  • Satellite C650 14U: recovery media creates the recovery partition?

Hello, I used the recovery media creator to create a USB flash drive recovery media.

If I can use that to restore Windows 7 installation on a new hard drive (as the SSD) will be the drive itself have the recovery media on that partition?

So if I then lose the USB could restore again by pressing zero when turn?

Or it does not retrieve the Windows partition and nothing more?

    Thank you

First of all, the new hard drive itself has no partition recovery on it. The recovery partition is a copy of the system partition and locates at another location, therefore, restored from a recovery media unit contains just the partition system without recovery partition.

Second, if you have a recovery on a local disk partition, you can always restore by pressing zero when power on/off. If this isn't the case, I am sorry to say that you don't you have no source of food.

In third place, somehow, we can say that it only retrieves the system partition.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome!

I'm afraid that you can't create partitions of recovery if they are deleted. End users cannot do.

If the computer is originally shipped with Windows preinstalled by HP (OEM of Windows for example), you can buy HP recovery media. They are generally cheap. You can use it to restore your computer to factory default condition. Here's how:

    > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07143

    > > http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html

And once you receive the recovery [DVD or USB pen drive] media, here's how to use it to restore default factory/Windows to a condition:

    > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03489643

    > > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PC3sUc3lr3E

If the computer is originally not is not come with Windows pre-installed, but you install on your own after that, then you need to use the Windows installation media to reinstall Windows. You can get Windows installation ISOs from the Microsoft web site and then burn it to a DVD > > https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8

  • Create the recovery Partition D on DVD - HP Pavilion 6620f

I just replaced the original, slowly due to lack of 1 TB of internal hard drive that came with this PC with a Western Digital, which is 300 GB. When you restore the backup of the original image, there was not enough space to restore the recovery Partition D. PC operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium SP1.

Someone told me to put the score on a DVD "bootable" in case of future need. 2 questions:

    1. What is the solution?
    2. If so, can someone tell me how to do? Or direct me to a place to learn?

I'm NOT a technical person found thing in replacement of entire disk completely intimidating despite all the learning that I had! That's why I don't know what to do now - or if it's feasible even for a "non-techie".

Any suggestions most appreciated! Thank you.

    lindairene,

Your correct. The DVD will be re - create the entire original scores in C and D on a hard drive.

    (1) the hard disk (in GB) must be the same size or larger

  • Satellite P750 (PSAY1A) - How update the recovery partition?

Now that I found out that using the recovery on a new HARD drive would create the recovery Partition... comes the question... How do I update the recovery partition.

My Toshiba Satellite P750 (PSAY1A-01Y022) the factory settings has 132 update of Windows that should be applied during the first pass. I had to run Windows update 4 times before she shows "up-to-date". Not to mention drivers Toshiba as well.

I also want to include some applications (Microsoft Office and other software and utilities)...
Overall, I spent 2 days just to bring it t the State I want in.
But I can't just access the recovery Partition (of the less any of this!)

If you look at disk management, the recovery Partition is not a Volume name and that the file system is empty. If I right click on the recovery partition... all I see is "Help" Option

I tried to assign a drive by using Diskpart letter... but it doesn't show much.
My guess is that it is GBT/EUFI.

Does anyone have experience updating the recovery Partition?

    > Now that I found out that using the recovery on a new HARD drive would create the recovery Partition... comes the question... How do I update the recovery partition.

What do you mean by update recovery partition?
The recovery partition should NOT be touched!

In which case you'd change the partition, the HARD drive recovery process could not be started!

Probably, you have not understood the meaning of such a HARD drive recovery procedure.
It's the option provided by Toshiba and the recovery of HARD drive allows you to establish the notebook to factory settings; on the same State as at the first day of the purchase.

  • Restore using the recovery disks on Inspiron 15 3521 supplied with Windows 8 Pro. Question on the recovery partition.

I created by the user recovery disks.  I created them the day I got the computer and he made three of them.  My brother has deleted my recovery partition just now.  My question is, if I resumed my Inspiron 15 3521 using three recovery disks that I created, be it recreate the recovery partition in the process?   I just need an answer to this question, not responses indicating that, if I have the disks, I don't need the recovery partition, why would I want the recovery partition if I have the drive, etc.  I would like to just a simple answer to the question.  If I use the recovery discs, it will recreate the partition recovery with all the info, she was in it when I got to the computer?  Once the recovery is completed from disks, will be that recovery partition be there as the day I got the computer, so if I wanted to (I don't want to, but I'm just a question) I could still create the recovery of her discs?  Basically, the computer will be exactly as it was the day I got it home, recover partition and everything?  Or, it will restore the computer to the new plant, but not to re-create the recovery partition with everything she had in it the day I got it?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, it will be if you select the correct option.

