BlackBerry Smartphones have wifi but no IP address (Status: IP address is no longer valid)

Dear experts,

I can connect my Pearl 9100 to my home Wi - Fi network, but I can't connect to the internet.  For example, when I run the browser, I get the message «Unable to connet to the Internet...» ».

I can see on my router that Pearl has been assigned an IP address DHCP vi (just as one would expect).

Of "manage connections / Options Wi - Fi profiles registered Wi - Fi to select my profile / tools WiFi / Wi - Fi Diagnostics ' I see that" Local IP address: "is empty and that"status: IP address is no longer valid"

I assume something is wrong on the bead, because it does not accept the TCP/IP configuration served to him by my server DHCP (my wireless router).

Someone at - it recommendations for helping me solve this problem?

Here are a few other details to consider:

All other wireless devices work on my home Wi - Fi network, including a Blackberry Bold 9780 running OS 6.

My Pearl 9100 has OS v.5.0.0.748.  This is an operating system updated Blackberry specific to my carrier (Bell), of the 5.0.0.604 OS, which came on the device.

I don't have a data plan on my Blackberry (you may think it strange, but well, it's the way I want it).  The Bold 9780 which has connected to my home Wi - Fi network has either a data plan.  The absence of a data plan should not be a problem because all I need an Internet connection for is the occasional use of the browser when a Wi - Fi connection is available for free.

Thank you in advance for any advice, tips or pointers.

Hey - I found the solution:

Options / Mobile Network / Data Services - change from 'OFF' to 'ON '.

I guess I was mistaken in thinking that "Data Services" should only be enabled if you have a data plan.

Maybe this will help you more...

OK, so who pays for it?

    1. I'll make sure that you have the personal account of BIS activated on your carrier account.

Problem solved.  Simply deleted and recreated the email account on Blackberry.  Duh - should have done this before I posted...

Hiya, according to messages that your phone gives you... You will need to contact Vodafone.

In order to use most of the features of your phone as email or BBM data, you need a data plan blackberry rather than the generic of your provider.

Then call us Vodafone - I think that the BlackBerry Bolt On on the distribution is £ 5 per month with data inclusive.

  • HELP blackBerry Smartphones: I BIS, but BBM and Gmail only works on network and NOT on wifi

Hi all, sorry in advance if this problem has already been postponed.

I myself recently had a bold 9900. Everything worked well, but I met a pretty big problem which I spent hours looking for fix on the internet today, but nothing helped. So I decided to make an account on here to see if anyone can inform me personally with a solution. My carrier is O2 (UK), but I use the sim card while living abroad in Czech Republic. I don't meet with this problem on my previous BB (torch).

I buy a monthly BIS data plan and it is still active at this moment - it is clear from "EDGE" that appears at the top right of my screen when the network is enabled or "3 G" (with the blackberry icon) .
When the network is running - my BBM, Twitter/Fb apps, Gmail, browser all works fine (as it should) because of my BIS.

    The problem:

Once I turn the networkand activate wifi WE, my BBM and Gmail work & the BB icon disappears from the top corner, instead of move slightly down to accompany the icon of intensity of the wifi (which would always be the case on my previous BB) right.

What is even more strange, given that BB icon is still missing, is that my BB Facebook and Twitter apps still work fine with wifi on, just like the Explorer... So why not BBM and Gmail?

(Which makes me ask: I thought that the BB Facebook and Twitter apps necessary BIS to work?)

Anyway, once I enter the 'wireless network' > menu > 'Troubleshooting' > "Wifi diagnostic", the following errors are displayed:

    (1) UMA connection error. Status: Error of wireless network

    (2) infrastructure blackberry connection error.

I tried to return the directories of service, which made no difference.

    Help, please!

Well Yes, I tried yesterday (restore to factory wireless settings) does not. I have now restored the mobile to factory settings and I'm relieved to say that the BIS now works just the wifi.

    Thanks for your advice anyway.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Bold 9700 wifi but not bbm

As of right now I'm temporarily in Argentina, but my carrier is T-Mobile in the United States, where I have an unlimited plan. I have a bold 9700 with OS5. Now, with my T-Mobile chip if I get a WiFi I can navigate and use bbm. However, with Argentina chip from another phone (which does include no data) when I connect to wifi I can browse but do not have bbm. In addition, despite being connected, the rest white wifi dim (as opposed to the more dynamic version) icon. I am struggling to understand why with a single chip it would allow me to use bbm and why he would not with each other. It's annoying to have to constantly switch between the two circuits to be able to use bbm. Any ideas?

It's actually pretty simple. Your TM SIM includes all BB owners... when it is inserted, you have access to these services, because your BB can authenticate (happens in the background, you do nothing) to the servers TM BIS (via WiFi). With your Argentinean SIM card, you have no BB service... and as such don't receive them (because, not having the card SIM of TM, your BB cannot authenticate on the TM BIS servers). Regardless of the access channel (e.g., network WiFi vs data carrier), you must run with a SIM card which has a BB data plan in order to use the services BB owners.

