BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 BlackBerry Smartphones

Hello

Just got a BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220, entered all my contacts, but when I try to use them in the contact phone adds book additional staff before the number, for example 861 can someone explain please?  The use of the United Kingdom on a Virgin sim card phone.

Thank you very much

Press the phone button (often green but he is the one on the left) to take you to the phone application.  Press the menu key (the BB Logo key) and go to Options.  Search smart dialing options.  Change this in the right country.

Thought, it would be a simple question but can't find an answer anywhere, so maybe someone out there knows...

When we add a call to contacts ("add to Contacts"), the default phone number to the job category.  How can I change the type of default (home or Mobile) phone?  It's a major pain to re - enter the number in a field below, then remove from the job.

    Follow-up-

I found two great apps that do exactly what I want and they can be downloaded from a PC.  From the PC, they can be loaded into the Blackberry via cable USB via BB Desktop Manager.  No data not necessary plan.

The two programs are "Add number 2" and "add to contacts 2", both by MobiChampion software.  These are available for purchase and download from mobihand.com.

Add that number allows a phone number to be added as a new contact in a very controlled way (specifying what type of phone, etc.)

Add to Contacts, lets you add a phone number to an existing contact, which allows once again allows you to specify the type, etc..

The two seem to work great for me; would that BB would make these standard features.

  • Traditional Chinese language of the Smartphone blackBerry pearl flip 8220 in favor?

I just got a flip from T-Mobile.  I am happy with most of the features, however, there is no support for the Chinese language.  All Chinese characters appear as black boxes.  Anyone know patches so that I can read and input Chinese (traditional Chinese)?

Your device OS does not support the Chinese symbols.

Ask your provider wireless for a multi-language OS device that supports Chinese characters.

If not - check a Chinese supplier for OS device. But note that your wireless provider disfavor using the device os from other providers of wireless.

If you decide to use the BONES of another wireless provider - use OS exactly to your device model.

Install the OS package on your desktop. After that, delete Vendor.XML file installed on your desktop computer.

Connect your device to the computer and update device OS via Blackberry Desktop Manager/Application Loader.

The media card is consistent with the version of the OS on the BlackBerry. The model is irrelevant.

  • BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 Smartphone: verification SMS crashing phone intermittently + semi permanent shutdown/gel

    Hello

    My carrier is t-mobile.

The first problem occurred using the original firmware and current sactioned from t-mobile.  (Application version: 4.6.0.180)

It happened the weekend of 2 days after that I got on the phone.  It was in my pocket.  I took it out to check the time and pressing the side buttons did not turn on the external monitor.  So I opened it and the internal screen did not come on either.  Then I tried to hit the power button, no power.  I tried to hold the power button for a while has yet no power.  So I had to do a hard reset by pulling the battery.  As expected, he went through the process long and worked after that.

Hoping to solve the first problem.  I searched online for answers and found more recent but not sanctioned by the t - mo firmware.

The first one I installed was the Version of Application: 4.6.0.236

I did have the problem of the closure since then, but I had a BOUNCING accident, when I try to check text messages.  It happened once with Application Version: 4.6.0.236, who was running for 2 days.  3 days ago, I loaded the Version of the Application 4.6.0.222.  It happened while I was with this version as well.

    Description of the problem:

In the home screen, I select the messages icon and click on it.  The hold icon appears and remains until I have shut down the phone.  So if I open the phone to the top of the screen is white except for a strip at the top that contains icons battery and connectivity.  I have to return the phone to a functional State, perform a hard reset by pulling the battery.  When she returns the text I received has disappeared.

I received a total of 5 texts in this time.  I don't know what said 40% of my received texts.  This is unacceptable.

I like a lot of the text entry phone and the caller capacity wi - fi.  I want to keep but won't if I have these problems are not fixed before my trading period is in place.  It ends in 6 days.

Does anyone have an idea if they are hardware or software problems?  Maybe I have a defective phone?

I currently have the intention to return to the original firmware.

Hi swordfishj360, with regard to the text of the message problems many users past 4.6.0.180 had this problem of update. That's why I stay with 180. So to answer your question, the more likely software. I also had my phone stop once like you did about two weeks ago. I got my phone in October when it came out and it was the only problem that I had. It was because of software that I downloaded, once it has been deleted, everything was back to normal. There were positions of phones rebooting several times a day, do not know what were the questions. If it happened only once you then it may have been a glitch in the OS or the software or the theme that has been installed.

  • Watch the video on the Pearl Flip 8220 smart blackBerry phones, how to make horizontal and fill the entire screen?

