  • BlackBerry Z10 video BBM for unlimited plans, AT & T

    I'm sure that this topic is here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. (Please direct me there, if so)

    So, it doesn't seem to be consensus on who this works for and who is not as shown here:

    http://forums.CrackBerry.com/BlackBerry-Z10-F254/t-blocking-BBM-video-voice-over-mobile-networks-905...

    But here's my question. I have an unlimited plan excluded on AT & T.  But I can not activate video calls through BBM surveys. It works fine on WiFi but not on the network. If I try, I get a message that reads "contact AT & T to activate. And, on the settings tab in BBM, the cursor "Allow calls from BBM on Mobile Networks" is grey.

    Thus, after contacting AT & T, they told me similar things to what is mentioned in the announcement of Crackberry - that I have a tiered plan or shared use Videotelephony.  My questions are the following:

    -is that someone here with an unlimited plan from AT & T be able to use video calls when not on WiFi?

    -does anyone know IF you use file manager or something sideloaded it you to get around the restriction?

    -are there someone who has an unlimited plan with AT & T AND has updated for Mac OS 10.2 with Knowyou or something, which is able to use the BBM video on the network? (EDIT: changed 10.3 to 10.2)

    Well, well, well. Just as I was trying to tell the idiots with AT & T technical support I talked with, before the problem was with them all along - not with my plan.

    So, if someone follows this and wants to update...

    Short version:

    If you have an unlimited plan AT & T LTE for your BlackBerry, you can ABSOLUTELY activate BBM video. I do now. If AT & T tech tells you different, they're wrong.

    Full article:

    I have an unlimited plan, my wife has a tiered data plan. Video BBM worked well on both our WiFi phones, his BBM video would work on network, but mine wouldn't.

    I started in my retail store, and the guy who usually helps me didn't know what I was doing wrong. So, we called technical support. AT & T first told me they didn't know why it wasn't, given to me to try different things, power off / on, without success.  So they sent me to the BlackBerry support.  After a few long conversations, which essentially ended with "Yes, this is not our problem, which is AT & T business."

    So, I called AT & T tech support again. They told me on the phone that I can't use this feature with unlimited and should be changed to a share of mobile or tiered data plan. I said, 'nope' and decided to cool it down and try again later.  So, then, I had an online chat with a representative of the AT & T technical support who told me the same thing. She said that the BBM video wouldn't work on unlimited and I needed to change. I told her firmly that I change my plan and my initial agreement for the unlimited understand not having the features are disabled. She told me that AT & T had the right to control their network, but that they wanted. (nice) So, I finished this cat.

    After doing some web browsing, to post here and other forums, with all sorts of mixed responses, I came across this article by the yard by Adi Robertson http://www.theverge.com/2013/5/20/4348672/att-will-allow-all-video-chat-apps-on-its-network-by-end-o...

    On a whim, I sent him, and he wrote, "Yes, uh not.» AT & T has not activated it for BlackBerry on unlimited plans. "She contacted back, then contacted his connection to AT & t. yesterday, I heard from someone at the Office AT & T President, whatever it is. Fast forward... your da! Suddenly, a technical support could enable this feature after all.

    I still have my unlimited plan and video BBM works simply great.

    Now, if only I could get AT & T for Mac OS 10.2 version...

  • Monthly data of blackBerry Z10 and call usage limit check and alert

    Hi team,

    With BBZ10 we are missing to have alert and the limit control for the use of the data and the use of the phone call.

    This seems to be a fundamental characteristic for any smartphone to live and android already supports this.

    Most of smart phones is purchased with contracts that have limited the use of the data and phone call.

    Please update if no development or a solution on this.

    Thank you

    Ravindra Dolas

    Hello ravidolas,

    Thank you for your question. You're right, that's not a feature of the BlackBerry Z10. Your mobile service provider can offer that service, then I would say that contact you them for more information. I want to thank you for your comments. We value your feedback as we work constantly on improving our products.

    Nice day.

  • BlackBerry smartphone video Call App

    A parent showed me how Tango works on his phone.  I want this app, but it is not available for the torch.  Does anyone know of another application?  I like the Tango!

    Any phone that supports video calls would have a front and a rear facing camera.  Currently, no BlackBerry phone does include such a feature, so I guess that none will support video calling.

    I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones video calls between BlackBerry or Voip calls must read more than a year a RIM does nothing about it...! Must be in bb10 correct your mistakes

    Well, I'm not a programmer, but those who are not the their: Please answer this... ?

