BlackBerry Smartphones copies Mulitple Contacts to Sim Card

Hey everybody,

Sorry been out of the loop as the Blackberry World Online for a little while... Had a bit of a lock on the sites... Do not worry...

I thought I might test you all and see how far technology has come since my last post.

Is there a request yet to allow more than one contact to be copied to the sim card at the same time?

Or an update of the software?

I'm wearing now 3 cameras with me (no, not all Blackberry ) and the sim card gets a rotation. The contacts I need are all in my Storm, and I can't get them to the sim card again unless I do one at a time.

I just did some research, but all articles are 2008 so hoping there is something new on the market to solve this problem, other than the synchronization of Desktop Manager that I don't have outlook or any system of mail installed on my pc, nor do I want to Office Manager

Please help friends...

Becky

Hey bumblepie,

There is nothing updated on what I know... still one at a time.

If there is something I missed, I hope someone post.

I think that I would lose the other two aircraft ;-) if they are not sophisticated enough to manage a complete address book.

Not knowing the other devices, pourraient they manage something like Google Contacts sync, and you move all your contacts to this application so that you can synchronize on each device?

Where I am getting... what common denominator of an application or a service that all three have in common? You said that you do not use Outlook, but if you do, all three devices could synchronize Outlook?

Good to hear from you.

  • BlackBerry smartphones save contacts to SIM card

No, you can't, you must register first to the device and after to the sim card.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones move all Contacts from the SIM?

I'm changing to a 9700 for a 9790. I have a ton of contacts in the internal memory of the old phone and need to move all the way to the SIM card so I can pass the info on the new phone. Is there a way to copy all the contacts at once on the SIM card? Otherwise, I'll spend a week moving one by one.

    Hi jgazolm

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums

Not on our smartphone BlackBerry you can not copy all Contacts from a SIM card at the same time, if you want to copy you make one because the BlackBerry address book is much more robust it will be a different arrangement with a resource person and several areas of information (phone cell phone, work phone, home phone, e-mail address, etc.) while the SIM card SIM card allows only one entry per phone number.

KB04205 : copy a Contact to your address book to the SIM phone.

You go from 9700 to 9790 option switch device Wizard will use BlackBerry Desktop Software it will transfer all your data from your old phone to the new.

KB23677 : How do I switch using BlackBerry Desktop Software devices.

  • Smartphones blackBerry RE Newbie question: address book/Sim Card

I have a BB 8820 Smartphone & my carrier is AT & T. I previously had an LG view & upgraded yesterday to my BB (which I LOVE BTW!) I copied my contacts from my SIM card and managed to transfer all my existing addresses to the new BB. However, for some reason-all addresses see contact phone numbers in the field 'Work' rather than 'Mobile' or 'Home' "They were not show them that way on reading my previous phone screen - so my question is that I have to go in every & each entry address to re - enter the number in the 'Mobile' field & then disable it ' work ' field in order so that it appears as"Sue Mobile"or even just"Sue"when she calls instead of display"Work of Sue"there are entires that are numbers of work , but the majority are not & it gets confusing... make sense? Laughing out loud

Not to be confused... Yes you have to it manually.

And you need to transfer all the numbers from your SIM card to your BlackBerry address book, too.

Then, you can synchronize the BlackBerry to Outlook or Outlook Express and do the editing there. Much easier.

  • BlackBerry Q10 how copyi all phone contacts to SIM card

    Hi guys

about to buy a new Blackberry

How can I copy all the data on the SIM so I can just quickly move to the new (instead of doing everything manually)?

Is there a simple way to do it

    Thank you

    Hello

With the complexity of the ecosystem of BB, the SIM is quite inadequate to be used as a means for a switch of the device. Consider... the list of contacts BB has the ability for you to have a single entry (for example, a person), but with several phone numbers for this entry. The address book SIM is much simpler... a name to a number... which means that more than one person should have several entries on the address book SIM.

In addition, the SIM card cannot contain your photos, videos and other files that you may have on your device. Overall, the SIM card is useless for a switch device process. Fortunately, BB offers many tools to facilitate a switch cleaner of the device so that your data can be better aligned on how the BB it will use. Reference:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry in China using the local sim card service.

I have a Bold 9700 (unlocked) that I would use in China. I hear it can be difficult if not impossible to get a pre paid sim with vocal abilities and data. Given just blackberry e-mail and messaging or does it include GPS and Internet? Thank you.

    Hey there!

Greetings from China! I have a Torch unlocked with me I use on China Unicom (paid in advance) for almost 2 weeks here now (Beijing). I actually do not get the SIM card myself for IT... the hotel made for me. They said that it is indeed difficult to get them now because of the very recent new rules requiring all kinds of identification and of deposits and others. But residents still know how to get around this, so someone from my hotel he had for me. I just to have it reloaded today because I used up all my minutes... so bad since I'm leaving Wednesday, but the cost is almost nothing. I've only got the voice and SMS service... didn't need data comprehensive services on this device that I also have my VZW Storm 2 with me with full international roaming, so I have for such things. Just be sure to use WiFi when you can... roaming charges are quite steep. I was in China and Singapore, a large part of August and my VZW Bill was about $1 700. Should be lower this time since I had the torch of the voice here. And more do not worry about purchase (given that the hotel took care of that for me), I also don't worry about setting up - they did as well and a friend who speaks Mandarin make my top up for me today. Yes, I'm a bit spoiled by all help... but it helps a lot.

With respect to the network, if you want that data, stick with China Unicom - they have 3 G while China Mobile has only 2 G (EDGE). I can really make a difference when my storm seizes China Mobile instead of the Unicom. Finally I got to set my setup get only 3G and it keeps on Unicom all the time now.

Sorry I can't be much more help - I've had help myself and which lightened the burden on me. If you stay in a 5 star hotel, seek their help for sure. You can try the search at the airport on arrival... I tried but nothing of use (most was so tired from the flight that all I wanted was to get to my hotel and crashed). I saw advertisements for a service (I think it's something or other Panda) who speaks through a pre-order SIM card and have it ready at your hotel, and more with easy recharge service. I use them and I'm not sure that it would work with the new rules, but you can also view their.

Good luck and enjoy China! Don't forget to climb the great wall - you must be a hero!

  • BlackBerry smartphones lost my contacts on the phone and cannot get back them.

My phone has load the other night during a power failure and the morning my contacts and contacts BB disappeared.  These contacts are not lost, because it's my gmail contacts list - but I can't get back them on my phone.  I clicked all the buttons on the sync, but no luck.  I can't manually add a contact and not seeing him.  In the options of the contacts, it says I have 288 contacts associated with my gmail account, and when I manually add one, it goes up by another number.  But - I can't see them anywhere.

Also, I deleted the email account and set up again ensuring the sync box, took out the battery and SIM card and put back and still nothing.  Advice anyone?

You see if gmail is your default service for a list of contacts?

    http://BTSC.webapps.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB11471

    Check the sections under

For BlackBerry Device Software 4.2 to 5.0 or BlackBerry Device Software 6.0

If this is the case, then delete the account gmail from your device and set up in this way:

Since the device, go to mobile.blackberry.com
Scroll to connect and click Send.
Click on join now to gmail.  See if the sync works now.