  • How to create a bootable DVD/USB since the recovery Partition?

    Hi guys,.

So, I have a Toshiba Satellite L505-141 (of Greece) and my broken hard drive. Unfortunately, I lost my recovery discs. I changed my hard drive, I installed the operating system, but I would like to have my computers it was (with all crapwares... Wink)

I found a guy with the same laptop and it can send the recovery disc. In fact, he has already sent the disc 2 (he sent me two copies of his CD online) that he created when he bought the laptop (by recovery media creator). However, these discs are not bootable and (I read) that you use just them and when you restart the system through the Recovery Wizard. Unfortunately, it has not worked for me (at least with the CD of my friend sent me).

Do you know some way that I can do? I want to get my friend a recovery disk? Can he create an ISO of the recovery partition?

    Any suggestion is welcome!

  • Satellite P750 PSAY1A: how to create the recovery Toshiba on the new HARD drive partition

    Hello

I have an old Toshiba Satellite P750 (PSAY1A-01Y022). I just upgraded my memory from 4 GB to 8 GB and am preparing to take my 500 GB HARD drive 1 TB. I had to order the disk online and wait to happen.

I always try to understand how to create the arrival of my new HARD drive Toshiba Recovery Partition. I do the same thing for an old book, I handled based on something similar to it's original factory State.

I have reflected on the recovery partition, but does not know how it was created. It is not NTFS. Does anyone have experience in the creation of a Toshiba Recovery on a new HARD drive Partition?

And the help is very appreciated.

    Thanks and regards,
    Dinesh

Recovery partition can be created when you use the original Toshiba Recovery disk and install recovery image. Before the partitions to boot OS install will be automatically created, recovery image copied on a recovery and then partition as last step recovery image installation starts.

A sort of migration of files from one to the other HARD disk is not solution.

Only for laptop with factory will work and the usable recovery partition.

  • HP Pavilion Notebook g7: Re-create the recovery on D drive partition

I have a HP Pavilion g7, which originally had Windows 7.  I recently upgraded to Windows 10. However, the recovery partition (D has still the Windows 7)  Question: Can I just remove the Windows 7 file and re-create the partition recovery with Windows 10 or is it more involved.

    morris81

    Basically, the answer is no.

    Why?

Because installed HP recovery Partition contains a custom Windows OEM compressed HP image and the firmware on the same PC is written to be able to start in this partition (using F11) to this recovery.

Your own partition does NOT contain this file because there is no way to get at HP.

Even in this case, the F11 process wouldn't work, even if you haven't created your own partition.

However... If you want the means to do a full system recovery, then consider using a third-party product known as Macrium Reflect the image of the installation.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

My experience is that SIR, when you use the option of Compression high, typically allows to compress the image file recorded at about 50% of the space USED in the OS partition.  This means that if you have a 40GB and 80GB OS partition is used, MR must only about 20 GB to store the image file.

I use all the time and it usually takes less than 10 minutes to make the backup of the image and at the same time or less do a restore.

In addition, MR has the ability to add a recovery Boot Menu entry.  This then allows you to boot into Windows re, and then you can use it to do a restore - when you cannot start Windows!

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

    Good luck

  • Portege Z830: Create the recovery and removal on SSD USB recovery partition?

    Hello

I already found a lot of discussions around the question how to increase free space on the SSD drive.

Is it possible to remove the recovery partition after you create a recovery key USB with the tool 'Create a Toshiba Recovery media'?
    No risk?

If it would be possible, how it is possible to assign the space gained on the C: partition?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

    > Is an option to remove the recovery partition after you create a recovery key USB with the tool 'create a Toshiba Recovery media "?
    > No risk?

Well, the recovery partition would create again when the laptop recovery procedure using disk recovery or the flash memory stick recovery

So if you want to remove the 2nd partition, you must create this disc/USB stick recovery before changing something on the HARD drive.

  • Satellite L500-19 - remove the recovery partition and create new

    Hello!

I bought a new Toshiba Satellite L500-19th with Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit). So far, everything is brilliant work.
I have already created the recovery DVDs.
As a result, could now delete the partition with the recovery program? I want to use the full space of my hard disk and create partitions as I want.
But I don't know how I should do this?
    Could you please help me?

    Oxford

If you are sure that the created recovery DVD is ok at 100%, you can delete all data on the second partition.
Open Windows Explorer on the left side where is the second partition, click with the right button of the mouse and choose the FORMAT option.
Choose the quick format option and click START.

After a minute or two, all data will be gone.

Please note: in the future when you want to use recovery DVD for installing Win7 the whole HARD disk is deleted and you will lose all your data.
Using recovery DVD you can not format the C partition only.
