BlackBerry Smartphones size of attachments

I recently tried to send a video of my 9800 device. Messages I have received from the recipients, I discovered that the attachment was never sent. When I tried to send back, I came across a message that caught my attention on the attachment exceeds the size limit.

Does anyone know where I could check what is on this level/size? Is it possible to change this, or is it capped by my ISP?

If I remember correctly, BIS 3.2 limits the size of 6 MBattachment. 8 mb.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Arrrrrgh! Attachments!

Since I updated my Blackberry 8820 to software version 4.5, I was unable to open attachments that I used to be able to open: .doc, .xls, .pdf and so on.

To answer the most obvious two remedies, YES, I have Blackberry Attachment Service installed and activated.  and YES, I have pulled the battery out of it SEVERAL times and done a reset to start this way.  Nor have changed the situation.

At this point, I'm ready to try the downgrade to the software provided with it when I got it, or completely change phones.  Not being is not able to open attachments base is a real deal-breaker here.

And please - do NOT suggest I BUY a third party solution that will open anything.  All I want to do is to go back to the same functionality I was previously, with the ability to open attachments basis, without having to pay for something, I already had for free.

    Any suggestions out there?

    Thank you!

I've thought about it... Download the spreadsheet to my card on my BB, but the strange thing is that ToGo does not have an icon to click on open a spreadsheet... Although if I try to open a worksheet that happens now, he lets me.  Weird how?

In any case... I guess that I don't sweat not the e-mails received previously that I can't open attachments, because they remain only on my phone for about a week, and I was without attachments for 4 months, if I lose a little more, if not the end of the world... especially since it seems to now work for all new incoming.

Your service CMIME notebook may be damaged.

Although you can delete and restore the service books, the best practice is to receive a new.

If you are using BES, first make sure your BES administrator is available first then go into Options > advanced options > ServiceBooks > Desktop [CMIME] to find and remove.  Then ask your BES administrator to send service book to you via the BES (Blackberry Manager)

If you use BIS, go to Options > advanced options > ServiceBooks > find your email [CMIME] and remove.  Login to your BIS site, http://carrier.blackberry.com and click on the service books, and send service book.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your BIS configuration for these accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones is this a problem with my Bold 9700 flash memory?

A few annoying problems recently with my Bold 9700.

First, my Blackberry has suddenly started to massively delete recent appointments in my calendar, which will attempt to remove them from my Outlook calendar when I synchronize the device to my laptop.  This has not happened before, and I checked to make sure that the schedule is set to never delete nominations, and it is set correctly.

Second, my Blackberry App World application (both on the device and online) does not display one of my installed applications, except one, but they are all still on the device and working properly.  I'm 18 apps installed from BB App World, beyond the pre-installed applications on the device, which are less than 10 MB in total size.

The reason I think that the problem could be linked to the internal flash memory is that whenever I want to install an application, I usually get a message indicating there is enough memory and I have to uninstall some other applications to free up space.  When I checked my memory earlier, he said that had less than 1 MB.  I restarted the machine and now it tells me there is 12.2 MB of available space, which always seems incredibly low for me since I installed only about 10 MB of my own applications.  So, I delete the file all attachments of the device and do not keep e-mail on the device beyond 30 days, and all media is stored on flash cards, not in the device memory.

The most important question I have to solve is how to prevent the device to delete data from calendar (it keeps recurring appointments, but has been deleted and everything before about two weeks ago).

    Hello

It's an automatic protection mechanism with BBs. During the AppMemory (not the device, no media memory card memory) get low, the BB must start deleting things to preserve its ability to operate. Unfortunately, he really can't go after data... it can't really go after installed applications. Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
      • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB10183 E-mail messages are removed from the BlackBerry device until the messages expire

In addition, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

Now, AppMemory is not just for the apps... the real BB operating system is here as well. Depending on the options you have included, which might be things bloating as well.

    Good luck!

  • Using software update to blackBerry Smartphones.

    Now to your problem...

There are two methods for recovering for you to try:

    One:

    • Open Blackberry Desktop Software & connect your device with the PC using the USB cable, without inserting the battery.
    • You have three Retry option, update or cancel, and then click Update.
    • Once it is at the stage of the "initialization of pocket" update, then insert the batteries.
    • If this does not work, and you get stuck on the safeguarding of social data feeds, go to the second method below.

    Second:

    • Start your BlackBerry in safe mode.  Article ID: KB17877 how to start a mode BlackBerry smartphone without failurehttp://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17877
    • Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow handheld to connect. If you are prompted to update, cancel the upgrade for later.
    • IF you can not connect or your desktop software does not recognize your device in Mode safe, please follow the instructions here to force detection: Article ID: KB10144 how to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader
    • Go to device > delete > SELECT DATA > select this option to remove the Social flow and smart card data bases and follow the rest invites you to complete.
    • Now, you can go back and click to update the device through the Desktop Manager, or restart the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue on the upgrade of the air.

Hello.  I'm new here and this is my first post.

Last week, I receive text messages that disappear before I had the chance to read.  In addition, people have told me they sent me text messages, but I never.  I sent text messages to myself from another phone just to confirm that I am receiving them and that they are removed until I get to read.  Even when I delete everything in my Inbox, I still have the same problem.  My phone also receive emails and SMS.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

You are facing constraints of memory in your device. Perform the following steps-

    1. Give a soft reset by removing the battery for 30 sec.
    2. Check the amount of memory is free in your device to Options -> status -> free memory. To view all aspects of database go to Option -> status -> click on the Menu button and then select the database size
    3. Remove the less frequently used application. To remove go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications -> highlight the application you want to delete-> click Menu , and then select Remove
    4. If you stored your image in the memory of the device to move them to your media card

    Check the below knowledge base-

Call logs and SMS disappear when the BlackBerry smartphone is low on memory

E-mail messages are removed from the BlackBerry device

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not download applications

Hello, I recently brought the new 9320. I have the card memory base San Disk that come with the Blackberry. Also, as soon as I put the phone I downloaded Blackberry Desktop Support software. The desktop software and storage on the phone at the same time options I have a 14.4 MB remaining on the phone storage and 1.4 GB left on my memory card. When I try to download apps on the phone via my WiFi it is said that there is not enough remaining space. I guess that the phone will only attempt to download the application in the device memory. Is it possible that I can get the phone to automatically download the application directly on my memory card? Or is there another problem that prevents me download apps?

    Thank you.

Hello and welcome to the community!

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and (fixed size) space as the destination for the installation of applications (the BONE itself more certain applications storage, overhead and such). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory).

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

Thus, issues of the app, it is a question of AppMemory... Please see the information above in order to maximize the amount of free AppMemory on your BB. If your particular model of BB has a limited amount of total AppMemory, then you must understand the mixture of 'must have' for you and then give priority to your "optional elements" in order to charge as much as you can, sacrifice these things of lower priority.

    Good luck!

  • Storage of applications for blackBerry Smartphones

Hey everyone... I use my 9790 bold, he repeats to me my memory to applications is 512 MB internal memory of the phone's 8 GB! So is there anyway to increase this limited storage for applications? In addition, this space does not increase if I use an external MicroSD memory?

    Hello...
