  Instead of factory reset try to reload the software of your device.

  NOTE: back up your device first.

  1. go on google on the field type in (blackberry software update (the name of your operator))

  2. download the software for the device

  3. install on your computer.

  4. Once installed plug in your device to the computer (without the battery)

  5. go to computer / driver C / program files (x 86) / Common files / research in motion / application loader / LOADER

  6. click on LOADER and follow the prompt.

  I can't enter text during a call on blackberry curve 8530. I am trying to set up my voice mail and when it asks me to enter a number followed by the pound sign, I'm unable to enter something.  I tried to use alt lock, holding alt while pressing the number, pressing alt, then the number and just by pressing the number key... all to nothing done.

  I kept checking the options and parameters and solved the problem.

  The solution is simple:

  • Select 'Options' (the wrench icon)
  • Select "phone Options '.
  • Select 'General Options '.
  • Change the "Dial from home screen" to 'yes '.

  Hello! I m very very disappointed!
  My bb torch9800 is just 1 year old, but has a big problem:
  The keyboard and the touch screen do not work so that I can receive calls (without the phone pic); I can receive text messages, emails, different opinions without reading the beaucause of all my keys are not yet the touch of the screen.
  I always take off my batery and then put if I want to read my messages or facebook notification. But the problem is when I have to enter my PIN: I have to beat again with the same problem (after an hour or 30 minutes I could success).
  When I finished reading my messages or when I finished for use. it freezes again...
  I m really really tired and very disappointed. I thought m to buy an iphone if I can get a solution to this problem.
  Is someone else had this problem? and how do fix you this? I really need your help (because I always take off my batery and put back every time when I want to use my phone and it would take me 30 min - 1 h before starting work)

  If what John above works, great, if not... This looks like what I've seen several times on a device with moisture damage.
  Even sitting on a countertop bath during a hot steamy shower or bath can cause problems with keyboard and trackball up to this JUST-withered. Really, it is more common than you think.
  1 the battery immediately! Do not turn on your BlackBerry device.
  2. allow the device to dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days * (see below)
  3. DO NOT "check it every day" by placing the battery in. Leave what would to dry completely. It takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can damage only (humidity + power = disaster).
  4. If the unit is hot after the drying period, let it cool to room temperature before placing the battery in the.

  Your previous lock icon is now only enabled when you have set a password on the device.

  If you have not set a password on the 85xx you can press on and hold the mute (on the upper part of the unit) to lock the keyboard. Or, you can press and hold down the a button * to lock.

  When you set a password, then your icon will return to the screen and is called Password Lock.

  Hi well I have a 8900 Jalervin new I bought in Yogyakarta in Indonesia. Its a great device but the s key is difficult to support. The warranty is with the Service Center acs in Jakarta, according to me. I'm going back to England in December and was wondering if anyone knows if I could get it fixed it?   I have recently supported a Blackberry Curve 8520 - I noticed that, once I had connected to my PC via Blackberry Desktop Manager, the icon for the keyboard lock has been removed from the menu.  I looked in the obvious places in the Options to try to restore the icon but can't see anywhere that allow me to ths.  I was also looking for hidden objects, but nothing seems more to be hidden.
