BlackBerry with Verizon Smartphones MMS

Hello, my friend with Verizon wants to get a curve and asked me my opinion on this subject. I would like to know if you can send MMS messages with it. This is a very important feature for him and I know its been a problem for me with Sprint. Any info would be appricated. Thank you

Thanks, but that doesn't really help. I just want to know if Verizon allows customers of Blackberry send by MMS picture messages... I have sprint and while I can receive it I can not send messages, I want to assure you that Verizon is not in the same way

Yes, Verizon allows customers to Blackberry send pictures by MMS.  Just make sure that you get a bunch of text or you will be charged for each txt or mms individually.  I have it myself.

  • BlackBerry with bluetooth Smartphones sync

My wife has a 7290 I want to synchronize with (gear wireless speaker 4PR910) Bluetooth hands-free device.  Whenever the phone rings, that I always have to click 'reply' on the phone.  There is a button/function 'reply' on the hands-free device, but it will not bypass the phone setting. I would simply click on the button "answer" on the hands-free kit and do make the call.  Possible?  If so, what I'm missing/how I get there?

My hands free bluetooth works very well with his answer button. If your a does not first check the manual of the car handsfree. If it supposed to work then take it back to the store and get a replacement.

  • Sync blackBerry with Slacker Smartphones

I have a BB Curve 8330 and installed and used the mobile application of lazy for a week or two. I discovered the option to cache in station and gave it a try. The problem is after caching the station on my BB, it is not sync when I connect to the computer. I tried to launch the app synclauncher stored on the phone, but it gives an error "failed to connect: server returned 401.» Rerun the Setup program on the device. Well I installed the application twice with the same results. Mass storage mode is on. Has anyone else seen elsewhere? Thanks for all replies.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones using the 8300 BB as a PDA with Verizon

I was considering buying a BB 8330 with the express purpose to have the PDA features.  I don't want to connect to the e-mail or use the internet features.  I don't want to connect to my computer via the USB port and the calendar, phone book and contacts in my Outlook file and all of the notes that I add as I do now with an older Palm Pilot PDA.  Verizon is telling me that I need an additional data package in order to transfer data between the computer and the BB.  Is this correct?  Can I use the BB as an independent PDA service Verizon 8330?

In addition, my Palm has the ability to transfer a Wrod or computer Excell file and edit it and post it on the PDA.  The 8330 will do that?

Is a software that comes with the Smartphone needed and available to allow these functions?

Again, all I want from Verizon is the telephony service.  All this I want to do it through USB and the computer.

Your answer will determine if I buy the BBs as Christmas gifts for my wife and myself or stick with my old phone and get a new PDA to stand alone.  Thank you for your help in making this decision.

    Harold

But not what I wanted to hear, he confirmed my question.  The real loss here is BlackBerry with a customer lost through Verizon.  I can not afford any additional service and will not pay use features that should not even involve the telephone operator.

Thank you all for your answers.

  • Smartphones with Verizon blackBerry torch

I have a blackberry "BOLD", but I really want the torch. However, my career is Verizon. I wonder if I can buy the torch at a place like Walmart or where ever else they are sold and then use with Verizon. Or is it impossible? Should I move to AT & T to get the torch?

No, sorry, the Torch 9800 has not the CDMA network that uses Verizon.

You can use the torch on ATT or Tmobile, and a few small businesses of GSM in the United States, but not on Verizon or Sprint.

  • BlackBerry Q10 can make a unlocked Blackberry works with Verizon?

I have a Q10, and I'm at the end of my contract. Verizon does not have a model I want. Also, they do not support the phone at the local level, but I have to stay with Verizon for the reception where I operate. I can slip my Sim Card into something like a passport and use it on Verizon?

Hello and welcome to the community!

You should consider the different models and submodels (for example, there are 4 variations of the Z10) to determine the characteristics of radio frequency technology / device. Then you must watch the carrier you want to operate on and determine if your specific device is compatible with their network or not. For example, if you choose a device variant which is not a CDMA radio inside, then it is impossible to use it on a CDMA support. Similarly the LTE and the support of the frequency bands. Your device must be compatible with your operator, otherwise the function is impossible.

Here is a sample of some resources that may be useful for you:

I am sure that, with a little digging, you will find resources that suit your specific needs.

In addition, often with CDMA carriers that go beyond simply to accept the SIM card inside a compatible device. Often, the CDMA carriers insist on a deeper inscription to their network, they do. And so, if they say 'no' to the device that you want to use (even if it is compatible), then there is no way to get around that. Some carriers do not allow the BYOD (bring your own device).

Basically, if I were you I talk to my carrier and see what they allow.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones want to use old BlackBerry with wifi only

I want to give my daughter an old Verizon BlackBerry Curve 8530 to use as a device with wifi, gmail/cat-only.  It is not active with Verizon (meaning that it has long - since been disabled and is not a phone number that are associated with him).

I have trouble getting the job data.  I joined the wifi network but I can not open a Web page or gmail.  I played with all the settings of network, but found no solution.

    Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to the community!

I can't say what OS you're on, but if I remember correctly the last OS for this model was the one where there was no possibility to make it work on WiFi only. These levels of devices/OS required an active subscription from a company to a data plan BB in order to use all services, even via WiFi only.

I know that's what you were eager to learn, but it is what it is.

    Good luck!

  • Smartphones blackBerry with Blackberry ID problems

I deleted my Blackberry ID by clicking on the link provided in the confirmation email that I received when I first created it. Now when I want to check my account or put in another SIM, he still asks me to connect, but I don't know my password longer (am now at 6 out of 10 attempts). At the same time, when I click on the option 'forgot password' it tells me to make sure that my BlackBerry ID enabled one I typed the right e-mail address? !!!

How I can ged rid of it all? I don't need a Blackberry ID and want to just my phone as it was before I created this account in the first place. Help, please

Yes, a wipe will delete all user data and perhaps all the 3rd party apps... see these for reference:

    • KB26694 How to change the ID BlackBerry PlayBook, BlackBerry tablet or a smartphone BlackBerry with BlackBerry 7
    • KB16307 Actions performed by the BlackBerry smartphone during the removal of the user stored and application data

If you use your BB (I'm not on this point), you can make a backup of your data first with Desktop software and then restore after completing the BB ID wipe and other things..., it would be better to wait the restoration before know of things work well, just in case where:

You should also probably do a selective restore rather than a wholesale restoration... just to be sure restore you only the data items that are important (e.g., contacts, calendar, etc.) and not on the databases that could be problematic if restored:

    • KB03974 List of database for the blackBerry smartphone

In addition, it would be a good idea to use a desktop app Organizer for your data, rather than having your BB as the "main source". With a compatible organiser, you can synchronize between your PC and your BB all these data, which then allows you to forward to your full size PC monitor/keyboard/mouse to actually work with the data:

    • KB12268 BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows supported for synchronization applications
    • KB03315 How to synchronize Organizer data (calendar, to-do list, memo list and list of contacts) using the BlackBerry Desktop Software
    • KB19148 How to synchronize Organizer data in Microsoft Office for Mac between the phone smart BlackBerry and your Mac using BlackBerry Desktop Software

I know I'm throwing a lot to you, but, well... I want to make sure that you are getting the most out of your BB you can, as well as the protection of your data at the same time. Oh Yes... which reminds me... don't forget to activate the app BB Protect free once you have everything... He's going to save your data in the cloud as an extra measure of data protection. It will also help in the case of loss or theft.

  • BlackBerry smartphones enter the username associated with this smartphone

When I login with my ID blackberry an apper message telling to enter the user name associated with this smartphone

    Please help me

In fact, it is not likely to help... to refer:

    • KB28429 "Please enter the username associated with this smartphone" appears by connecting to BlackBerry App World with a BlackBerry ID using a smartphone BlackBerry 7

To paraphrase, what this means is that there is already a BB ID associated with this BB, and there is only one way to change the association ID BB to BB:

    • KB26694 How to change the BlackBerry ID on a BlackBerry smartphone or BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet

Whereas a WIPE seems drastic, it is nevertheless the only way to change the ID of BB BB is associated.

  • Sync of Smartphones blackBerry with vista calendar and address book

Hi, I am new to the Blackberry curve 8310 and Windows Vista.  I can't get my info from my Blackberry to engage contacts and the timing of Vista because it is not recognized by Blackberry.  Any suggestions are appreciated!

Hello. I am afraid that I did not understand all options regarding the synchronization of my 8310 with Vista calendar still; However, I had success sync my Blackberry with Contacts in Windows Vista, the other day.  After you load the Blackberry Desktop Software, go and click on synchronize, and then click the Configuration tab.  On this tab, click on the button "configure Synch... ».  This brings you to a screen that allows you to choose which office program you want to use to synchronize your info.  Select address book and then click on the "Settings" button... ».  Select Microsoft Outlook Express and click on "next >".  Select what kind of synchronization that you want to perform (if you want a clock 2 channels or just for the synchronization from your phone to the computer or the computer to the phone) and click on "next >", and then finish.  Go out and return to the Configuration tab, click the Sync tab and tap sync now.  Even if you have selected Microsoft Outlook Express for synchronization, to synchronize automatically with Windows Contacts for Vista.  (Or at least mine did).  I hope this helps!

  • BlackBerry Torch 9860 smartphones does not connect with the pc via the USB port.

We have a new Torch 9860 which does not connect with a PC via the USB port.  What should do?

    SlaKir wrote:

    The answer is YES

Well, then your USB port is likely.

Restart the PC and BlackBerry (with smart BlackBerry power onthe phone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart).

Then, connect with the USB cable and a rear main USB port at the back of the PC, not a front USB port.

Hear a ringing or sound from the PC indicating that the BlackBerry is connected?

Start the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software. Give it a minute to recognize the connected BlackBerry device... you see the code PIN of BlackBerry on the PC in the BlackBerry Desktop software?
