menu in place where there are only options on the side left of the screen, but is there a way to change those that arise from now thers, Assistant installation, messages, voice chat, call log, blackberry Messenger & applications.

That's all for now, I would look in my manual, but the one I have is not at all in the details. =(

Thank you!

  1. You can go to Options | Status. You will find your free file number.
  2. You can activate the sleep mode to avoid the keys accidentally when you are not using your device. You can also save battery power in standby mode. In standby mode, the BlackBerry smartphone yet will inform you phone calls and e-mail messages, etc.
  3. You can change your theme to change your layout of the icons on the main screen. Go to Options | Theme to change your arrangement of icons

  • BlackBerry 8110 smartphones... main sound tones

Generally very happy with my new 8110, but I noticed that whenever I call someone, the individual tones of composition associated with each digital key are heard.  IOW, when I call, I hear a series of various tones as if I had the speaker turned on.  I was unable to find instructions on how to disable this feature.  I went to the AT & T store and asked a tech there and I also phoned AT & T directly for help.  I asked the guy in store if we could just dump the software on the phone and reload, but he said that he had this ability. The phone was purchased new by a store/agent authorized online as well as a new AT & T contract and is only about two weeks.  I'd rather not have to go through the hassle of return it for service just got a refurbed one.  Can anyone offer solutions?  Thanks for all ideals.

    MODEL: 8110, 4.3.0.93 worm, 2.6.0.53 platform.

For those interested... I found a partial solution to this problem.  However, the solution works when you use the keypad to manually dial a number or the phone book.  The problem occurs even if you use one of the speed dials.

  • Simulator of MDS and Blackberry 8110

I have a problem with the simulator of MDS and Blackberry 8110.

I just test my application because when I try to connect to the internet using mds - cs, the web browser (or my request) my 8110 Simulator gives me the error "unable to connect to the selected Mobile Data Service, please try again later." ...".

The same application with another Simulator (i.e. Blackberry 8900) works without a problem, and I can surf the web with the built-in web browser.

    I'm running on Windows Seven x 86

    Java 1.6.0 update 20

    BlackBerry JDE 5.0.0

    8110 Simulator is 4.5.0.81.

(I'm sorry for my English )

    Solved!

I used a generic Simulator. Installed by Vodafone one, and now I can surf the web from my blackberry Simulator.

Note: I noticed that with Blackberry 8900 generic Simulator I can surf the internet with the active wi - fi network.

Andrew, Hello and welcome to the Support Forums of community BlackBerry.com.

Do you have a data Plan BlackBerry enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?

You have to, to get the push RIM email functions you are looking for, as well as services of BlackBerry data such as the Web browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger and much more.

Then call your carrier and you learn about to have added to your account BlackBerry data Plan.

    Good luck.

  • Smartphones blackBerry RE Newbie question: address book/Sim Card

I have a BB 8820 Smartphone & my carrier is AT & T. I previously had an LG view & upgraded yesterday to my BB (which I LOVE BTW!) I copied my contacts from my SIM card and managed to transfer all my existing addresses to the new BB. However, for some reason-all addresses see contact phone numbers in the field 'Work' rather than 'Mobile' or 'Home' "They were not show them that way on reading my previous phone screen - so my question is that I have to go in every & each entry address to re - enter the number in the 'Mobile' field & then disable it ' work ' field in order so that it appears as"Sue Mobile"or even just"Sue"when she calls instead of display"Work of Sue"there are entires that are numbers of work , but the majority are not & it gets confusing... make sense? Laughing out loud

Not to be confused... Yes you have to it manually.

And you need to transfer all the numbers from your SIM card to your BlackBerry address book, too.

Then, you can synchronize the BlackBerry to Outlook or Outlook Express and do the editing there. Much easier.
