BlackBerry Smartphones Outlook contacts

Hello. I am new to the BB world and have a question. How recover you your contacts from Outlook? I have a Bold 9700 and a PC with windows XP.

I appreciate your response. I actually found the answer once I got to a PC and the desktop to read software. It is available through the process of synchronication.

Thank you.

I am a relatively new user of Blackberry (4 months).  I sync my Blackberry Curve 8330 with Outlook 2007 on a windows using Blackberry Desktop v 5.0.  While the right of the logic of the calendar synchronization, the contacts are not.  It seems that when I sync Outlook to the Blackberry, it just seems to ADD contacts, rather than MERGE them.  You can imagine that it means that the number of contacts on my Blackberry keeps on growing, with obvious duplicates.

Note: I don't '1 way', that I need not change on my contacts on the Blackberry transfer to Outlook.  It's a one-way street.  In addition, I know the work around - from time to time, I'm doing a "replace contents" when I synchronize so that all of the contacts on the Blackberry are deleted and new Outlook contacts are transferred.  Because I have about 4000 contacts, he is a rather slow process, and I don't want to do it every time.

    Thank you.

Thank you.  That "reset" seemed to have worked.   We'll see after I do some modifications, etc.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest that you clear the cache of the AppWorld application.

    For legacy devices (pre-BB10):

    1. open the App World

    2. go to my world

    3. follow one (and only one!) of these steps:

    3. for the BB keyboard-oriented - hold down the ALT key and press on, in the sequence R, then S, then T

3B. for touch screen only BBs - hold the num-lock (! 123 button) so that it hangs and then press on, in the sequence 3, then 4, then)

    3 c for the most recent (e, g., OS6 and 7) BB s, see this KB:

    • KB24714 How to clear the cache of BlackBerry App World

    4 AppWorld must close.

    5. If your BB locks after issuing clear cache, do a battery pull reboot

    6. return to AppWorld/MyWorld (it can be slow, while it re - sync). .

If (4) stage arrives not as described, then the empty the cache failed.

    For BB10 devices:

    • KB33818 Applications in BlackBerry World are stuck in a State facility and cannot be cancelled or removed from the download list

After the empty Cache, then to re - install the app, please see this KB:

  • List of blackBerry Smartphones Delete contacts

I show three different lists of contacts on my 9310 curve and I want to remove two of them to remove all duplicates. Apart from the removal of each contact individually (I don't want to have to do with nearly two hundred of them) I don't see a way to remove a list of contacts. Anyone got any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

    Good point.

I used Blackberry Desktop. When the phone is connected there is an option in the menu device named clear data. When it is clicked, you should see a list of the different types of data, you can choose to delete.

Each list of contacts is displayed in this list, but only as an address book and a number of entries - you can not see the names of the contacts list.

If you know the number of entries there are in the list you want to delete (you can see on the phone in the contact list itself) you can select the lists you want to remove. Otherwise, you can remove all the address data and create a new list of contacts in your normal sync source - in my case it was my Outlook contacts folder.

This is what worked for me.

  • BlackBerry smartphones download contacts

Hi, I'm new to the world of blackberry - ask if there is a way to transfer all my contacts from my old nokia to my curve? Or I have to input each one - by - hard - one contact?

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Usually the seller (Vodaphone in this case) switch them when you buy the unit. I Sue this option first.

If you use the same SIM which was in the Nokia try the following:

Import contacts from the SIM card to your contact list

If this does not work you can try using the Switch Device Wizard in the Desktop Manager software:

  • BlackBerry smartphones reinstall contacts

Hi my phone had to go repair so I managed on the basis of all download on my computer, the problem is I don't know how to get contacts from my computer to my phone. can you please help. Thank you

First of all, how did you "download everything to my computer?

You back up your device using the BlackBerry Desktop Software? If so, then you will use same Desktop Software to restore the backup.  See task 2, here: Article ID: KB03953 how to back up and restore data to a new BlackBerry smartphone

  • BlackBerry Smartphones double contact sent!

I followed the instructions provided by a Member here (I tried clicking Bravo, but it doesn't seem to work here are the instructions...)

    -Synchronize the device with Outlook

2 remove duplicates in Outlook (is easier than in unit)

    3. open the Desktop Manager on your PC.

    4. open Backup/Restore > advanced.
    5. in Advanced, you will see a split pane screen. Left pain is what happens to save on your device and the right is a list of the existing databases.
6 - Highlight on the right side your address book database and click on the arrow in the Middle pointing to the left. This will copy the information on and prepare it for the backup.

