  • New Verizon blackBerry curve 8330 browser missing Smartphones

    Hello

This may seem s stupid question, so my apologies.  I just activated my new (well old, but new to me) Verizon Curve 8330 and it doesn't have a browser app.  I tried to go to the Opera to send me a download link, but even with that I can't get my phone to go to it.  I have run a security wipe before I activated it.  I can't find a browser to download on my computer to install via Desktop Manager either.  What Miss me?

    Thank you

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Are you sure that your data plan is in place? How have you activated it?

Try this: in the home screen, go to the connection icon, click it.

and go to the status of the service, click, touch menu, select diagnostic test, select

run. During the test on the phone your data access will be reviewed and

a registration request will be sent. Once the test is complete, you can read the categories

and see if a pin test worked, and registration request has been sent successfully.

If the test fails I would call the carrier and have them check you are considering.

If the test is successful they what follows:

Go to options / advanced options, host Routing Tables, click to enter. DO NOT CLICK on any list.
Press the menu key and select sign up now.
You will receive a verification email. Then go to email settings and send service directories.
You will receive a confirmation of installation for each e-mail account.

Once this done, do a battery pull to reset the unit.

    Let us know now!

  • BlackBerry Curve 8330 Pandora disorder smartphones

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 on Metro PCS, and I can't seem to connect to pandora. I changed the permissions of the application to ALLOW, I have checked the firewall, I did everything, but it still does not work. I get the error message: "Could not connect to Pandora. Please check that you have sufficient network coverage and try again. "

problem is that I had full bars. I can't understand what is the problem...

Please help me, I want to solve this problem as soon as possible.

    Ok thank you.

For Pandora, it's been a while since I used it (I switched to Slacker... much better for my needs!). I know that they have been updated and others... that you have made sure to be on the latest version (via AppWorld updates)?

YouTube - m.youtube.com? For media formats supported, see this KB:

I also heard of a few people to clear up YouTube issues using the application of the add-on to YouTube which is available via AppWorld. I don't know if it is available for your camera model, but it might be worth it.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8330 WITHOUT GPS smartphones

I tried 4 different applications in an attempt to get the GPS to work, but nothing works. It cannot acquire a satellite solution - I tried inside and outside, in the middle of a field, sunny days etc.

That is what it is? I promised GPS with this phone and was the reason why I bought it. If it doesn't, I'll return it and get an iPhone instead.

Found someone to MTS who knows what they're talking about, and apparently he is disabled, because Blackberry requires additional hardware to operate the GPS (which they don't have). Now, AFAK, which should mean the 8330 doesn't have a real GPS, which should require no network hardware! Guess I'm moving to the iPhone.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8330 - OTA update, smartphones now says roll back java and turns on

So, I am sure that my phone is fried - through the wireless software update my phone told me to download Blackberry yesterday.

Small update icon appears on the screen telling me that there is an upgrade of the QSR software so I say to download on-line.  About half an hour later, my phone Flash and comes with a quick screen that says "roll back java" with a status bar that remains at 99% and then power cycles and did the same thing.  I had to take the battery out - is the power cycling every minute at least.  It won't do anything else, and it does not recognize my blackberry desktop software.  I left the battery during the night so the cycling power does not drain the battery and when I put the battery back inside, just going to go back to his small msg Java and bike power.

Any ideas?  I'll take it to Telus later today.  I guess that he should be sent to the outside and re-flashed and I will lose everything on it.

A big thank you to Blackberry for a such upgrade impressive.  Twits.

You could have lost everything on it, but we'll see what we can do first.

    1. NEVER make the upgrages wireless without first making your own manual backup using the Desktop Manager. RIM needs to get this right, and I hope that they are listening.

2 try this on your device:

If your BlackBerry is still under tension turned off with a black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life may be the flashing red indicator light in the upper corner. Nothing seems to wake and Desktop Manager does not recognize that a device is connected.

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life. Congratulations! Just unplug and let the process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.
    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate type of carrier and network, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Google Maps no longer works for my Verizon Blackberry Curve 8330. What is the problem with Google?

For the last 11 months, Google Maps and Gmail have worked perfectly with my Blackberry Curve 8330 from Verizon. Tonight, all that has stopped working. I tried to load Google maps and failed. Kept getting the error "network unavailable, blah blah blah." I tried to restart the phone, remove and reinsert the battery, until I finally uninstalled Google Maps. Now when I point my browser (OperaMini) on m.google.com download and reinstall Google Maps, it says "Sorry the Google Maps application does not work on your 8330." It makes NO sense at all. Why Google would suddenly take for my phone? Is there a work around? Before you uninstall, I tried all sorts of tricks with permissions to edition without success.

