BlackBerry Smartphone email icon is grayed out

I have a 9800 that I loaded my account hotmail on, and everything seems to work, except the e-mail icon is "grayed"out." Almost ghost like in appearance. I'm sure I'm not the only person, but I couldn't find anything here as I have posted!

Thank you

You probably hid it. Press on and hold until the pop-up menu appears, and then select Show.

  • Lost blackBerry Smartphone email icon

Hi, can someone help me please?  I have three e-mail accounts on my phone and until two days ago I had four e-mail icons, one for each e-mail account and a general icon in emails went as well as individual accounts.

For some reason, I lost one of the icons and although I continue to receive emails to this account they show only under the "general" or icon everything. I tried to remove and reinstall the account, but that does not work and following the advice given to other people on this forum who have lost icons does not either.

    Thank you in advance.

    1. on your home screen, press Menu > SHOW ALL, so that ALL DISPLAY is checked.
    2. look in EVERY folder on your device... Applications, instant messaging, downloads, etc.
If you don't see it still, look at the Options > advanced > Applications. Do you not see it listed there?

Now, if you don't always see on your "BOLD", open the e-mail icon > Menu button > Options or settings and find the setting that turns e-mail to the general account to the wide and see if that is enabled for the lost email icon.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Email icon disappeared

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any help you can give. I am very new to Blackberry and now own the storm. I have a problem with an icon for an e-mail account which seems to have disappeared. Its probably something simple, something I've hit or hurt, but I would like to restore it if I can.

Initially, it took three e-mail accounts. Each appeared on the view of the "Office" of the storm with their own icon. They worked perfectly for the first 8 days I have had the device. So today, one of the icons of the email simply disappeared. I still get mail on all three. I get the same opinions that I get all the way to (the small square message icon and a number, a (*) on message folder icon and a (*) on the icon for the account of that the email has been sent), but miss me the icon on the desktop for email #3.

Everything seems to be ok in settings/Email setup I can say.  I tried a soft reboot by removing the battery for a minute and then restart the device, but the e-mail icon was not. Then I tried to delete the email account #3 and put it back. He confirmed the deletion. It reinstalled correctly, and I get by email for this account, as before. But I don't always have this icon on the desktop showing.  I tried a soft reboot. No luck.

Any advice on how to restore the icon on the desktop?  I like the original configuration, with the main folder of Messages showing and the other three icons email it with her on the first line.

Thanks again in advance for any help.

I found it, there was something in this same menu that says 'Hide', and apparently I checked it somehow. I unchecked it and my folder icon now shows correctly.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, bifocals. Very much appreciated.   Happy holidays

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Email icon will not be displayed

I've added an email account to my weeks of phone and the little icon appeared immediately and I received messages.

Randomly, today, the icon has disappeared from my home screen (although the email will continue to come through my Messages folder).  I tried everything turning the phone off tension, then back on, delete the account and setting up again and nothing.

Anyone know why that would happen?

I have a few other suggestions:

    1. It could have been hidden or moved to another folder accidentally.  The absolute best way to fix this is to Options > theme, press the BB Menu key and select Reset default theme.  It will take all of the icons that were accidentally hidden and re - expose their (and move all icons back to their original position).  Note that you need to move all the icons you want moved again.  Try doing a battery pull after that as well.  This could bring.  If this is not the case, proceed to the next step.
    2. Re-register your device on the BlackBerry network and resend your service books.  To re-register your device, go to Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Table.  Press the BB Menu key, then click on register now.  You will get a new message from the BlackBerry network.  If you can access your site from the BIS, connect via your phone (review the configuration > e-mail settings) or through your computer (Google your carrier + BIS as keywords if you do not know the site).  Once you have connected, on your Storm, press the BB Menu key, and select send Service directories.  On a computer, select Service books in the left menu and return them there.  If you do not know your login information, you can contact the technical support of your operator and ask them to send the directories of service for you.  It takes just a minute.  Once again, followed with a battery pull.

I hope that one of these two suggestions will work!  Keep us informed!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Email icons.

    Hi all

I recently received a replacement Storm.

I got 2 emails, my Blackberry/Verizon one & my personal account.

How can I get these icons for these accounts is displayed on my new storm?

I went to e-mail settings and he said...

' Your account is currently set up for use with PIN [mypin #here]

You want to pass to the device with PIN [newpin #here].

Ive said no & its has my 2 emails from my previous storm to the top, but the icon does not appear for them and I always repeat the process every time.

    Please help, thanks.

If you got a changed Storm, your PIN replacement (the new Storm uses a different PIN from your old storm which was replaced), so you will actually need select Yes on this and make a switch device.

    I hope that helps.

  • Missing blackBerry Smartphone email icon

I've just updated the software on my Curve 8520 and one of my e-mail icons disappeared. I've had two, a work (Microsoft Exchange) and staff (Hotmail), but now the Hotmail one disappeared. I tried to delete and add several times (with turn market once again in the meantime) and she accepted everything and said it would put an icon on the desktop, but it didn't. Phone clearly recovers emails from Hotmail because I have new notifications of message, but no way to get home.

Open the menu. Now, press the key (symbol of Blackberry) for the Menu options. If your icon is hidden, you will find an option "View all".

Now, select 'Show all' so that you can find all the hidden icons.
Now, go to the icon that is hidden and press the menu button and uncheck the option "hide".

  • BlackBerry Smartphone email icons?

I recently got the BlackBerry Bold 9780 and I love it, the only issue that I have with it is that after I set up my personal e-mail account, that he did not have a new icon for it. My emails go directly to my original Messages icon. It's just a little annoying because my bbm go too and it makes it harder for me to find my new emails in the mess. Anyone know how I can create a new icon for only my e-mail account? Thank you very much!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

    Please check here:

    • Home screen > Messages > > Options > (main Message list settings) (settings of the Inbox) or > uncheck what you want to delete in your Messages

If this option is available to you and you separate messages, the e-mail account, you should then have a new icon that is only for this email account.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Smartphone email icon

I have two e-mail icons on my homescreen under 'All' and I don't know why. They say 'messages' and the other my name. Only, I remember seeing one when I first set up my phone. In addition, it does not mark the envelope to e-mail when I've got new mail as my text messages. It does on the very top, but that's all.

It's normal.  The 'Messages' folder contains all message types (email, PIN, registration, browser messages, etc.)  It can also be set to show sms, mms and others.  There will also be a dedicated folder on the home screen for each individual e-mail account.

Whether or not he puts a star on the envelope depends on what elements you have defined to display in the main messages folder.  Your dedicated e-mail folder (the one with your name) shows a star when a new message is received?

  • The send icon is grayed out. This happened after a crash. Tried all the suggested solutions

I wrote an email and had just checked out. Thunderbird crashed. When he returned to the top, the send icon is grayed out (as well as spell checking. I ran through all the suggestions of assistance (including the deletion of the profile). The computer with which I have a problem is Lion 10.7.5. I also have it on 10.6.8 (snow leopard). I'm about to give up and start to use this computer (10.8.5) for mail - pain in the... of having to go all!

Take a look and make sure that your accounts are always appear in settings.

Tools menu > accounts settings... It could be something is just rubbish following the corruption caused by the accident, but I think it would be pretty obvious simply scroll through the account settings if they look like junk.
