BlackBerry Smartphones transfer Contacts from an old backup to a new 9810 9800

I have an old to return to the top of my old 9800 phone which I lost. I got a new Torch 9810 and tried to restore my old backup address book.

Address book - ALL a 2400 entries, but it is grayed out (not highlighted and can't be selected)

and below it is written

Entries that are dimmed are ready only and can not be restored

Can anyone help!

You have the sync wireless enabled for contacts?  Try to uncheck that then tries to synchronize the backup.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Indeed, these IPD files are backups of your BB and are available as a source of food (they are a proprietary format and cannot be used for any other purpose, except by a few 3rd party applications that have been written to analyse). Choose the most recent one (the one with the most recent date and time, as displayed in the File Manager Windows) using this procedure:

Well, that's fine. Maybe it's the best bet. If you add the missing contacts on Gmail (for computer) they will be synchronized on your phone. Try it and tell us. I have the same setup my contacts are never lost.

  • BlackBerry smartphones transfer contacts from a backup to outlook

    Well, here's my problem:

I backed up my old phone to my computer and now I want to take the list of contacts of the original backup (I don't have a list of contacts on my phone more) and save outlook or my new camera. My new camera doesn't let me do in advanced backup, each time I try, it appears as an option shaded on unclickable.

I'll be although it is an Excel or outlook or something... I want to just basically that my contacts back as soon as POSSIBLE

    Thank you

    Hello

You will probably have to get a PAID 3rd party player. Backup files (*.) IPD) are designed only to backup/restore of a BB... not for the transfer of the data anywhere else. But some 3rd party applications have broken through them and figured out how to extract the data. I suggest that you search (your favorite search engine) readers of IPD file and then select one to do what you want. But... I also suggest that you protect that IPD file... you never know what might happen to her with some 3rd party app.

    Good luck!

    Hello!

If it is compatible, provided by RIM device switch Wizard will accomplish the task. You can read about it here:

    • KB05459 How to use the switch device Wizard to switch to another smartphone to a BlackBerry smartphone

If this isn't the case, then you must use whatever your other device provides and export the data to a CSV file. Then, you can use the RIM software to import in the BB:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones transfer Apps from your old phone to phone upgrade

    Hello

My apologies in advance if this is the wrong place to post this request, but I just got a BB torch as an upgrade and would like to transfer my many apps from my old phone (BB Curve 8520) but don't know how to do it- or do I have to download it again? No problem with free applications, but would rather not buy those that I bought and paid.

Thank you very much in advance for any help.

    Anthony

First, plug your phone BlackBerry Desktop Software and click on the device at the top.  I'm not sure what the exact measurements are to transfer data to your new phone (I don't have access to it right now), but it is not difficult to understand.

From there on, you open AppWorld on your new phone and connect.  Your apps are updated on your new phone.  Those who have not been purchased on AppWorld will not; you will have to reload them manually, but all the AppWorld purchases will transfer themselves.

    I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones transfer Contacts from old Q10

Please help, I have nearly 1000 contacts in my Q10, but only a fraction have been downloaded on my new private via Content Transfer. These are apparently "local Contacts". How can I get all the contacts transfer or uploaded to Google Drive?

You use this account gmail on PRIV? If so, check if the contacts are synchronized:

    Go to settings

    Scroll accounts

    Tap on Google

Tap on the gmail account that has your contacts

Now check if the switch to IT.

If you have not added gmail account that has your contacts, then proceed as follows:

    Go to settings

    Scroll accounts

    Tap Add an account

    Select google

Follow the instructions... and your contacts will automatically be there.

To turn off sync wireless in the address book simply to go into the address book, click the menu button, click Options. Then go down in the 'Lists of Contact' section and click on the name of the address book. In the next screen, you can uncheck or set the wireless synchronization. Then try to sync with the Desktop Manager. Subsequently re - turn on the wireless sync to keep the address book wireless sync.

I am trying to transfer all my contacts from an old torch 9800 to a new torch 9800, but only some of the contacts are copied. Tried to do to AT & T store but who just duplicated 425 contacts I have all ready.  After I manually removed all duplicates... Tried again without success.  ???

Hmmm... have you attached the switch device Wizard in the BlackBerry Desktop Software?

If so, I suggest you install BlackBerry Protect on the old device, backup on WiFi.

When you get the new device upward and the race, install BBProtect on it and restore it from the backup more air.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones copy contacts from Nokia 6500 to bb 8220 pearl flip

I need to move/copy contacts from my Nokia 6500 to bb 8220 pearl, I already downloaded the bb desktop software... ideas pls?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

RIM provides a device switch Wizard to migrate from another SmartPhone to a BB... but only for compatible devices. See this KB:

    • KB05459 How to use the switch device Wizard to switch to another smartphone to a BlackBerry smartphone

If your old phone is not compatible with the wizard, then RIM more offers the possibility to import ASCII and CSV files. See this KB:

    • KB04312 Create and synchronize with an ASCII export file
KB11194 How to import contacts from a CSV file to the BlackBerry
    • Sorry, but RIM does no research on how to get your data from your old device and in ASCII format or CSV... it is a function of your old device.

In addition, you could (I think should) use a desktop PIM for your data (and you should, IMO). You must choose a compatible PIM of this KB. Then download your data from your old device and the PIM Office. Next, configure the BB to sync with the PIM:

  • Q10 blackBerry problem transfer contacts from Gmail to Q10

First I tried to use the "peripheral" app switch, and I tried to transfer contacts and the calendar of a Samsung S3 to the Q10 - does not work, nothing has been recorded.

Then I tried to manually enter some contact entries, and that no longer works (you press "save", but it is not saved).

Email gmail works fine, great syncs and everything, but NO contacts list available.

Very frustrating. If big names like Gmail and Blackberry OS 10 cannot talk to each other, what the heck!

(I should mention that all OS updates have been made, it is perfectly up to date)

any help and advice would be much appreciated.
