BlackBerry Smartphones editing a memory map

I'm not particularly tech savvy.  I have a Storm and I also have a Mac.  I bought 'The Missing Sync' of Mark/Space and trying to sync music to my storm, I got an error that said the memory card to be mounted.  Anyone know what this means and how this is done?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Follow these steps:

Click on "Menu" button (see photo)

Select icon 'Options' (see photo)

Select "Memory" in the options list (see photo)

Make sure that the 'Support of the map' is on.

Below there are two links to the images. Check them.

"Memory" screen when the card is not installed

"Memory" screen when the card is installed

The card is installed? Appear on the screen as shown above?

If the card is inserted correctly, it should appear as shown in the photo: "Memory" screen when the card is installed (see the message at the bottom of the screen with the properties of card media, free space, etc.).

Open the menu and select "Format" to format your memory card (see photo)

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Unlike other how things, RIM does not provide a desktop PIM. Others force you to use their PIM and only their PIM. RIM provides a driving software that works as a bridge between your PIM and the BB. See this compatible PIM KB:

    • KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager to synchronize
    • KB17022 How to configure applications to Organizer for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager

Since you have not provided any details about the reason she "won't synchronize", I don't quite know how to guide you further. Maybe if you tell us exaclty what you try, exaclty what you expect and exactly what is happening... then we might be able to help. Details...

Good luck and let us know!

Hi moreyn and welcome to the Support Forums

What version of operating system you have on your device, is it OS5 or OS6, you need to uninstall some applications if you're under OS6 for Bold 9700 doesn't have enough memory to run the OS 6. Also have you activated Memory Cleaner on your device?  Check Options > Security > Memory Cleaner, if it is enabled then disable it, because it also cause freezing and clock.

  • Remote access to Blackberry blackBerry Smartphones (EDIT: keyboard or difficulty)

The buttons on my blackberry curve no longer work, so I can't enter my password or access my phone at all. I tried LogMeIn, but it seems that you must be able to use your phone to get him in place.

Is anyway I can access my phone via my computer?

    Thank you.

Edited to add - I broke the keyboard with spray cleaner all by cleaning my keys I think that, even if it was a very small amount and quickly wiped. I don't regret doing backwards...

I have no driver of screws or anything. I saw some videos on youtube cleaning behind your keys to any blackberry apparently, but it was not the same model as the (curved) mines, and I have no idea how to disassemble my black Berry to clean.  A step by step to do this with a blackberry curve would be great.  Thank you.

'No. As a highly secure device, remote control would have never granted without the specific authorization first on the device. »

Does make sense. Does that include being connected via USB to a computer?

There is no BB tool (or any other 3rd party I know) for remote in this way. And even if there were, the answer is probably yes. BBs are available safer mobile devices... we have to live with some restrictions to take advantage of this security.

You may, however, be able to at least make a good backup of your data... depending on your situation, this may or may not work, but you can give it a try at least. You can find complete instructions via the link in my sig auto on this post.

Approximately, how it would cost for doing this?

I have no way to predict the costs on a local market - they vary by region, store, etc... By question... correct assessment is also the first step to receive a correct estimate. And for hardware problems, or those which can be provided remotely internet correctly.

AveAra wrote: and what kind of shops I visit to find a material BB technician?

A shop that serves mobile devices, BlackBerry devices specifically. Our internet remote, I have no way of knowing if such exists in your area.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how our memory? Hard drives must be defraged!

After that we use the memory in our BB for a while, adding applications, removing applications, taking pictures, deleting photos and so on, the memory get screwed upward as does a hard drive on a computer.

Do we need to do some type of 'household' or the reorganization of the House"to keep the BB works well?

    Thank you

on a hard drive, you have a file system. FAT32 or NTFS... this kind of storage mode allows files to be fragmented, and fragmentation (with the exception of the sophisticated methods like RAID) put the file reading and writing more slowly. That's why people can use the defragmentation tool.

    This applies to category A:

    • all hard drives (inside your desktop computer or laptop or external PC too)
    • all hard drives IBM microphone compatible with Compact Flash II.

That does not apply to category B (that's the name I give to the topic of this post):

    • Flash all readers (inside the iPhone, Zune, Blackberry and every single mobile phone or portable media players)
    • all Flash cards Sony Memory Stick, Compact Flash I, Compact Flash II (except IBM Micro-disque), SD card, MMC, MiniSD, MicroSD card)
    • RAM

for category B, in fact, more fragmented, more quickly. It's Flash file system controller (don't ask, you don't want to know).

