BlackBerry Smartphones blue LED makes Me crazy!

Hello and first of a UK based 8820 newbie.

My BlackBerry is connected via bluetooth to my car hands free kit blue LED flashes constantly which is a bit annoying during the day (it is mounted in a Windows support mounted in my line of sight), but at night, it's just too much. What I can't work is how to disable the blue LED.

I hope someone can help me otherwise that looks like some black ribbon will be glued on it and I don't want to do that.

Thanks in advance!

Neil.

You can disable the Bluetooth led by going to Options > Bluetooth. Press the Menu key, and select Options. Set the connection seeing on Off option.

Note: I heard that the setting of this option off can sometimes cause Bluetooth connection problems. So, if your connection has problems after disabling this then try put back on.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones unnecessary LED flashes grid my patience!

Hey everybody. I'm new to the forum so just thought I'd say 'Hi' until I'm in my question.

    Here's my deal so far:

I hate outgoing e-mail notifications and have not found a suitable means to stop. When I try to log into my BIS (I use Verizon), it is said to log on my phone. I do this and there is no options for filtering messages or anything like that. I tried messing around with Gmail and preferences the preferences of the phone and that you can't seem to stop! (does anyone think that raging huge construction when click you 'send' on your computer and you just wait that your stupid blinking at you seeing?) Ham, I know)

My original solution was to simply remove my email from my phone account and use app. Gmail it does work decently, doesn't seem as sensitive or fast as the curve built in the message browser and I cannot cut/copy/paste this is mind-boggling. BUT, I don't have to worry ever saw that effing turn on when I don't have to! (I suppose that this isn't simply the light, it is the fact that I have a new message "BOLD" and plays even if it's just the opposite of the 'new' for me)

Unfortunately, the facebook app relies on the link between your email to the BB, so I was with my original solution, my facebook app would be not updated at all.

    to review:

I just want to have my facebook app was updated regularly, but I don't want to have to deal with the crazy BB need to tell me that I sent someone. I did a lot of research on the web and have found work around solutions to people such as those mentioned previously:

Connect to BIS and filter yourself -could not find this option anywhere on the verizon BIS page. I don't see are email acct, answer to, your name, password, signature, auto bbc and remove the sync items.

change the profiles of sounds to inform any new electronic messages - just because it does not make a noise and is not my flashing LED does not mean that I have still a big waste stinking icon notification and "BOLD" 'new' message in my Inbox

I hope that my melodramatic rage has not put off anyone considering to help me! Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

WOW - Thanks! I didn't need to cite this particular KB in a long time! This is a Ko that documents what to do to correct the problem:

KB10332 Duplicate sent email message arrives on the BlackBerry smartphone when sent using a built-in Gmail account

Follow precisely - I know it works, I had to use the filter on the Association the first time that I have configured GMail. But, frankly, the best solution is the first... Delete and re-create the BIS conduit. VZW (and all carriers) have recently updated their BIS servers, and the only way to get the new version is to remove and recreate the BIS conduit. But... a cautionary... see this KB for reconciliations features you'll enjoy... as well as others, will miss you:

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not make a call, but can receive calls

Hello! I BBCurve9380 and somehow it just stopped making the calls, but I can still receive. I don't know if it's on the changed settings but on what I read in other forums, it's on the it policy. I checked mine and it says BBFS1 [GTALKAP1] and WLM 2.1 [WLMAP01]. I've updated all my apps and my computer can read my phone just fine. When I try to make a call, it automatically disconnects. Any help would be appreciated.

In fact, you have a lot more work to do, in light of your acquisition method. Reference:

    • KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after the purchase of a used BlackBerry smartphone

For step 3 stages of seller, you should replace it and it will remove unit COMPUTER policy:

    • KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

However, later, when you restore, DO NOT do a full restore. On the contrary, do only a selective restore of only those databases that you absolutely need (e.g., contacts, calendar, messages) and specifically avoid restore databases that have nothing to do with HIM, political, business or other similar things. If you restore those, you'll just be right back where you are now, as a full restore will conscientiously COMPUTER policy again on your device.

Note Please that I really have no idea if doing this will restore your ability to make calls... 100% of the information I have comes from what you have posted here. I'm guessing that the policy could be the cause of your problems, but I can't know that. No matter, since there is an IT strategy on board and you are not on BES, then you definitely want to get that deleted. But regarding if that will restore your ability to make calls, I have no way to predict the future... If something is the cause of this specific problem, then we'll have to deal with this - AFTER you remove the it policy so that we can be sure it does not hinder anything else.

    Good luck!

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, thinking... what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry smartphone Wifi to make calls in Europe?

I (accidentally) rec were calls at 30,000 feet on a plane of delta with my option wifi network only and after you have connected to wifi on Deltas.  This led me to believe that it is possible to make and receive calls anywhere in the world as long as I'm in a hotspot.

I contacted my provider, T-mobile and have rec has had their hand signals.  I am about to leave for the Spain and was thinking, as long as I put my phone in wifi only, I should be able to receive calls and data without incurring roaming fees, since it's all data or VoIP via the web.

Am I correct or off my rocker?

Tmobile knows that your device has UMA calling.

As long as you're connected to WiFi and showing UMA on your screen, you can make calls on your device. From anywhere in the world. And on UMA, calls act as if you call the United States, because UMA will connect to Tmobile USA servers and calls are made from this server.

Thus, for example, while in Spain and you call via UIMA, in the USA, your call is a call USA in the USA.

If you call the Spain to England, the call is made as if the United States, in England.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones flashing LED does not continue to notify received messages/texts.

I just changed the "BOLD" curve.

When I got the curve red LED would flash after a call was received and continue to Flash until I recognized it - "BOLD" is not, it seems if stop after the call ends. How can I make continue to Flash until I not noticed?

    Thanks in advance.

No, it only flashes not forever, but about 15 minutes total.

But to do do, press your green dial key to enter the call log, then Menu > Call Logging = and select all or lack, according to your desire.

Then, the red LED will Flash for about 15 minutes after a missed call.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones flashing led

How to turn signal flashing led?

The answer to this depends on what color it flashes.

If it is red, it's for messages. Go to profile profiles/advanced/active / and change 'Notification to repeat' to none. You will need to do this for each email, sms, mms, telephone, etc...

If it is green, go to Options/screen & keyboard/light cover and change it to off.

If you want to disable the blue for bluetooth connection, go to Options, Bluetooth, Menu, OPtions and change LED indicator connection disabled

Amber is for low battery, either disable or load the BB

That's all I can think about, but I feel that I'm leaving something... If I did, I'm sure someone will jump in and help.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to make calls from phone with my PIN code and fees

I got my BB also because I was also asked for my PIN by friends from across the Atlantic. How to make the best use of my blackberry phone to make calls. I know that I need a date of purchase, but can the wifi works instead.

You can use the WiFi for a lot of things on your phone, but unless you have a BlackBerry data plan, you will not be able to access all the features of BlackBerry like BlackBerry Messenger, Facebook, Twitter, etc... even in WiFi.

If someone asks for your PIN, it is so that they can reach you through surveys BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), which uses your PIN to log in instead of the e-mail address, your telephone number.
