BlackBerry NFC

Hello

I have a question, what types of NFC which are supported by Blackberry? (for example, Mifare Classic?)

Let us discuss NFC on Blackberry for even more information.

Thanks for help

Kind regards.

We have published lots of great content on NFC for developers BlackBerry here:

NFC - Article and Code Index - BlackBerry support Community Forums

Regarding your question however; We support the 3 modes of operation:

1 reader/write tag learn to read and write

2 peer-to-Peer (P2P)

3 card emulation

We also support something cool, called virtual emulation target.

I think you're asking specifically about good tags.

We support the tags that meet standards NFC Forum, then you should also check that a tag be designated a standard tag MFC Forum Type 1, 2, 3 or 4 before you buy.

Your specific example, the Mifare Classic (also known as the Mifare 1 K) is not compliant to standards NFC Forum and if we do not support.

Hope that answers your question

  • [Issue] How data is transferred when you use BlackBerry (NFC) Tag? WiFi Direct? Bluetooth 2.1? Bluetooth 3.0?

    Hello

I saw a bunch of videos of demonstration of tag BlackBerry of all the cool things you can do with the NFC, but it wondered, what happens if all my other antenas wireless, WiFi and Bluetooth, are out of?

NFC can be used to transfer data, but it is not good for large quantities. I looked a little further and I found this cool video showing the difference to use Bluetooth 2.1, Bluetooth 3.0 high speed and Wifi Direct to transfer large files, such as videos. BB10 already does support Wifi Direct? Bluetooth 3.0 high speed?

I hope that BB10 supports ALL the performance and maximum compatibility.

I don't know where to post this question so here's. Please move was a better place. I think that the community needs a session of general development for wider issues.

    See you soon!

    Hello

Tag BlackBerry, and the APIs available for developers will automatically perform the best way to transfer the data. NFC supports something called "connect transfer" and are the largest payloads or certain types of data (photos, for example) rather than by peer-to-peer NFC, NFC mode data transfer is just used to negotiate alternative transport. In the case of the BlackBerry smart phones, this alternative will be bluetooth.

For users of touch devices, there is a brief 'conversation' between the devices on the NFC and this translates into a bluetooth connection set up and data transfer initiated through the bluetooth connection faster. This is all without the usual matching process. After reaching the stage of bluetooth devices need closer will be of course.

The same principle applies to both 7 BlackBerry and BlackBerry 10. In fact talk us a bit about this in our latest article on BlackBerry 10 NFC API:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/native-development/BlackBerry-10-sharing-using-NfcShareManage...

    I hope this helps.

  • BlackBerry NFC 10 file transfers?

I understand that NFC isn't quite complete yet. However, the other day, I tried to transfer the content (photos & videos) between my new Z10 and Samsung Galaxy S4 a friend. We started with transfer me to her Samsung, and all what we transferred worked like a charm! Us excited. Then when we tried the reverse, with him moving stuff for me, he would not suffer. The Z10 just complained about unrecognized formats, or something like that (the message flashed by fairly quickly).

Can someone explain how it is possible that the transfer in one direction is impeccable, but not in the other direction?

Basically, NFC has a few standards actually.

In short, BlackBerry uses a more backward or rather more universal standard while Samsung and Nokia are using another standard that BlackBerry does not support.

Licenses (for formats) are one thing that lingers there.

  • NFC Interaction between BB10 and Windows Phone 8

    Hello

NFC Peer communication Peer is not the case between BB10 and Nokia Lumia 820 (phone 8 window).

communications made using the Protocol of the SNEP.

My request in BB10 able to receive Windows Phone data, but the application in windows phone 8 does not receive the data of BB10 when app in BB10 writing data on it.

WIndows Phone 8 application works very well (to receive and write data) when I hit with BB 7.1 (curved) Mobile, does not work with BB10.

app in BB10 works well with all mobile BB, the problem only comes with Windows phone 8. But I could not face this kind of problem with BB7.1.

Problem is that when I type BB10 with Windows phone 8.

If a question is existed in app BB10, it should not work with mobile BB

If a question is existed in Windows Phone 8 App, it won't work with BB 7.1 Mobile also.

I don't come to the solution where the problem is present.

Please let me know where is the problem?

    Hello

I got a more or less immediate response from BlackBerry NFC dev team. There are a number of problems known, all rooted in problems with the device of Lumia. I am told that the NFC open P2P connection Bluetooth transfer on the Lumia is inconsistent with the NFC Forum specification. In addition, there are a problem whereby the Lumia P2P server hangs when used with BlackBerry 10. Once again, our engineers are categorically that the problem is with the Lumia. BlackBerry 10 P2P works very well with devices Android and other Nokia devices.

  • UID for the emulation of the NFC Mifare Tag

    Hello

I am looking for documentation to use BlackBerry NFC in my company access control...

If anyone can help me, I appreciate...

I can emulate a tag 14444TypeA tag, but whenever I want to read all UID, I can get is the RID...

With this, it is impossible to use the BB in access control once the number is never the same...

When I read that the emulated card into a reader, the listener to recall is launched, but access control readers never happens...

    Thank you

    Hello

You will not be able to use the SIM card without the agreement of the carrier which is owner of the SIM card. Range of active NFC devices BlackBerry has an element of internal security, which is integrated. You need permission from RIM to use however.