Therefore, you don't need a defrag on the BlackBerry tool. But you need the tools that will free the memory. There LogMaid who will delete the log files, there are reset hardware (battery pull) and other tools, too, as memory cleaner that is some share in the features of the device).

  • BlackBerry smartphone edition fw Emails, hide a recipient list...

More than once I wanted to pass on my BlackBerry emails but the original list of recipients is so long and thorough, it's almost a shame. Is it possible that I can skin less (non-) or change the main Email, before you go forward? Thank you all.

N ° you forward an email, and any change in any way would remove the 'authenticity' of the integrity of what you are shipping. I'm sorry.

There are third-party apps that allow this... Look in AppWorld or mobihand.com for "forward with Edit".

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Voice Dialing memory full

I have a BB Storm 9530 running version 4.7.0.148.   I synchronize my outlook contacts with BB Phone.  I was able to use the function until recently to voice dialing.  Now, after you have scanned the contacts, the screen reads "device memory is full - please delete files in the device memory and try again."  My memory of the device shows a Total space of Mo 879,2 and 876,4 MB of free space.  The support map shows 7.3 GB and free space to 7.3 GB Total.  The memory of the Application displays 0.0 KB free space.  I don't know what to do.  I have really that many programs on the phone.  How do you free up space to allow voice dialing system works properly.  I have many contacts with addresses and phone numbers - is it possible that the contacts are simply too large to run on this phone.  If so, is it possible to make this work.  Any help would be appreciated.

While the device is powered, traction battery and leave it for 20 seconds before inserting it back in

    wait to start fully repeat

  • The blackBerry Smartphones to app memory device memory

Is it possible to move some memory to memory app?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

    # App memory is fixed and protected. This is how the work of BB. It becomes all about the good memory management. Check out these links:

And if these articles don't say enough, always close unnecessary applications correctly. And the red button or the previous button are the adequate ways to close applications. It is rather the BBKey and "Close" or "exit".

Holding that the BBKey will bring up the App Switcher Ribbon, which will tell you what is running. There are five who must always operate (BBM, browser, homescreen, phone, Messages). If the thing is there and you don't need, switch to it and close it properly. In addition, for the browser, never let on an active web page--which will also suck your battery dry.

    Hope that helps!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how reload BB MAPS

I have a BB storm II, and after having a software updagrade my maps is no longer the case showing. So I decided to download from blackberry.com/maps.  Once the download is complete for Blackberry maps Installer (and this adds ons under applications, however, there is no icon / app to run the Blackberry maps Installer, and I deleted the maps blackberry app because I thought it would be recharged from the procedure above.) But it was not. SO the question is how can I relaod Blackberry Maps App? or how to run the installer of Blackberry maps and it will reload the MAPS app?

I am also limited to BES.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

How to reinstall BBMaps is via the desktop software. Launch, attach and use the Application Loader section (it may be called something else, depending on the version of the Desktop software you have). That will present a list of applications available... Put a check mark of selection at the entrance for BBMaps and apply the selection and it will be installed.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not find maps

Someone can help, just got my first BB. It is supposed to have maps and GPS on however I can't find it anywhere. I though that I would download, but when I tried it, said, he had already been installed. No one knows what happened or where it is?

Hi and thanks for all your help. A phone to Virgin and after many calls and charges, as well as the different responses said to save my phone to the www.virginmedia.blackberry.com to record the PIN and IMEI code and access to all services. Its a shame that they don't give me this address at the beginning.

Once again thank you for your support

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not load maps / GPS work?

    Hello

Have a new 8310. Operating system is v4.5.0.37 platform 2.7.0.55I'm in Australia, currently with Telstra, but by train to change. Unfortunately I don't remember where I found the info, but somewhere on my phone, it lists 'maps' & poss. program number or such - not in the options or applications. It doesn't let me open tho.

When I visit the website & trying to download maps, he said it is downloaded successfully, but my fact computer noises as if USB is disconnected/reconnected and the phone goes Age with a blank screen & hourglass before going to the home screen, then it seems be cards anywhere on it?

I don't know how to get the job of GPS - I need the cards to make it work? All seems to be able to do is to click on "Refresh" in the menu & it comes back as 'analysis of the satellites... '. "but does nothing else.

Section GPS says; The GPS data source: device GPS GPS Services: location on GPS location: empty all the coordinates, nuber of satellites, etc. say 0 location caregiver: enabled.

On any Blackberry model, first make sure that you in a area of signal coverage is good AND outside with a clear view of the sky view in an open no skyscraper area.

For devices on GSM network, follow these steps:
Click Options > Advanced > GPS > Menu > refresh GPS.
Give up 10 minutes to refresh and try 2 or 3 times in a row.
