BlackBerry Smartphones enhancement request: ability to ring 'default' by type of notification on alert Contact

I love my new 9700 but I have enormous frustration and looking at the comments of others that I met today it seems I'm not the only one.

My problem is with the 'new' added when you set up an alert to Contact. I've been using a curve and the only option was a ringtone custom for phone calls, now when I activate a Contact have a custom it alert automatically grabs all types of message, it is a huge problem for me.

I like the feature, but the implementation goes against productive as it is designed.

First of all, messages must be detailed by type as they are under profiles, you must each defined Messaging service, as well as mms, PIN, sms.

Second, each of these categories need to be able to set the tone by default profile, just as every other parameter in the contact alert can be defined in the default profile.

Is a huge control and puzzle for me because I have forwarding rules on our BES that takes some emails depending on the subject and students at priority level 1, but now I hear is more my level 1 ringtone, it's completely productive contrary to one of the best features of the Blackberry, the ability to filter and change the emails through the rules!

You can set a distinctive ring for this contact, the ringing of messages, so your custom phone ringing is not the same thing as ring customized to the messages of the same contact.

I see your other suggestions. RIM has indicated. [email protected]

  • BlackBerry smartphones increase the number of rings

Hello... I tried to find a way to increase the number of rings on my blackberry 8330 with no luck. When I go into the profiles, Advance, etc... I can change the number of vibrations, but I can't seem to find an option to increase the number of times that my phone is ringing. It sounds only 3 times for me now and I often find that I can't not to him pretty quickly.

You can have the time before the call goes to extended VM by calling your carrier.

By default, the carrier assigned to 15 seconds, you can take up to 30 seconds.

How can I remove internal device memory/Samples / directory of photos, music, contacts and videos (all different subdirectories), in order to free the memory internal application device. I want to delete everything in that directory: (device memory/Samples /) except rings, leaving the directory and files intact. Is it possible to do without causing damage to the Blackberry Curve 9300 3 (T-Mobile branding). I'm running OS 5.0.0.846 and have version 6.0.1.18 installed Desktop Manager on my computer. I saw many posts in various forums of people complaining about the way in which their devices are confused and does not properly after trying to change. Is it possible to do so safely? • Hundreds of surveys BBM blackBerry smartphones add requests unsolicited per day!

I started to receive applications BBM of people I don't know in July, and at one point, it was up to 500 per day.

I deleted the BBM on my phone but I still get requests, they'll just in my Messages folder now.

They come in red, and some of them say <$RemoveOnDelivery,SuppressSaveInSentItems>BLACKBERRYMESSENGERINVITESTAGE2

If anyone else has experienced this? I tried Googling it but haven't found anything.

Is it possible that I can block my PIN to receive any request to add? He drives me crazy!

    1. remove your PIN to any sites that could have posted looking for BBM buddies.

    2. the messages in RED are like a PIN message. Removal of BlackBerry Messenger does not remove the PIN messages.

Go to Options > Security > firewall and enable the firewall to block any PIN messages to your deivce.

Below, click on "except messages from Contacts" so that you do not block the friends in your contact address book already. When you see this screen, you will see the appropriate settings.

I would like to download the appropriate software, but there are so many options on the Verizon site.  I run Vista on my laptop.  Can someone direct me to which software to download?

My BB software is up to date?  I read a forum to be able to set the ringtone, it is stronger, but you should only use the 4.5 software.  I really need one to have a strong ringtone that I have hearing problems and can not hear the classic ring, unless it's right in front of me.

    This forum rocks.

  • Upgrade to blackBerry Smartphones to v5.0 added a 'default', but with all my data in calendar

BlackBerry Curve 8900.  Despite the backup in advance the 5.0 installation always messed up my SETTINGS and programs as in the past.  This time, I find a new calendar called by default instead of using the existing calendar based on the name of my e-mail account that I sync with my iMac.  Now all my appointments have been made and nothing in my own email.  I have appointed my old calendar by default, but which seemed to have made no difference.  I'm never, ever going to level again.  It screws up everything and backup (I do it on a PC) does not completely protect my existing configuration.  I wish that RIM could not understand how to upgrade an operating system while leaving your settings and software only.  Other systems seem to be able to do.  Really, I prefer to use my smart phone more to settle.  I hate to be grumpy, but he has so much time.

Can I do all this to get the appointment to which they belong?  Thanks for any help.

Sorry, but I found the solution I need.  I did a different search that has sent me to a document that told me how to merge calendars.  you open the calendar go to the menu > options' when it opens type 'MOVE' (IMPORTANT because it threw me for a while, there is no window for typing, just type). a menu then asks if you want to merge all of the calendars that works then.

I must say that the book is full of (incomprehensible to me) reasons, why the upgrade mess with your setup in the first place.  I have an ipod touch and upgrades are seamless.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Missing calls - the phone rings do not

Sometimes my phone acts as if it were the silent mode: a call comes in and I can see it on the screen, but it does not have a ringing sound. The very next call sounds great, even if it is the same person who called when the phone was silent. The sound settings are set to 'Normal '. The tech at the local store guys are confused.

    Any ideas why this happens?

    Thank you very much!

I had this problem too, and the only solution was to reboot the phone and then remove the battery.  I brought back to the cell shop where I got it; they had placed the phone software updated and location of PRL, they even tried wiping the own phone electronically.

It was an intermittent problem, so I had to constantly check to see if the ringer would work.  If the cell store eventually brought down and replaced by a new.  Now I think it works very well.  Touch wood.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones QUICK TURN OFF / ONE RING

    Hello

I went through the user manaual for Curve 9360; looking for a quick stop ringing/off voltage. Pressing the key 'A' is a quick & easy to lock the keys. Is there a way fast & easy to stop the ringing/disable? If you are in a place where the cell phone rings does not fit, it would be nice to silence the beast quickly.

    Thank you

    Hi Tachyon2,

    Welcome to the BB community...

Use Curve 9300 n in this when the phone rings, if I press the trackpad, the stop ring (maybe too much work for your model of BB)... best way to stop ringing if suddenly your phone starts ringing at a place where it shouldn't sound...

Next, you can put your BB "vibrate" mode by pressing the "Q" for 1 second and to change to the previous mode, simply press the 'Q' again for 1 sec...

  • Divert the blackBerry Smartphones Vary certain number of rings before answering machine

    Hello

Can someone tell me how I set the number of rings (currently 3) so I have the chance to answer my phone before it transfers to your voicemail.

    Thank you

The above command works well if you know your carrier codes, if not the easiest method is to simply call your operator and ask a ringtime longer. 30 seconds is normally the maximum on most carriers.
