BlackBerry Smartphones opening of attachments

I believe that this has already been covered, but I can't find the answer.  I have a curve 9300 OS6.  For some reason any I can no longer open attachments to emails.  The files seem to be renamed winmail.dat and the messege is "the type of attachment can be seen on the device", no matter what type of file it was originally (.mp3, .jpg, etc.).  It seems that this has just started happening in the last day or two.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Try a traction battery (hard reset) as a first step. If this does not eliminate the problem follow the steps listed in the KB 10473

Please press menu, options, advanced options, applications and you can see a list of applications installed on your device, check if you have Documents to Go.

  • BlackBerry smartphones open word documents registered

I get the 'Internal file not found' error when I try to access saved word documents. I downloaded e-Office, but cannot perform the specified action. Help, please!

Check that downloading is the correct version for your BB and it has successfully installed. It is not necessary to have eOffice to open the attachments so that the unit does not use this application for you to see the docs.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones open attachments in BB 8703e

I get my emails from Outlook 2003 (Exchange Server) using the BB Desktop Redirector: this way I get all that reached my inbox at the office.  Even if my 8703e has application 'Service of attachment 4.2 BB', I can't open attachments.  The "Open attachment" selection is not on the menu when I click on the wheel.  Is this a limitation of the channel of BB to Outlook?  If so, how to solve it?

Total success!   It took me a while (and failures), however, to configure the OWA settings.  Two pointers in this regard:

-In our case, the URL should begin with https and not http

-Our necessary in the DOMAIN\user_name format username

The rest is standard: address e-mail and the same password when you connect to the domain, use the static IP address instead of the server name and domain name in the URL and the name of the mailbox (not the one that appears in the Outlook folder list).

Thank you much for the help.

  • BlackBerry smartphones open JPGs on blackberry curve

How do I make and save attachments jpg on my blackberry curve. I can see the picture in my email on my blackberry. I can open and download the attachment jpg but when I try to save or to image my image of the home screen I get a full "system files" error message when I click on 'Images' image is not displayed can not be opened it looks like a small stamp of an icon of the application - I guess than jpg, but it's not a mini photo like other pictures taken directly with my blackberry

    What?

    Hello!

The message "file system full" is the root of your problem. The reason why you do not find it on your BB is because it could not be put into memory. You need to see that you can remove to make room for this new image that you have completed. Check your statistics memory device (Options > memory) and see what you have. If you have a media card, start saving things instead of the memory of the device. If you already have an and it is full, then, well, you have filled everything simply your device... it's not much to do except to start deleting things to make room for new things.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Arrrrrgh! Attachments!

Since I updated my Blackberry 8820 to software version 4.5, I was unable to open attachments that I used to be able to open: .doc, .xls, .pdf and so on.

To answer the most obvious two remedies, YES, I have Blackberry Attachment Service installed and activated.  and YES, I have pulled the battery out of it SEVERAL times and done a reset to start this way.  Nor have changed the situation.

At this point, I'm ready to try the downgrade to the software provided with it when I got it, or completely change phones.  Not being is not able to open attachments base is a real deal-breaker here.

And please - do NOT suggest I BUY a third party solution that will open anything.  All I want to do is to go back to the same functionality I was previously, with the ability to open attachments basis, without having to pay for something, I already had for free.

    Any suggestions out there?

    Thank you!

I've thought about it... Download the spreadsheet to my card on my BB, but the strange thing is that ToGo does not have an icon to click on open a spreadsheet... Although if I try to open a worksheet that happens now, he lets me.  Weird how?

In any case... I guess that I don't sweat not the e-mails received previously that I can't open attachments, because they remain only on my phone for about a week, and I was without attachments for 4 months, if I lose a little more, if not the end of the world... especially since it seems to now work for all new incoming.

Thanks again for the welcome and for the help!

  • Backup blackBerry Smartphones opening files

I can not open the backup ipd files.

    Hello

Backup files keep data for the desktop software to restore on your phone if necessary. Cannot open files that they can only be read by other software (for example, the Desktop software).

You can try a third-party program such as ABC Amber BlackBerry Converter for the assistance this program can apparently read the data stored in the backup .ipd files.

  • Scroll of blackBerry Smartphones open all applications and functions

Strange. All of a sudden, when I scroll, applications open as if I were pressing the scroll ball. Calendar, emails, websites, applications open immediately. If it's an email, the response feature opens immediately.

If I try to delete messages, I can't access delete fast enough as the Blackberry goes to function as soon as the screen functions.

I did a soft reset, I took the battery and card, without change. Any advice? There seems to be related software, but I have never met such a problem in 9 years, I've used blackberries.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones open / view .tif fax to 8320

I want to open / view the faxes that are sent to me as .tif files.  My BB message is .

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I spoke with AT & T Unified Messaging Center .tif fax files.  They have referenced Solution Center technical Blackberry for indicate me that Blackberry does not yet support the opening of the .tif as they (AT & T) send out.   Apparently, it was only in April that BB has begun to support their files audio .wav.

I'm not no tech, so I guess if they are correct in the present, I simply have to wait for enough support changes have been made to open Fax.

If AT & T info is not correct, please let me know if there is no workaround for this.

Very sincere thanks for all the help!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones opening Word / Excel files stored on the media card

I just got my BB Bold 9700 last week. I used the BB Desktop manager to copy Word and Excel documents from my laptop to the card media on my 9700. Worked very well; However, when I try to open them on the 9700, I get the following message:

When you enter a remote share: //host/share at least, possibly add [/ file [/ file...]] [filename]

Could someone please show me an example of what they mean and how to do it?

  • Classic BlackBerry cannot open email attachments (appear as winmail.dat)

Just got my new Blackberry classic and tried to send a photo from my computer to my phone.  This message appears "no viewer available fo Winmail.dat.»  I didn't have this problem with my old Blackberry.  Can someone help me?  Very frustrating!

Hello and welcome to the community!

Then send something from your computer to your BB device email is not the most effective method, this usually occurs because of the way the origin of the email is built on your computer. For example, if your e-mail program on your computer puts the image inline in the e-mail, he could not get received correctly on the device. Or, if he put it in an attachment, it may not get received correctly. Regardless of how your original email program is to do so, please try the opposite.

Or, to make it simpler... Connect your classic to your computer via the link or the mixture and use the file transfer function.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones opening media files

Using the BlackBerry Media Manager I transferred a number of audio files for my BlackBerry Curve. However, I don't seem to be able to play them. I did the following: during the transfer, I chose the conversion proposed for optimal playback. When I view the files on my BlackBerry (adding them as an attachment to an e-mail), I see that they are found on my press card and have the .m4a format, similar to other files that I can play. Mass storage mode (never used yet) my pocket computer is not connected to my computer. Also, I had a number of songs (albums) on my handheld I used to be able to access but cannot anymore, even if I see that they are still on my press card. Any suggestions?

After the download of several multimedia files on your Blackberry, sometimes you have to do a reset. It is done to remove the battery while the blackberry is in place, wait a bit, then plug it back. Your Blackberry will start up (can take up to a few minutes), then see if your files are better.

  • BlackBerry smartphones open the file extension. BBB for my torch 9630

I need to open my backup files but the extension. BBB is not recognized.

Hello and welcome to the community!

The backup files are proprietary, intended only to serve as a source of data for the restoration of a BB. Therefore, they are not readable on the computer. But there are many 3rd party computer there applications that can analyze and present data in human readable format... search (e.g., Google) and you will find, I am sure.

    Good luck!