I have movies on my flip. When I look at a screen remains vertical and small. Is there a way to make the horizontal screen and use the full screen? Thank you.

After some trial and error, I discovered, you must use the blackberry Media Manager to transfer your movies and when you move the film selected your file to your phone, you must select the option 'optimize '. When I did this it turned the film 1/4 turn so I could watch it on full screen. To make the small of DVD movies to the mpg4, I use a program called "convert M2 to Smartphone". It works well.

    OK, that's my question... contacts.

You can use a third-party application such as BackupPro and backup your contacts to a CSV file or another type and then restore this file to your contacts on your 8220 using the desktop software.

  • BlackBerry smartphones how show appointments today on the home screen

The 8220 is my first BB. I used to have the cingular 3125 smartphone and was one of the most important features for me to have my next appointment show on the home screen. Then would come the point upward (that is to say 15 minutes) I would hit reject and would show the next appointment.

T Mobile BB technicians tell me that this option is available on all other BB, but they do not know how to activate it on the pearl flip 8220.

    Did somebody to understand yet?

  • BlackBerry smartphones HELP - CONTACT EXPORT REQUIRED... DEVICE LOST / STOLEN

    I've been a happy customer with an old BLACKBERRY PEARL FLIP # 8220 which was purchased new by my best friend in 2009 or 2010 and given to me by him, in 2012 - 18 months. He was beginning to have some edge left and right keys work less ideally, but it was always my very basic needs: I have an old boy who lives in 6 blocks from work and walk 10 minutes between places... and I use the internet very weakly at work and barely at all, at home, and I really don't need it between these places , so I only have a cheap incredibly good CHAT / SMS plan - without data plan (@<$32 th,="" total="" -="" incl="" tx="" and="" fees!).="" i="" send="" about="" 2-3="" txt-msgs="" (sms="" only)="" per="" day;="" and="" i="" get="" even="" fewer!="" i="" use="" the="" talk="" feature="" maybe="" 1-2="" times="" in="" 2-3="" days.="" i'm="" a="" virtual="" non-user,="" i="" admit.=""  people="" laughed="" at="" why="" i'd="" even="" have="" a="" smart="" phone="" that="" literally="" wasn't="" at="" all="" smart...="" but="" it="" was="" because="" i'd="" admired="" my="" friend's="" phone's="" appearance="" and="" functionality,="" and="" because="" it="" was="" free="" to="" get="" from="" him,="" and="" because="" he="" helped="" me="" switch="" companies="" to="" a="" lower-cost="" plan="" running="" on="" gsm="" (rogers)="" not="" cdma="" (telus).="" i="" didn't="" even="" use="" bbm,="" let="" alone="" any="" e-mail="" or="" other="" internet="" functions,="" games,="" apps,="" even="" gps.="">However, despite these rare and apparently "Mute" use, I got very valuable contacts in the phone that other people envy...) I NEED those.

The DESKTOP MANAGER version that I got from my best friend when he gave me his old phone is 4.6 v - and he said that it had been updated when he gave it to me. I realize that v6 is now standard (or even more?) and support for older versions disappeared. I also see that this v6 has characteristics which 4.6 do not...

I backed up before I went to Toronto September 13. I doubt that there is more than 1-2 new contacts, if even that many, who have not been saved. It's as up-to-date as I could understand...

I'm on ROGERS wireless in the Canada.

So: I happened to me just to pinpoint a phone no - BB that I like and I bought it with the intention of change when I got some time. I'm moving out of country in one year and I'm slowly getting things in place for this and I was intending to spend a recent phone and thenunlock the BB to have in reserve, but I accidentally lost my Blackberry mid-weeklast week when I went out a taxi... and it may be gone forever now. 3 days only after obtaining the next phone that I had planned to use it, I lost that before I could even spend!  I know that ROGERS has a PHONE FINDER function, but let's just say that wasn't functional in my case... we'll leave it at that.

    So, phone / device gone!

I hope that someone can guide me to export these contacts that are somewhere, somehow existing / resident in DESKTOP MANAGER v4.6 - in a format that I can then use to not having all the lost forever, and then I can re - load - manually, if need be - on my new phone. I realize that they exist, but not in any format I can see / use, at the present time.

Can someone help me?  I see forums / discussions and messages that show how to synchronize the device to record for export, synchronize and create a CSV, or save to export to EXCEL, but they that seem to all be configured the DESKTOP MANAGER and THEN sync with the device... I don't have the camera longer... it's gone. I've never done this before because I didn't plan the need... stupid me, I know!

I can recover the contacts from my DESKTOP MANAGER v4.6 somehow?

    Help?

    Thank you!