In addition, Gmail refuses to check email, sometimes say that a data connection. Also, which makes NO sense as I have great reception phone.

My internet (OperaMini) and normal calls and texting capabilities are not affected.

In conclusion: ANY possible to get these Google Apps for reinstall and work on my phone? Or has Google me screwed over? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you
    Hyun

As of about 3-16:00 hour, there was a failure generalized data RIM across the Americas.

That includes BIS for Google Maps and apps and email data. Dead in the water on the BlackBerry.

It will come back, be patient.

  • Smartphones blackBerry Desktop Manager / Curve 8330

I can't connect the Curve 8330 to the Desktop Manager.  I have replaced the software three times, replaced the device itself, and replaced the USB cable.  In addition, holding an end of this forum, I removed and replaced the battery on the device when it is connected to the computer via a USB cable.  The symptoms are the same:

The PIN code of the device appears for a second or two, then disappears from the port drop.  Try to locate the device on the USB from the drop-down list parameter only results in an error message "device not found".  My operating system is Windows XP. The inhabitants of tech at Verizon were useless. Help!

A Dell tech Representative helped me solve the problem.  It was a conflict with another program in the startup routine of Windows (XP, all the stuff that takes over in the right-hand side of the taskbar at startup).  It turned out that the backup software from my hard drive - called, Bounceback professional - of external backup was interfering with the Desktop Manager software.   We test-fixed 1 start-up in safe mode.  Most of the start-up programs do not load in safe mode. This shows that the Fund Manager and the blackberry could talk to each other.  Then we went to the start menu, click Run and type in msconfig and press ENTER.  Which displays a screen of dialogue.  Click the Startup tab.  One by one, I've tested startup programs by disabling their (remove the check mark next to the list) until I found the conflict.  Then cousres I had to restart in normal mode.  When a dialogue box came to warn me that I had changes in settings, I selected the option to not warn me again at the next startup.  It works fine now.  Good luck.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8330 Smartphones memory?

General question... What is the capacity of the hard disk of the Curve 8330?  I can't find the specification anywhere, I was wondering how much data it can hold.  Appreciate any info you can share!

    Hello

There is no hard drive on modern smartphones. It's a Flash drive.
On the Curve 8330, the internal memory is written on spec for the Curve series page: 96 MB
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/devices/blackberrycurve8300/curve_specifications.jsp?Navid=H0, C221, S2

memory internal, also known under the name of the memory of the device. It has these uses:

    • keep the BONES (can handle up to 40MB)
    • Ordinary things to work RAM
    • wear of all applications and their data
    • store multimedia files (bad idea)

In addition, you have the 'memory card': a slot for a microSD card / microSDHC card. You can put a card as big as you want, but according to the version of your operating system, your device will see only a part of it. There is an article on the database of knowledge of the public about the limits. For a 4.2.2 the limit is 4 GB. For a 4.5, it is much much more.

  • Where blackBerry Smartphones on my Berry B Curve 8330 to activate THE Java program?

My CURVE 8330 B Berry model a JAVA programming but I had recently another program to tell me that Java is NOT enabled, where and how can I go into the phone to put the program in Java?                                                         Please help; Sincerely, Charles PS had my curve only about a week or so now todays date Sunday Jan.25, 2009!

There is no 'turning java' on the BlackBerry.

    • the BlackBerry smartphone uses a Java-based operating system.
    • the BlackBerry smartphone can use applications developed in Java (or J2ME like any mobile phone or special files for devices BlackBerry ALX)
    • the phone smart BlackBerry with a browser that can do JavaScript and not Java applets.

Question is: why do you think that you need Java?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Curve (8330 Verizon) has spinning hourglass

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 from Verizon, a month ago. It is configured with a Blackberry Enterprise Server to my work. A few weeks ago, I woke up one morning to a spinning hourglass. Applications seem to work and I could make calls. However, everything was really slow. I tried connect to Verizon for a software update. That did not help. Then, I tried a few resets hard (removal of the battery). That did not work also. The boot has taken longer than usual and I found myself with spinning hourglass each time. I called Verizon and they said that I had to wipe the device and try again.

I wiped it and then set up all my accounts e-mail again. Then I got the email people send me a different password to set up the connection with MS Exchange. Everything seemed fine for a few weeks. Then, this morning, I found the same thing. I tried a few resets hard. One thing I also noticed this time is that if I try voice component, the application says "during initialization... "and then to block the phone. And all that is using the CPU is also drain the battery. My battery is at 45 percent four hours after I took it off the charger.