In addition, I suspect that develop a HID iClass emulation is much more complex that simply mimic ID card you must understand the Protocol system and help used between the 'map' and the reader. It is openly published or private HID, you will need to put in place. This URL is for developers and can be a start:

  • BlackBerry Passport SIM card, NFC enabled in a passport

I have a new passport Blackberry running on Bell Mobility and the settings information has been transferred from my Z10, which stood on Telus Mobility, using the Blackberry Link software. With my Z10 I used the software UGO portfolio purchases Tap Visa without any problem for about 1 year. I can't get this app to work on the Passport that the error message is CAN not access SIM. I work with UGO to solve and they work with Bell. Bell sent the update of the SIM card. I went back to Bell and got a new SIM NFC and no change in the number of app acceptance.

My wife does the same Z10 Passport switch and UGO portfolio works very well. No problem with SIM card acceptance. The difference is that she has not used UGO on their Z10.

Any suggestions? The passport may lock access to NFC somehow? I don't have problems with signal as calls, texts, BBM work well, and I use the cellular signal almost all the time, rarely on Wifi. A prior carrier (Telus) could use a field in the Z10 to lock the other carriers, which then was performed by the link between the Z10 and the Passport?

Bell Mobility and the App provider have solved this problem.

  • BlackBerry Z10 what NFC?

Can someone tell me what NFC (Near Field Communication) is actually for, and if I need it turned on or not on my Z10?

If you use it, leave it off.

    https://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Near_field_communication

In short, on your BlackBerry, with NFC enabled and when another NFC device, you can quickly tap and change photos, files, contacts, etc. and the payment in some institutions where in use.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones NFC

The 9720 there Near Field Communication (NFC), and if so, how do I turn it on?

I use the NFC on my camera display and control. So no NFC is a gene.

    On the 9720, no NFC.

You should try the BlackBerry Z30 or Z10, with NFC.

  • BlackBerry Q10 NFC file share WiFi problem between camera <>- Q10

    Hello people,

I am an Olympus camera with photoshare WiFi NFC functionality. I can't make it work with the Q10.

Side of the camera: WiFi enabled - the display shows an NFC Tag and also provides instructions for the manual connection.

When I scan the tag with smarttag I get this string "OIS1,CP1%1H1UOP+++Y//,%*Z-+-X$" and Q10 wants to search in google (LoL)

So, I set the WiFi connection manually by following the instructions in the camera. Q10 make the connection, but warns an Internet not available with it. The use of the camera says the files are in http://oishare/

No matter how I try to enter this link http://oishare/, Q10 guard send to Google where it get lost in the translation.

    Someone figure that one out?

    Thank you people

    Wire update

Network / Mobile network should be disabled (at least data) in order to access the http://oishare/

Then I managed to see the directory structure, but I couldn't find any pictures on the camera.

Later, I found some instructions in other forums to Sideload the client Snap Google play.

With a Google account game in hand via the snap, I downloaded and install the Olympus Photoshare application.

The app installed correctly and has its own NFC function compatible with the camera scan NFC tag.

I was then able to export images to the Q10 and even remote control the camera.

    Pretty cool.

  • NFC 10 blackBerry applications

Hi all. I recently bought a few NFC tags and I love what I can do with them. Unfortunately, the software that comes with my Zed30 is a bit limited in what I want it to do. So I bought another one, which has all the options I want, but a klunky way to enable certain features.

Following route was looking on the Android app store. I found two. Unfortunately, Android applications cannot see the NFC sensor, so are useless to me.

My question is, short to write something myself (which could take a while), where I can put a feature request request the BB NFC application and where can I ask for a NFC sensor on the Android runtime visibility?

There is an area of general topic somewhere... Yes, he would not have noticed, but this is the best suggestion I have ever been.

For the improvement of the application you are using, you could ask from this developer.

  • Break blackBerry's Z10, undecided Z30 or LEAP

I use my third BB, a Z10. I'm ready for the continuous upgrade with AT & T.
Don't know if I should buy Z30 or LEAP. My data entry cards BB, BB sport Fitness and some other applications can be transferred to a new BB. I know, contacts and calendar are transferable. Note BB Maps I have 50-100 entries, etc. Would love to have transferred him to a new BB device. Manual rewrite these entries on a Z30 or LEAP could take weeks. Thanks for any response.

UPDATE: I bought BB LEAP used for 8 days now. I transferred all my Z10 with link BB data. All data transferred smoothly including data applications of BB maps and other data entered myself when using some applications. Only disappointment here was that some entries in the BB calendar has not been transferred. EU to re - enter manually takes about an hour. BB OS 10.3.1 has some visual differences of 10.2 on Z10. Its appearance is not very professional appearing every bit as a toy like Android devices. Colors have changed, appearance of data entry has changed also. Even if the NFC is not included on the JUMP I've ever used on the Z10. For me, an easy transfer cable or Bluetooth is fine for me. The screen is clear and sharp. No negative comments. I find the acoustic speaker for a downgrade from Z10 and torch if you listen to music directly from the phone. Metallic sound. At least with Bluetooth, reading in the car, sound is great without going through the terrible rear speaker. With this phone unlocked BB, you can use on most GSM carriers, simply no Verizon and a few other carriers. A blackberry to store ONLY pity and Amazon sells the phone. Thanks Amazon. I am a satisfied user on my fourth Blackberry.