After reading some info on these forums, the ONLY thing I can even think to do is maybe trying to borrow from someone a is no longer necessary to BB and with it wiped THEIR contacts, synchronize it at my DESKTOP MANAGER and then load my contacts on other than BB... and then re-sync the things that BB with the appropriate buttons checked in the DESKTOP MANAGER?  I don't even know if it works... and I don't seem to have access to spare / balls unused of the people... no one I know has one, and still less a 'extra! '

    ?

    Thank you, once again,

    Paul

Hello and welcome to the community!

First, find the file to backup data on your computer. It is normally stored somewhere in the area of my documents, but when you performed the backup, you have full control over the destination folder for the backup data file. Given the version of the desktop software you mention, it probably has an extension of IPD file... the newer versions of Desktop software switched to a BBB file extension, but yours is probably IPD.

Once you find the file, your next step is your favorite internet search engine... the Desktop software is useless for what you do, because it is exclusively an interface with a BB device... nothing else. Search for your favorite Internet for something like "IPD File Extractor" search engine or something similar. There are several out there.

Compare search results and make your choice - before ask you, the answer is no... We cannot recommend one over the other. You must choose based on your own personal set of circumstances.

Then, get the software and use it to extract your data from the IPD file and save it in a "readable" format (for example, .txt, .xls, .csv, etc.).

Once that is done and your data are in a file format that you can use, then your next step is to find what you need to do to import into your replacement unit. Yet once, before asking, nothing here in this forum dedicated BB available to help you with that. But if this device has an import function, then once you have your data in a usable format, you should be able to handle such that you can format to import your new device.

    Good luck!

  • E-mail blackBerry Smartphones does not

I recently bought a T - Mobile Blackberry Pearl Flip 8220 kiosk at Costco.  Upon activation of the phone, the employee turned him under a BES account instead of just the regular Blackberry plan.  The contract was the BES, and then scratched with a pen.  On the way back, I was able to set up his Gmail account via internet e-mail from the phone configuration.  When I got home, I logged on T-Mobile, and of course, she always signed for BES.  The kiosk at Costco employee also transformed our T-Mobile @ Home House 3rd online wireless phone line, so our whenever minutes were used by the line at home.  This has been fixed without problem when I called TMO customer service.  Customer also stated that they did pass sound of BES to regular Blackberry service.  After that, the icon of internet e-mail gives an error message that it needs to subscribe to the internet service of base for $5.99 per month.  Everything else on the phone works: Web browser, Facebook, downloaded Google apps, Blackberry Messenger, etc..  By connecting on his account log - mobile.com to configure internet messaging, I get the message "your account has been suspended.  Please contact your system administrator.

After several calls to the the customer service and transferred to the RIM, the problem is still not resolved.  A form of disturbance was published while they are working on the problem.  Everyone had chance to get this problem fixed when they produce it?  Everything has been done.  Sent service books, HRT, re-recorded, account checking end of tmo, etc..  I even tried to put back his return to BES then back to normal.  It's so frustrating.  It appears that the system consider that it corresponds to a subscriber of BES when in fact it is not.  In addition, on the section of service/plan of tmo.com, said "you have a blackberry phone, but do not subscribe to the blackberry service.  But on the same page, blackberry unlimited web is listed as a service in progress.

-only TMO can solve this problem as there is no other other TMO has access.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not get appWorld to load on my phone (!)

    BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220.

    v4.6.0.180 (Platform 4.1.0.61)

    T-Mobile

When I try to load the appWorld on my phone, he refuses, which gives an error message.  I don't remember the exact wording, but it was something vague, in the sense of "your phone does not meet the specifications".  Best I can tell looking at the specs, it does, unless the "Device software version 4.2 or higher" refers to the platform (4.1.0.61 for me) and not the version (4.6.0.180 for me).  What can I get appWorld on my phone and if yes, how?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help you.

sdgardne is correct, that you must have a BlackBerry data plan to use the App World.  I think that this could be an agreement that has been in place between the RIM and the carriers to ensure that carriers do not have losers completely on App World.  Like that, they are always guaranteed fresh data.

Unfortunately, there is no way around that.

Note that Wifi is not considered to be a data plan because the data are transmitted via the cellular network.  I know this can be confusing, but once you understand the correct definitions for things, you will see that it is indeed correct.

    Hello

I hope that I write this in the right section. I don't own a Blackberry, but I want to know if you can, for an example of a Microsoft Word document, a document of transfer from your computer to the Blackberry Pearl Flip (8220) and then open and view/edit the file. I think you can do this with files attached to emails, but I wanted to know if I could just see the files in any source.

    Thank you