7 - once the backup is complete, click the button Clear down to clear and clean all the address book database.
    8. once it is finished, it will ask you if you want to save the backup, you have created, say Yes and check the device to ensure that the address book was properly empty. Now, Resync the necessary contact details and you should be set to go.

However - after having done that, I got all my contacts. Then I unplugged my computer to my camera and went out. Well, I went to look for a number and it was not "here. An hour later, he WAS there. Then the bb seems to be something about treatment and all of a sudden I'm in every sense duplicate entries.  It's almost as if it maintains the synchronization time and again. Help, please!

Hello. That's what I've done before, but I tried again. I just compensation on the contacts of my camera, my outlook contacts are in order (not dupes) and I synced it on my device. Everything seems good. This time I disabled syncing Organizer data checkbox in the Desktop Manager when I did.

Now I have to wait a few hours and see if my blackberry starts going crazy again and download of contacts. Hope not!

I noticed also just that Google sync they put on my BB to the store has been set to automatically synchronize the contacts! I wonder if that's what he did. I unchecked the option! Hope that.

    Hello!

If it is compatible, provided by RIM device switch Wizard will accomplish the task. You can read about it here:

    • KB05421 What is switch device Wizard
    • KB05459 How to use the switch device Wizard to switch to another smartphone to a BlackBerry smartphone

If this isn't the case, then you must use whatever your other device provides and export the data to a CSV file. Then, you can use the RIM software to import in the BB:

If you use the device switch Wizard, it will do even more than that. I hope that you will not have to do anything on the screen of the old BB...

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

RIM provides a device switch Wizard to migrate from another SmartPhone to a BB... but only for compatible devices. See this KB:

    • KB05459 How to use the switch device Wizard to switch to another smartphone to a BlackBerry smartphone

If your old phone is not compatible with the wizard, then RIM more offers the possibility to import ASCII and CSV files. See this KB:

    • KB04312 Create and synchronize with an ASCII export file
KB11194 How to import contacts from a CSV file to the BlackBerry
    • Sorry, but RIM does no research on how to get your data from your old device and in ASCII format or CSV... it is a function of your old device.

In addition, you could (I think should) use a desktop PIM for your data (and you should, IMO). You must choose a compatible PIM of this KB. Then download your data from your old device and the PIM Office. Next, configure the BB to sync with the PIM:

  • BlackBerry & Smartphones Photos Contact names ceased to show (9650)

    Hello:

Earlier, I added photos contact to all my BBerry Contacts.  It worked perfectly for quite a while.

But the last 2 weeks (or more), when I get a call I get no resources and no contact photo.  Just the number, which, if I don't recognize, I'm going to ignore.

(The reason why I have the names and photos is so I don't have to memorize numbers.  )

The contact photos are always in my contacts list, so nothing happened to them.  And ss as much as I know I haven't added new applications.  So I'm puzzled as to why they would suddenly stop showing when I get a call.

Anyone know how I can make them work properly?

I covered this Council and google for an answer and not found anything.  Thank you very much in advance...

    Hello

I would recommend to check if you have encryption enabled on the BlackBerry smartphone or press card. Go to the Options-Security Options. If it is enabled, disable it and try again then take out the battery.

    Thank you

  • BlackBerry smartphones deleted contacts repopulation when synchronized

I cleaned my contacts on my BB on the Road yesterday. Imagine my surprise when I synced my phone (Outlook 2010) and sync wanted to add 200 deletions to my device.

How do I sync delete my Outlook contacts instead of re-filling of my device?

Seem to have solved by defining desktop BB software to a one-way synchronization of the device with the PC and then re-configuration 2-way sync later.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Indeed, these IPD files are backups of your BB and are available as a source of food (they are a proprietary format and cannot be used for any other purpose, except by a few 3rd party applications that have been written to analyse). Choose the most recent one (the one with the most recent date and time, as displayed in the File Manager Windows) using this procedure:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Outlook calendar removed off laptop computer during synchronization

I was snyching my blackberry with outlook on my laptop, as I had done earlier in the day very well, but the last time I did, it deleted ALL my calendar on outlook items (they are still on my blackberrry).  When I resynch again once they return to outlook.  I double checked in the Office Manager that he was set to synchronize both ways, and it is.  Any idea what I'm doing wrong or how I can get the information back in outlook?

I fixed it this morning when I deleted the Desktop Manager and downloaded the latest version on the blackberry site.  It seems to work now.