    Good luck!

  • HELP blackBerry Smartphones: 9320 - Wifi connected but no internet

Could someone help me solve this problem? Thank you

    Hello

When you say that your WiFi is connected, I assume you mean that the WiFi symbol is white, correct? If so, there are a number of things to try. First of all, I would like to start by rebooting your device. To do this, remove the battery for 15-30 seconds, reinsert and wait for the device to reboot.

Once you have done this, if it still doesn't work, go to your options of WiFi and remove the connection from your phone. Reboot the phone by using a battery pull and then reconnect to the WiFi network. If it still does not respond, you may need to check your router settings to make sure that your router is to give access to your BlackBerry. If you need assistance with this, please post back with the brand and the model number of your router.

    I hope this info helps!

  • Access to corporate blackBerry Smartphones via wifi if e-mail isn't on a support

I have a torch 9810 via AT & T. If I turn the cell off the signal and just use wifi, I get all my emails professional very well. Don't need a cellular signal.

What happens if I cancel AT & T altogether and do not replace it with any carrier. Then I connect my blackberry via wifi to internet. Will I always have the corporate e-mail?

Part of me said 'Yes', because there is no reason not to. I can turn on the Bberry, connect it via wifi and get email. AT & T is superfluous.

Part of me said: 'No,' because I don't know, maybe that when I cancel AT & T, Blackberry (the company) "disqualify" me their server (or something) and therefore the phone is a brick.

Hello and welcome to the community!

BBs legacy (pre-BB10), all BB exclusive services, including e-mail, depended on an active account to BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS). The device itself does not have an email client full... depends on BIS in order to provide messaging functionality. And BIS infrastructure is hosted at carriers and BlackBerry - and is used for your email at any time, regardless of the channel (carrier or WiFi data network) that you have active on your BB.

So the long and short of it is that if you cancel your BIS account (due to the cancellation of AT & T), your email will stop working (because your BB will no longer be able to communicate with BIS), even if you only use WiFi.

The BB10 BIS is removed, replaced by a full e-mail on the device... so client, BB10 device can work perfectly for send only via WiFi, because there is no need to talk to BIS. But legacy devices must speak BIS.

    Good luck!

Edit... I just noticed the use of the word "business". If by that, you mean BES, then the same situation applies always... it is just a story of BES-level (from your carrier) instead of a BIS account which is required for features.

    See you soon!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones all my own e-mail addresses were gone this morning except the new gmail than the one I added yesterday

    Happy new year everyone

All my own personal email addresses were gone this morning except the new gmail than the one I added yesterday

I tried to re add them all and for the most part, it is possible but cannot add my primary e-mail address 2 with most of the friends as it is said that they are not valid addresses or the password is not valid. Knowledge I use the password so I can access it on a pc. Any ideas gratefully received.

    Sorted.

I have deliberately entered a wrong password, who brought a message asking me if I forgot and click on forgotten password link. He leads me one cheerful round dance other accounts and long forgotten numbers etc to allow me to reset, I did (back to the original) and I now have access to my email is on my phone and my pc.

  • Shutdown of blackBerry Smartphones adding + when a call from address book

Hi, I have an 8830 from Verizon, and I am currently in China. I use a local prepaid card of SIM of China mobile and it works fine. China mobile phone numbers start with 13XXXXXXXXX. I recorded a number in the address book (for example 13888888888, without country code), but when I open the contact and select the call number 13888888888, one more is added when he calls the number that looks like this + 13888888888... of course, this way the phone makes a call to the United States, which is not what I do. To work around this problem, I need to save the number as 8613888888888, so that when the sign is added, he finds the appropriate country code and the Chinese dial without problem, or save the number as + 8613888888888.

But I don't want to fix all change all the numbers, and I want to know why it is adding the most? Y at - it an option to disable this feature?

For info, if I [i] call [/ i] the number manually as 13888888888 instead of calling it the address book, it does not add the most...

Hi saab_rider and welcome to the BlackBerry Forums

Try this please, go to the phone (by pressing the green button), menu, options, secruit call, change of an unknown country code, try again and let me know please, thanks.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Twitter, wifi, browser problem!

Hello! I am having trouble, please, if someone can help me... !

Thing is: until yesterday I could surf the web and access my Twitter (I have the Twitter app and a "quick search with Google" app), but today, when I tried to update my Twitter account I started to have an error that says: "a service book for the IPPP is not found." In addition, the Google app does not work.

I checked under options / advanced / etc, etc... and the Twitter service book is there.

Also did a restart (out the water while the phone was on)

Checked under 'Manage connections' and WiFi turned on, with a green tick just next door.

So, everything seems like it should work, but it is not... any ideas?

(Everything else works fine. i.e. bbm, mail, whatsapp, etc.)

    Thanks in advance!
