  1. While you still can, on your BlackBerry smartphone, change the password to something very simple, alpha characters only, not numbers, without capital letters. This is so the case... a friend gave me a Blackberry Curve 9300 to use (cause it not to use) cause my old phone went kaput. in any case, I turned it on and I see a written screen KOODOO mobile (a telephone to the Canada company) and then immediately a screen saying "DEVICE is locked". When I choose to open it says "Enter password" and I can't get past this screen for something else. My friend doesn't remember the password. He had introduced FIDO sim card so I'm thinking that the phone is unlocked... I have a FIDO sim card also. Can someone help me understand this? What I have to go to the KOODOO store and ask them to unlock or to anyone who makes the unlocking the phones? Or can someone here help me? Thank you

  BBs are very secure - only the password created by the user can unlock the BB. There is no password 'master' or 'ignore' to do so... only the password created by the user can do.

  But, you can maybe in luck still... refer:

  No not the password the maximum time will initiate a WIPE on the device, which is part of these important instructions.   You must check if your BB is unlocked or not... see this:

  If, for example, your BB is locked to Rogers, then when you try to use a Fido SIM, it might have to run via the Rogers network to get Fido. Or, if Fido has coverage where you are, it may have to wander on Rogers for Fido.

  Regarding billing, you must talk to Fido or Rogers.

  You must as KB says... wait and keep control of the KB for the updates. If you want to push harder, your channel is to push to ATT, since it is they who are in control of this last stage of the cycle version operating system.

  If I lock the keyboard (outfit a), I can't unlock it.  I'm new on a blackberry, so maybe I'm missing something.  But according to the phone, manual and a lot of research on Google, it should unlock by pressing A again.  (or a + button send)

  I tried a lot of different keyboard combos, but not luck.

  Power off is it opens.  In fact, I generally that power down, then interrupt the power down (by pressing any key) and then the keyboard is unlocked.  But it's pretty incoonvenient.

  On the top of your phone on the left is a button lock under the black panel. Press to lock and unlock. Press and hold the a button lock but not unlock on mine and I have a different operating system.

  I want to give my daughter an old Verizon BlackBerry Curve 8530 to use as a device with wifi, gmail/cat-only.  It is not active with Verizon (meaning that it has long - since been disabled and is not a phone number that are associated with him).

  I can't say what OS you're on, but if I remember correctly the last OS for this model was the one where there was no possibility to make it work on WiFi only. These levels of devices/OS required an active subscription from a company to a data plan BB in order to use all services, even via WiFi only.

  I know that's what you were eager to learn, but it is what it is.

  Greetings!  A day or two before, my 9350 has stopped responding.  It is as if it is locked and I can't unlock it.  I also noticed that it is in "charge only" mode  I wonder if that's part of the problem?  How to solve this?  I welcome any ideas.

  You will need to talk to your mobile service provider. Some do not allow the BBs on their network without a complete BB data plan. Can additional you can have a generic data plan.

  In addition, you must check your GPS application... If it works with a generic data plan, so it should work fine if your carrier allows you (according to the above). If the application requires a complete BB data plan, then it would be necessary. It depends of your GPS application... the GPS itself in the device simply receives signals from the GPS satellites... it is the GPS application to process this information and combine it with card data obtained through your data connection.

  Just to update if some interested-, I found a way to activate Hebrew on the device.

  I downloaded the software from T-Mobile Germany here: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

  And then in the update of the Blackberry Desktop software allowed me to activate Hebrew to display languages.

• Email accounts two blackBerry Smartphones, want only audible notification for one of them

  I have two e-mail accounts, account A is my corporate email account, account B is the account I have set up for blackberry.net ([email protected]).  I tried unsuccessfully to set up different alerts for different e-mail accounts.  Basically, I want to activate audibles for account B only, so that I can use the Blackberry as a paging device, only distributing this email account for paging on appeal.

  Is could someone please tell me if this is possible?  At the same time, I got on alert, but it was for each e-mail, including the e-mail company, so it's been pretty useless in my case.

  NOTE: I already tried bbalerts.  AFAIK, it warns when subject: and from: lines, not the To: line.
