BlackBerry Smartphones Save a number between SMS and contacts?

Guys, I'm new to BlackBerry - got my first today in the form of a storm.

Already, I can't understand something:

If someone sends me an SMS, so how to save this number directly as a new contact in the address book?

Congratulations in advance.

in the message, click on its number (should say mobile besideit) and click on the bb button and that there should be an option to add to contacts

  • BlackBerry Smartphones save a number to an existing contact

    Hello

I just got a call from a colleague on his cell phone number. She is already in my contacts list, but I don't have his cell number before.

Is it possible to get the "BOLD" to add the call log number to existing contact information?

I don't see how it can be done, except by writing it down... not what I want to do really!

If you go in your call log. highlight the number and click on the menu and the number of copies.

Then go to your contacts and paste the number where you want.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, creating an Inbox for SMS and MMS text messages

I followed the instructions on the creation of the separate Inbox and it does not seem to have worked for my text messages and e-mails appear in the same basket when I create separate option, a separate icon does not appear on my blackberry. Anyone knows or knows where is this separate Inbox?

Hi and welcome to the forums

Make sure that the parameters are used:

the main line is KEY MENU - OPTIONS - GENERAL OPTIONS

SEPARATED FROM SMS AND EMAIL INBOXES.

Remove the battery while the device is activated, replace after one minute,

Let the device reboot 1-3 min, retry the function that was the problem

    Please let me know!

  • BlackBerry smartphone creating an Inbox for SMS and MMS text messages

I want to create separate in the box for GSM SMS and email on my desk at home.

At the moment I have on my desk a folder of mixed messages that I get both in and a BT Yahoo folder that I added and get just email. Can I stop the emails will the joint record or create a folder separate from SMS?

    I have a BB curve 8520 v4.6.1.314 (Platform 4.2.0.135)

    Thanks Chris.

These are the three correct choices. You run a custom theme? If so, go back to the default value.

Also, what should happen when you choose 'separate', is that you have another icon for SMS/MMS. You must watch why autour... everywhere, the home screen and all folders on the home screen (e.g., downloads, applications, etc.). Additionally, make sure that you select "Show all" just in case the icon is hidden... and make sure that you have this asset you dig through other folders.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones, adding emotions (Smileys) for SMS and email

I have a BB curve and my carrier is Sprint.  How can I add emotions (Smileys) for SMS and email messages?

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Emoticons are built in the Messenger. Its on display the symbols.

I don't think there is an option for e-mail. There is maybe a third party add in. Try a search on Google!

If this answers your question, please take a few minutes to address the message by using the options of the KUdo Star.

    Thank you very much!

I googled and searched the manual (obviously not very good!) but have not found what I did here. I have notived that I have a red outline around my SMS texts and emails. I didn't notice this before. I've only had this camera for a few weeks and I'm learning again all the in and outs. I appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction. Tahnk you in advance and have a nice day!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones difference between SMS and MMS

Maybe a stupid question, but what is the difference between them? I like just text, so I use the SMS. What is MMS? I must say that I am in love with my BB Bold 9650! I had a lot of cell phones, but this is my favorite!

The only difference between SMS and MMS, it is that MMS messages have an attached data (picture, movie, another file) file.

SMS = Service of short Message

    = Multimedia Messaging Service MMS

  • BlackBerry Smartphones location of saved Text messages and downloads please as a desire to update the device software

I have a Blackberry 9300. I noticed while testing option 'restore' in Blackberry Desktop Software 'Saved messages' is grey so not able to restore and downloaded programs were not included in the backup course so I'm delaying the update of the OS 6 bundle OS 6 bundle 1879 2949 until I can get these issues resolved. First of all, where are my saved text messages would be they located on the SD card? Secondly, where are the downloaded applications and how would bring him back, I should reinstall individually or is there a better method I guess updating the software of the device would eliminate any reference to them? Thanks in advance, Marcia

My problem, I think that will be most of the downloads and installations have been from the Blackberry web, although "My World" lists apps, I have only the option to remove and reinstall yet if I so choose. That's why I need to dig a little deeper on the aspect of the place here.

To reinstall your applications, see this KB:

    • KB17625 How to install or transfer has already purchased apps from BlackBerry App World for BlackBerry smartphone

You may also need to clear the cache of application AppWorld:

    1. open the App World

    2. go to my world

    3. follow one (and only one!) of these steps:

    3. for the BB keyboard-oriented - hold down the ALT key and press on, in the sequence R, then S, then T

3B. for touch screen only BBs - hold the num-lock (! 123 button) so that it hangs and then press on, in the sequence 3, then 4, then)

    3 c for the most recent (e, g., OS6 and 7) BB s, see this KB:

    • KB24714 How to clear the cache of BlackBerry App World

    4 AppWorld must close

    5. If your BB locks after issuing clear cache, do a battery pull reboot

    6. return to AppWorld/MyWorld (it can be slow, while it re - sync).

If (4) stage arrives not as described, then the empty the cache failed.

I was also interested to read your information on the primary database of smartphone that made me wonder if it was at this location that the saved text messages were built. I mention this as I save some of my text messages I can consult at any time by selecting 'View the Messages stored' in the menu messages text, which lists the emails and text messages, that you saved.

The Interface of Messages is against the databases on the BB... Watch a saved messages can be as simple as a filter that is applied to display only those, but always from the same database. Also understand that the 'Messages' is a term Super set, with "email", "SMS", and other types of messages into subsets.

    willismc wrote:
Saving messages electronic elsewhere are not a problem but saved SMS backup does not seem to be an option, why would I need to check this feature before upgrading the device software. Appreciate your answer to that one.

As I said, I suspect saved SMS Messages to be a subset of the base of great set 'SMS Messages"together with the message 'saved' being a subset within this database.

I can't answer definitively for you because I've never had the problem you are experiencing. You may need to test to know for sure.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones to check how many SMS's on my phone

Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to see how many SMS are on my 8120.

Ive found that it can contain 1003 messages with all o apps installed, so I want to remove them before delete themselves.

Ive looked through the options and the have not seen. But I remember watching this part on my phone, don't know where, but it shows how many SMS, how many custom words, pointed out how, contacts, etc. I forgot how to get to this menu, anyone know?

Use the backup and restore feature in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software. Select the advanced option and once the databases are met, you should be able to scroll down and see the total number of SMS messages that are on the device.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones display my number above the dialing key

My phone display "My Number: unknown Number" above the number display and I want to change my real number. "I tried the 'status' in the Menu which will then show my number: unknown" and the times of 'Last call' and 'calls altogether. It is possible to highlight 'Unknown' and to then display a keyboard via the menu button, but I'm not able to change 'unknown '. Any ideas?

    Hello

See the link attached for more information.

    Thank you

    Bifocals

This problem may be caused by one of the following:

    1. The phone number is not filled on the map of the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM).
    2. The SIM card was not put into service for the BlackBerry smartphone to recognize the phone number.
    3. The phone number is programmed into the wrong slot in the SIM card

I thought they'll just remove my password. my list of contacts, my SMS and my photos and videos are gone... I need to recover so badly... Please help... .anyone please...

I am to help you! Why do you ask for help please?

You have a BlackBerry ID. It is used when you want to download an application on BBWorld. You also need to log into the device then in BBM. There are some things in life that should be remembered. Your device password is one of them. You are suffering and begging me for help because he could not remember your own password. It goes the same for BBID. I don't remember your password or your BBID for you since I've never known them initially.
