BlackBerry Smartphones Outlook address command

I recently bought a Curve 8330.  I downloaded my Outlook AddressBook for the 8330, but names appear first then last name.  I would like to have on the Blackberry as the name then the first name.  Then family name is first of all the "classify under ' on Outlook 2003.

Any suggestions anyone.  Thank you!

Open your address book > Menu > Options > General Options > sort by = family name.

Good luck.

... "For help to resolve this problem, refer to KB19454 in the Knowledge Base of Blackberry Desktop Manager".

I did, and it says this:

Cause 1: the BlackBerry smartphone does not contain the PIM application you are trying to synchronize with. For example, the screenshot above error has occurred as a result of the application of tasks is not installed on the BlackBerry smartphone.

Then, of course the BlackBerry has the address book app installed, and if it wasn't the cause.  I followed some of the sons of other related expenses and came up with nothing.

I synced before - first time that successfully, this worked great, the second time that he kept failing, so I changed the setting to REPLACE my address book on the BlackBerry each sync, who has worked several times, and now this.

    GRRRR... of ideas?

Worked like a champ, with the only exception to the process.  When I looked at my address book to the end, he had more than one entry for each record.  So I went back to the process, but this time, before you reconnect and resynchronize, I deleted manually additional entries - for some reason, they were still there, even though I "erased" address book information!  I'm guessing that these entries were originally a part of the problem.  Anyway, once deleted I've reconnected, resynced ' by replacing ' content of the BB for the address book - and now I have great 2-way synchronization job. • BlackBerry Smartphones Outlook calendar removed off laptop computer during synchronization

I was snyching my blackberry with outlook on my laptop, as I had done earlier in the day very well, but the last time I did, it deleted ALL my calendar on outlook items (they are still on my blackberrry).  When I resynch again once they return to outlook.  I double checked in the Office Manager that he was set to synchronize both ways, and it is.  Any idea what I'm doing wrong or how I can get the information back in outlook?

I fixed it this morning when I deleted the Desktop Manager and downloaded the latest version on the blackberry site.  It seems to work now.

  • E-mail blackBerry Smartphones Outlook and BB not wireless sync. The BES.

    Hello

I recently changed from seven years of Windows Mobile to BB. I am on a BES and the changes I make on the prospects to your desktop or Blackberry (Bold) are not synchronization in both directions. It's frustrating. My COMPUTER helpdesk advised me to "clean up" the BB a couple of times and we did it. Also my manager office of BB is not configured for synchronization as by their advisor who they explain everything is wireless.

It of frustrating and makes me think how it was easy with Windows mobile. Help, please.

    Thank you.

Your BES admins should work on the issue of synchronization.

For the issue of the separate boxes of Messages, see this...

By default, BES email is made only in posts emails BIS icon/App are placed in their own icons, but they are still contained in the main Messages application. This is how it works by default. It is not redundant - rather, think that Messages like the Tote place, with the BIS independent icons being a filter, traction (from message) to them only messages that relate to them... but if you act on an e-mail (read, delete, etc.) in one, the change will be reflected in the other.

Your BES Admin can push an E-mail BES icon only to your device. This solution is free, but must be conducted at the level of the BES server and will affect all users on the BES server.

    • KB15003 How to create an icon on the BlackBerry smartphone to BlackBerry Enterprise Server messages

Or you can get the application to empower BES Inbox. This solution costs (per user), but does not require a change at the server level and affects only a single user.

Neither solution would do anything on Messages - will continue to contain what it contains today. All they will do is activate an additional icon on your home screen that is a filter for your BES emails only. You can hide or move the Messages icon/app out of the way, but beware - there are more that just the emails that arrive in Messages... it will come a day when you have a new message indicator and only by digging through Messages that you will be able to find this message.

Or, if you have the correct device OS version (I know for sure it works on 5.0.0.32 8 of the storm), the device gives you options for what to display in Messages and you can remove BIS email accounts.

I hope this helps explain how it all works!

    Good luck!

    Hi tterakita,

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

  • BlackBerry smartphone Outlook 2003 calendar will not sync with the storm

A couple of weeks my Outlook calendar (2003) has just stopped syncing with my Blackberry Storm. I have Vista. I was on the phone with Telus and they tried to help me, but nothing has worked.  I downloaded the new software for my Blackberry; I rebooted the Desktop Manager (version 5); I recharged Outlook. I tried to synchronize just a few days.   I loaded the Desktop Manager on another computer and that no longer works.  Tasks and Contacts will be synchronized, but not the calendar.  It turns on, said "wait a minute", and then stops without doing anything.  No error message.  After reading the other rivers, I wonder if the AEFI is corrupt (but have no idea what it is or where it is).  I also noticed that I have more "default device" as one of the options 'Send' - just Facebook and my email address (but have no idea how to get this option).  I worked on it for hours without success.  Any help would be appreciated.

I finally called the Blackberry technical support service and they solved my problem.  I had remove databases (because there was probably a corrupted entry) and remove the books of CICAL service on the device.  Thanks for the comments.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Outlook Calendar items being deleted!

I just got my torch two days ago.  Previously, I had a curve.  I've been sync my calendar and contacts for a while now.

Now I am panicking.  All future items on my Outlook calendar disappeared!  They are always on my new phone, however.  I tried to sync to new and no change.  I have triple-checked my configurations and they seem good.

    Help!

I called AT & T, which then received Blackberry on the line.  No cost to me.

Apparently, this problem was caused because my Outlook profile has my work email address, whereas my lamp has a personal e-mail address.

Here's what they asked me to do it, the torch:

    Options

    Device

    Advanced system settings

    Maintenance book

Scroll down to my email address - there were two and I do not remember the letters that I deleted, but it is said it again [CMIME] beside him

Remove my e-mail address with CCAL or something like that next to him.

After that, we did a one-way syncing my phone to Outlook, put all my calendar items.

Then we assign the two-way synchronization and did this to make sure it would work in the future.  It worked!

My only problem is now all my color code in Outlook is gone, but it's MUCH easier difficulty to have to redo the calendar!

  • BlackBerry Smartphone email addresses

I have 2 email addresses that I need to get rid of. When I go into the settings menu, it shows that I don't have 2 email addresses however when I compose an email it shows 2 current e-mail addresses and 2 e-mail addresses that have been delete before. No idea how I can get rid of these now nonexistent eamil address?

    Much appreciated!

    • Look at your main Options > device > advanced > Service books.
    • Scroll down and you should find TWO entries for each e-mail account.
    • One will be CMIME and one will be CICAL.
    • Delete the two entries for both accounts that you don't want.
    • Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.

When your backup, back on the Options > device > advanced > default Services and make sure your intended default email account is selected for both messaging and calendar.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Outlook Email

Not a Biggie, but could use some advice. New Curve 8330. BellSouth email set up and running very well.

It would be nice if the messages on the PC appeared as having been read after playing on the BB instead of always appear as new. Is there a setting that I missed in Outlook or on the BB or is it like that?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones my address book is gone!

I tried to copy my card sim in the Blackberry address book. Everytime I try, it says he did, but when I open my address book, it is empty. I orginally lost my address book on the phone when I tried to activate the Blackberry messenger. He told me that there are no contacts available. Once I tried the "use once" option and the AddressBook simply disappeared. Can you please give me instructions, easy on how to recover my address book?

Try going to your address book. Then, select your menu key. Then scroll down to filter. Make sure that you have not selected any of them. If so, uncheck the box and go back to see if the contacts are there.
