BlackBerry 8310 WIPED smartphones!

Howdy... First post here... looks like you people have things work very well for you... Here is my experience.

It has been a month since "backup" my 8310.  I had about 375 points of contact and phone info.

Today I arrived at home with just a few minutes on my hands and so I plugged the 8310 to get a quick backup.

I was immediately challenged a password!  The password that I use is well documented, but none of them worked.

After several attempts, I contacted Cingular... I was up to 9/10 attempts... failed their suggestions and the 8310 went immediately into a "WIPE"... action Yes, totally erased the 8310!

I was disappointed.

Specifications

-I had no idea of what "password" was needed... and I tried carefully to everything I had

-the 8310 has asked for me to enter the word "blackberry" to continue...

-Only had 10 chances then the8310 became a "WIPE".

-All data was not lost... as I started the restoration, some interesting parts were still functional such as the 'name' and the information on the home screen.

The support people said: you must have launched a "withdrawal of demand"... No... of course didn't... but that's what happened.

So, I'm upgrading Nov 2007 version 4.3.0.17... 450_b016_english.exe... wish me luck!

In addition, although the 'Desktop Manager' shows that it refreshes contacts... is not...

'Thanks' in advance for any recommendation...

I thought about it!

I used what I thought, it was all numerical values in my password when it by typing in the Desktop Manager.  Turn, you use only "letters" as noted elsewhere in this forum!

Now... all I need is a sign "kick here..."

I get the following error message: "Eception Exception: string index out of range: 0" and no way to clear the message.

Could someone help me to fix it? In fact, the only way to get the BB 8310 back to work is the battery.

    Thanks adavance

You continue to misinterpret the contractual agreement for the support that YOU are bound to. You should contact your mobile service provider who can escalate your case RIM, how the ability to submit the report could well exist.

All this debate aside courses... 9 times out of 10 if people just try some things in my first response, it solves their problems... normally a clean OS Reload did the trick as a "worst case"... that or update the operating system to something more current.

  • BlackBerry 8310 with Smartphones Outlook synchronization problems

I use a BB for my work and personal emails. I am able to see all the guest outlook calendar that I answered that someone sent me on the other, but not able to view anything I put on my calendar. Any ideas? We use no server BB at work.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

I interpret you don't have BES and synchronize E-mail OTA on behalf of your work (OWA?) as well as personal accounts. Given that, how do you synchronize appointment? Without BES, who does not synchronize OTA - you must use captive sync against the PIM client (e.g. Outlook) in order to synchronize the calendar, contacts, etc... See this KB:

  • BlackBerry Curve 8310 unlocked smartphones and software update

If I update the OS on my Blackberry 8310 will it still be unlocked? It is marked as ATT but I use it with T-Mobile and T-Mobile does support not the 8310, so I'll have to install the update from att.

    Welcome to the skully13 forums

No, the phone OS update should not affect your phone somehow. As a general rule, you can refresh using any carrier version as long as it's for the same phone model number. The only thing you need to do is delete the Vendor.xml file located in C:\Program Files\Common search in Motion\AppLoader before using Desktop Manager to do the update

Has anyone else had, and then solved this problem?

Think I read somewhere on these forums that AT & T release is the 23rd of this month. That day forward me

  • Blackberry 8310 blackBerry Smartphones

Hello. I recently bought a refurbished Blackberry 8310. Everything seems to work fine except the e-mail set in place.

The tutorial said that there should be an option 'I want to create or add a new e-mail address' this option does not appear.

The only option I have is to use an e-mail account to work with blackberry enterprise server.

All I want to do is link my blackberry to my existing e-mail account.

    Any ideas please?

Do you have a data Plan BlackBerry enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?

You have to, to get the configuration of email RIM and push email functions you are looking for, as well as services of BlackBerry data such as the Web browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger and much more.

Then call your carrier and you learn about to have added to your account BlackBerry data Plan.

    Good luck.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry 8310 problems

All of a sudden after almost 2 years I have problems with my 8310.  The battery shows a full charge (and it should be, as it has been on the charger).  I can be on a call.  Begin to hear a hum.  Phone goes dead.  I do a hard reboot (removing the battery and replacing).  The phone turns on IFFFF I plug.  It's all good as long as it is plugged.  I took it to my ATT Office.  They show (like me) the battery is, or has a large load on it.  What is the problem.  This started only after being on the blackberry 4.50 version.  I am also on this phone for not only personal, but commercial.  I use it for ATT Navigation, e-mails on the blackberry enterprise server server and also calls personal and personal emails.  I'm on the road, 60% of the time that's why I bought the Blackberry in the first place.  These problems have taken place for over 2 weeks now and I can't find an answer.  Please help, or I'll have to find something else that product blackberry to meet these needs.

I exchanged batteries with my husband for a week and had no more problems with my blackberry 8310.  His phone stops today during our conversation.  In the meantime, I ordered both of us, the new batteries.  Even if they are also completely responsible, there was still a problem with it.  Thanks for the support everyone.  Those of you who have had the same problems, try a new battery.  Who works for the moment, and as I said, it's been a week.

  • BlackBerry 8310 Smartphone image flight question

Hi, I'm a newbie to this forum and Blackberry phones. I got a Blackberry 8310, which has a software version 4.5.0.182, I will use only for purposes of media, as she had AT & T and I have verizon on my phone, so I could not use it anyway (so much), and I'm trying transfersome photos of his children from the phone to my pc self can email they to him. Now here are the pictures that she took with the phone, and I put a sd card, but couldn't understand how to transfer these pictures. from the phone to the card! In addition, there are some pictures of my friends on the map, and it seems that somewhere they had transferred to the phone, I know because when I removed the card and put it in my laptop, they were gone! but they are on the phone. I installed the latest version of Blackberry Desktop that has the makings of media, as well as the USB Blackberry driver. Can I use this software to get these pictures from the Blackberry to my laptop?

    Thank you

    -DDAYMEN

As soon as you open the BB Desktop Manager, you will see the Media Manager. If you have not used before, it will have you set up Roxio to manage all media for your BB.

I don't him have not used it myself, but I've played with him and it seemed pretty easy to use.

When in doubt, read the 'Help' section in the Media Manager, it should tell you how to do it.
