  Without BB service there is very little that you can do on the phone outside phone and text.

  The storm should work in more places than on any other device you have.  Don't forget to connect with Verizon's global service (there is information that comes with the phone on, its special service and they have an international number) and make sure that the phone is enabled for international use.  THIS IS CRUCIAL.   You can also ask them what countries they take over.   Essentially the SIM card that comes with the storm's of Vodaphone, so does anyone have a joint contract with Vodafone should work.

  When you talk to Verizon, tell them that you spend long periods abroad and you want to use other SIM cards in your phone.  They will be open to you.  So, if you find a place that does not support the agreement of vodaphone, you can pick up a local SIM card and put it in the BB.   In other words, if you are in a meeting and on vibrate or silent mode, the phone will ring always if a call is received by a contact with a custom ring tone.  It is a defect and design MAJOR, in my view, totally unacceptable.  On all other BBs, vibrate and silent mode apply to all calls/messages - even those with custom ringtones.  Why is different from the storm.  He made the custom meaningless since once assigned ringtones, they can never extinguish. so for BB users who regularly attend meetings beware!  Assign a custom ring tone will be a career limiting move.

  As a loyal BB user for 5 years and more, I humbly ask RIM to fix this ASAP!

  I guess that when I changed it to the volume of the active profile that it would float to the active profile, being far away when it is to vibrate or silent or normal.  That doesn't seem to be the case.  It would be more logical than sense, though.

  However, I made a temporary fix.  I created a custom profile I call silent default.  I put the ringtone in this profile to:

  Ringtone: Ringer_ClassicPhone

  Volumeilent

  LED: Normal setting

  Vibration: on

  This causes the vibration when one of the call of people custom ringtone.

  I get is no longer an apostrophe in my text or BBM messages when you type words such as don't or won't and I am they come simply as, custom and Im.

  Any ideas? It worked from last Friday that I returned and checked. I added no matter what software or applications. Recently, I did a sync via Desktop Manager but do not think that he died. Cannot guarantee that it is when it is coming.

  Sorry for the delay, been busy. I checked the KB article and was going to check this out, however when in the folder of BB, I found a 'Language' tab and clicked on it.

  For some reason any in "Lnaguage" my "input language" has been updated with the Español. I changed it to English and I now have my apostrophe back.

  In your windows, press start-run

  Type cmd and press enter

  In the window that opens, find the folder with javaloader.exe

  Connect your device and type the command:

  JavaLoader - usb wipe funambol f

  and press enter

  It will remove this cod of the device file.

  I've been playing with my new torch 9810 and now the battery seems to be draining like crazy (up to 10% after having just three hours hanging out, not a single call done) - and some programs play AND I get a message indicating that the camera photo and video camera are in use although I'm not using the.

  Is there a virus on this thingy? -How do I know? has someone hijacked my camera to spy on me?

  I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

  It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

  If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

  But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '.   Hi all. I wrote an SMS application which works successfully on my BlackBerry 8310 (on AT & T wireless). However, whenever I run the application, I get this annoying security message that says: "request has attempted to access the network. You want to allow this? ». Is there a way I can get rid of it, as it has become VERY difficult to answer this prompt whenever I run the application. I have already disappeared in the options--> options--> permissions and put everything to 'allow' for my request without success. I read this topic and my first inclination would be to assume that it is not possible due to AT & T/Cingular lock the phone via the security built into the handset:

  You should be able to get rid of this message by the activation of the firewall. Click options, then security, then firewall. Activate and save.

  Is it possible to synchronize a curve (8300) blackberry and a calendar outlook without the data package? I called 611 and they said I had to have the data package to synchronize my calendar? I was able to do it with the razor without a data packet or a bunch of text. There may be a 3rd party software out there that anyone knows of.

  Really all people I know have given blackberry plan, but I think nobody needs internet access to synchronize the device with the pc with a data cable.

  Hi all, I just got a BB Curve 9320 model to replace my LG dead.  I use the phone for my convenience only but I fondly I remember my old Palm Pilot and it's wonderful calendar application that allows me to keep track of my life and where I was supposed to be and when.  I had hoped that the curve would be able to do the same thing with its calendar function.  I thought that using the BB desktop and connect my laptop to enable them to communicate that I would have the same function, like the Palm Pilot has made in my previous life of the curve.  Unfortunately, I have not been able to get it to operate than I had imagined... I do something bad or without the data plan is - it simply not possible?

  What is wrong is your waiting... what you expect is not a feature designed... a few things to discuss... so bear with me...

  Unlike other how things, RIM does not provide a desktop PIM. Others force you to use their PIM and only their PIM. RIM provides a driving software that works as a bridge between your PIM and the BB. See this compatible PIM KB:

  So, to do what you want requires the use of a desktop PIM for your data... Choose a compatible PIM (from above). Then, enter your data in the PIM Office. Next, configure the BB to sync with the PIM:

  I just got my BB Storm yesterday and maybe return.  I found that some software does not work on it because she needs another way to scroll and I can't use it without a trackball. Is it possible to use it without using the touch screen.  I know that's the beauty of this new phone but its useless with most of the software.  And I thot I saw advertised with the possibility of using YouTube in the United States, I had to screw not UK.  Perhaps rturn to my BB Curve

  I have this problem that I'm trying to work around. On my yahoo mail, I've created rules for certain categories of emails coming. These rules to move messages that meet the criteria for folders that I created.

  Now I have yahoo mail configured on my blackbery device but not to receive emails from other folders. All I get is emails that appear in my main Inbox folder.

  Through the settings on my phone and can't find an option or a setting that can help me solve this problem.

  Ideas anyone?

  using BIS, it's the processing order:
  1 your Y! mail server receives e-mails
  2 your Y! mail server applies the rules
  3 your Y! mail server sends messages from the Inbox to your server of BIS
  4 your BIS server sends the emails to your BlackBerry smartphone

  Therefore, there is no way to do what you want using Yahoo!.

  I can suggest you see if it is possible to have the rules applied subsequently (I don't think it's possible with the electronic mail of Yahoo!).

  If you want to automatically move messages into folders and have them on your device, you must use an e-mail provider that allows it. To this day, I know Microsoft Exchange can (in a corporate environment) and Google Mail (because the records are considered labels).
