BlackBerry smartphone Web browsers - Opera Mini - Firewall

I try to get a better Web browser ' walk on my 8300.

Opera Mini looks pretty good (reasonable page navigation).

However, my firewall prevents linking (turn off the firewall, works of the opera).

How can I get the firewall to recognize the opera?

OR what is the best browser for 8300?

David

Emma,

Thank you, you have been very helpful, and the info worked!

Hope you did well in your exams.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Web links

When I had my BlackBerry doesn't matter when there was a link to a Web site, when I rode the cursor on it, would like to highlight the link and I could click it and go to this page.  This function one day stopped working and now it work occaisionally.  Any ideas on what's going on why or how I can fix this problem?  What is even more curious, is this will sometimes or doesn't work then in the same email.  Thank you!

Hi and welcome to the forums he!

Go to the browser options. Cache operations, clear all categories.

No data will be lost when you do the following: remove the battery while the device is activated.

Remplacer replace after one minute, let the device reboot 1-3 min, see if the problem is corrected.

    Thank you.

Try to clear the cache first (in the browser itself > press the Blackberry, aka the Menu button > select Options > Cache operations > clear all here and BACKSPACE.) When his memory of cleaning done, Soft Reset your Blackberry (traction 30 seconds with Blackberry battery on) and then test after its finished reboot.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Web browser problem

I was using my web browser yesterday when it rather suddenly a white bar 'dead' at the bottom of the browser that does not display anything.  At the same time, the small blue arrow at the top of the browser that could be used to open the search bar shows at all.  In addition, to make a new search, rather than scrolling up, I have to press the menu button and select ' go to ' every time.  Finally, I use to be able to scroll through a Web page by using the trackpad, but since yesterday, I have to use the touch screen.

I don't have these problems in my facebook application or in the rest of the phone. I would really like this problem because I use the browser frequently and is very annoying.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Each time a random strange behavior or slowness comes, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:

    • Pre-BB10 ONLY devices. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • Peripheral BB10. Hold the top button until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the unit to be completely stopped (for example, nothing appears on the screen, no lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red light. Wait through the entire boot process. If this fails, you can try the method of battery-pull above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.

See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Web service

I just got my Storm for Christmas. I have the email and web plan from Verizon. I often hear of this 3G service, but my phone says just 1XEV. Isn't she suppose to be EV DO? If I change the setting of the 3G I start roaming on ATT. When I browse on the internet, it doesn't seem to be that fast (unless I go to the homepage for Verizon). Could I have a bad setting on my phone? Why did they announce 3G if it isn't?

From my understanding 1XEV is 3G it's just the way Verizon has listed.   There is a difference between 1XEV and 1xev (note the lowercase)

In the Crackberry forums, there is a write-up on how change what he illustrated at the top right of your phone then it will show 3 G but I didn't do that.  I thought why worry, as long as I have 3G

Moreover, must make sure that you are in a 3G area before it will go to 3G.

    Good luck!

  • Native Blackberry blackBerry Smartphones web browser

    Hello

I am Nishant Potdar, I am owner of Blackberry 8520 curve, and very often I use the native browser of bb instead of any other third-party browser.

I have a question about this browser. Whenever I want to open multiple windows (tabs) in the only browser, so I can't do so, as I do the same with the native browser of android phone with which I'm much more comfortable than blackberry.

So, I would ask you to get rid of it as soon as possible and provide us with an update of the latest browser soon.

I hope that you understand my problem and waiting for your solution of expertise sooner.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Nishant Potdar

    Hello, Nishant.

Having several tabs open on your browser is a feature of the OS 6.  Unfortunately, your phone is running OS 5, which does not allow for this.

Some people have attempted to upgrade to OS 6 on their phones of 256 MB, but I would strongly recommend against this; your phone's internal memory is not OS 6 work correctly and you would run only in delay and freezing constantly.

When the time comes for you to upgrade, I highly recommend an OS 6, 7 OS or QNX telephone (when available) as your next choice.

    I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones in co-operative "Pointer" on Blackberry Curve 8310

Hello - the "pointer", the white ball used to "surf" programs, does not work properly.  I can move the pointer, the 'right' or 'left' without problems.  But I can't move the pointer "down".  I don't know if the pointer will go up "" because I can not move the pointer "down".

Is it possible to get the pointer to work properly, or is the cell phone broken repairable ir?

Push and hold the mute button on top or turn the unit off.

Then press the trackball and roll around in all directions.  You may need to do this for a minute or two.  Most likely it is just fluff inside, just like an old mouse ball.  There is really nothing in there that can go wrong, with the exception of the ball getting dirty.