    Why isn't their an app that can allow us to make calls voip blackberry for blackberry ok forget voip called something like Skype or facetime where to users of phones like blackberry 9900 or the 9860 can call the other times video I had the blackberry from book reading its pretty useless I never use it no cause of offence I can t Skype video calls my friends family need to have a playbook to call me ridculous if you look @ the samsung or the iphone, they all Skype for if other users don't have the same mobile phone they can even video call each other pc to phone or ipad to pc... etc.

    I posted this on your facebook wall and hope that nothing is done about it

    Blackberry question, why don't have an application like Viber or Skype where users who have blackberry as 9900 or the 9860 in which the two phones have front camera could Skype call or an application like viber in the blackberry users can call on voip... it is a reall fall in expected an app for blackberry for almost a year rang also edge to do something about IT... most users go for iphone so because of these two applications that maintains the connected in time video reall... enjoy some answer on this...

    looking forward to the bb 10 having these sucks simple features of daily use not having them so fustrating I think to spend 529 book just cause the 9900 t can support Skype and the playbook is not just the feel

    It is perhaps a question better directed to Skype and not HERE in the forums.  Skype has an application for BlackBerry, but it is only available to U.S. subscribers using Verizon.  (This information can be updated to date, it's updated information I have.)  Given that these forums are composed (not the right choice of words) of volunteers who love BlackBerry phones and not by RIM developers, your chances of getting the answer you are looking for may be thin.

    I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry Z10 rejecting calls

    Hi, I have not seen this one and apologize if I'm repeating a question... Is it possible to refuse an appeal? On the old BB, I could just press end and the ringtone would immediately stop and the call would get sent to your voicemail. Several times, I received calls on my Z10 I didn't take but could not find a way to stop the ringing instantly.

    To reject a call, instead of swipping down to answer, just quickly dragging up the call and it will ignore it and send to voicemail.

  • BlackBerry Z10 wrong Caller-ID display - right only 4 digits used to match the number-> name

    Hello

    A few days ago, I discovered a rather strange and very confusing behavior on my Z10 wrt number corresponding to stored contact (name):

    When you receive a call it should be a "reverse lookup" in the number of directory matching the name. As it seems the game name is based solely on the 4 digits to the right. This can lead to very confusing to say the least:

    You have the number + stored 43123456789 belonging to 'Smith '. When you receive a call, another number, 432838126789 + said the Z10 now displays the calling party as 'Smith' - which is defintely wrong.

    The same when you place outgoing calls: again, take the contact Smith having + 43123456789. Assume that on dialpad Z10s you enter a number, say + 43228376789 (righmost 4 digits are the same). When you have finished the call in your last call log the Z10 displays number called as 'Smith' - which is completely false.

    So here are my questions:

    • Has anyone else seen this behavior
    • No cure is known against it?

    BTW - this is happens not only on my Z10, but on each Z10 used in our society.

    Thank you very much in advance for any ideas.

    -bblacksheep

    Test the recommedationa and see if it works.

    Remove the area code of the number you are indicative and see if it suits him.

  • BlackBerry Z10 answering calls

    Hi all

    Thanks for all the support you guys give, it is much appreciated.

    I'm having trouble answering calls at times, 'down arrow' is displayed, but no matter how many times I drag it, it won't register. Now, I admit that maybe it's me but someone else has a similar problem and also, does anyone know of an app that would replace the "down arrow" with a single button?

    You can try dragging the finger from just above the arrow?

  • "The camera is in use. Close all applications using it and try again. in Blackberry Z10 when calling the camera in Blackberry 10 Cascades

    Of course, if you want to start the viewfinder with a button instead of automatically, you can create a button or action item and have this code in it:

    Button{
      onTouch:{
        supCameras = camera1.supportedCameras;

                    // Check to see if your app has access to the camera.
                    if (supCameras.length == 0 ||
                        supCameras[0] == CameraUnit.None)
                    {
                        // Report: "No camera units are accessible."
                        console.log("No camera units are accessible");
                    }
                    else if (supCameras[0] == CameraUnit.Rear ||
                               supCameras[1] == CameraUnit.Rear)
                    {
                        console.log("The rear camera unit is accessible.");
                        camera1.open(CameraUnit.Rear);
                    }
                    else if (supCameras[0] == CameraUnit.Front ||
                               supCameras[1] == CameraUnit.Front)
                    {
                        console.log("The front camera unit is accessible.");
                        camera1.open(CameraUnit.Front);
                    }
                    else
                    {
                        // Report unknown error.
                    }
      }
    }

    Make sure camera1 and supCameras are reported for your whole qml file (IE just below the Page {}). No, it's callcamera1.open (CameraUnit) wheneer you press the button. There is an application example here, even if it is done in c ++, so you will have the choice of the method you want to use!