When I spoke to Verizon this time they told me they would send me a new phone. I will try this, but to be honest, that I'm not sure that's the problem. I suspect the buggy software. It's really frustrating. Surely, there must be a way to solve exactly which process is this?

Oh, I almost forgot to mention third-party applications, that I installed. I don't like cluttering up the Blackberry with many extras as I am not very confident when it comes to the quality of the software. Here's what I've got there:

    * - TellMe

    * - Client AIM (downloaded on RIM)

    * - Update Facebook client

    * - Opera browser

There are a lot of memory (more than 55%) when I check the status display.

I have a memory card of 4 GB installed with some MP3 and photos. The card has 3 GB free.

    Any suggestions?

I had this problem 3 times.  The 3rd time the tech at verizon from disabling applications.  When we turned the hourglass on facebook went.  Touch wood, but my phone has not started to act up again again.  It's been 3 days now and everything is good so far.  If he does so since tomorrow, it will be the longest, it worked with the hourglass turning upward.  The tech said that he had seen a few times so far and on each of them noticed we all used facebook, so he tried and so far it works.

Hi, I tried to update my BlackBerry Curve 8330 m, and it says here that my BlackBerry is compatible with version 5.0, but I tried to update wireless and it says there is no update available. I also tried to update the page and he told me the same thing.

Installed applications: UberTwitter 0.98, Windows Live Msger 2.5, Pandora 1.1.2 Facebook 1.8, Bible 2.2.1

    Hi Peter-Frango,

The list to search for available software for your Blackberry smartphone is http://bbry.lv/cp57Eb

The other list shows that your device will support the version of the appliance software, the list above shows if it is available from your wireless provider.

    Hi kyachinumog

No, I'm sorry but you are wrong! RIM has never neglected the India or any country in Asia, infact they do much more for us than America or Europe. Regarding the support for BlackBerry Maps questions have been raised regularly. As she opened a Forums I don't want to explain all the facts, but some of our Government policies restricting these Services in India and a few country neighbors. I hope you understand.

  • Smartphones from blackBerry Curve 8520 - Blackberry MAPS - how/where can I configure the GPS signal?

I took a brief look at the questions on the CARDS, but none of these go to the ART GPS end does not. (I'm sure it's somewhere in the support forums, but I found nto).

I have the icon of the WAP on my Blackberry Curve 8520. But when I click it I don't see is a grid nd no card. I checked Options Options/Advanced/cards and it is said by default Blackberry MAPS Service - EU. I also checked the place settings and under GPS Data Source it comes up with a list of all my contacts id bluetooth I suspect this is where it goes wrong, but I can't be sure.

How can I put the correct GPS data source. How/where can I set this up please. ???

    Thank you

    JJ

Any other ideas as to why the Blackberry connects sometimes to devices and sometimes does not. I saw him sign for a brief moment especially for my GPS dongle. Then fell to new. The signal on the dongle seems it continues to blink.

When I take my BB in my car it instantly takes the car blue tooth

Don't understand why he doesn't connect properly on my GPS unit now.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB Curve 8330, keep or find another phone?

When I bought my first BB Curve 8330, it was a few days after when I was told that I had to send it back and get a new one because of defects.  I came to know and love my 8330 until the trackball stopped working a few days back.  Now, it is the second BB Curve 8330 after only 1 1/2 months.  After Service of Sprint working on the trackball, they said I was approved for a new replacement phone, or keep my current phone and see what happens with the trackball?  Of course, I decided to trade once more my current phone for a new because obviously something is wrong with my current phone or they wouldn't swap a new.

Question; What is the standard?  This is common with the BlackBerry Curve 8330 or total BlackBerry?  Should I start thinking about making another smart phone instead of an another BlackBerry Curve 8330?  My phone works very well with my work email and the telephone directory.  Any suggestions or advice from the pros out there?  I was told to come back tomorrow August 07 after 15:00 to pick up a new because they are "back ordered and in stock?"  Is there a known flaw on the BB Curve 8330, I don't know.  I'd appreciate your comments and advice...

    Pchmike,

IMHO, I think that you should definitely keep your phone. While your experience with a bad phone is not the standard, any new device requires patience until the settings are completed, and learn you all the functions of the phone. Your experience with a stuck ring is an example of normal 'glitches that may occur when you start to exercise any kind of device.

Stick to these forums and it will help reduce your frustrations. I learned so much and so fast, it is the best basis of knowledge I've seen. The people on this site will go further to help, especially because we've been there.

I suggest you go through BlackBerry 101 and 101 Crackberry to help your learn faster. Here are the links:
