Block the specific IP traffic in ASA 5505
Hi, we have an ASA 5505 in transparent mode and run a web service online. However, we notice a number of attempts to intrution from China and Korea and we need to block these IP traffic can anyone help please?

If you have many of them, maybe do:
object-group network blacklist

If you want to take in scores of reputation on the outside, or the blacklist changes a lot, you might look into the Cisco ASA IPS module.
Note that fleeing bad hosts help with targeted attacks, but not with denial of service; only, he moves to point decline since the application for the firewall server, without much effect on the net on your uplink bandwidth consumption.

I'll have set up a second tunnel IPSec VPN on my Cisco ASA 5505 to another office. I was able to configure one without problem through the ASDM, but were not able to get the second.
The IPSec tunnel connects to a WRVS4400N router to the other office. I tried the debug crypto isakmp and ipsec crypto, but I get nothing. Here is the config. Something seems wrong on my end? I've also attached a screenshot of the configuration settings on the remote router.

The import of the PIX 501 config to ASA 5505
Is there something special that must occur to import a PIX 501 (IOS Version 6.3) config to an ASA 5505 appliance or is it as simple as download the config?

No, this isn't unfortunately because your pix is running 6.4 and the ASA 5505 will run a minimum of code 7.x and there were quite a few changes. Note that many existing commands would work, but some will not. Attached is a link to a doc for improving pix ASA who speaks both a manual method and an assisted version of tool -.

Changing the server IP in an ASA 5505?
Hi everyone, I know don't know anything about cisco devices. I just wanted to go on the spot. I recently did a job that has a configuration 5505 as the network gateway and a vpn for employees to work from home via the Cisco VPN remote client program. We had a main server which is the domain controller, dns, and dhcp. It was an old box 03, and I install a new 08 r2 on a different IP address box and all of the above functions migrated to it. Old server was a xxx.xxx.xxx.31, the new server xxx.xxx.xxx.6. I found the java (6.1) ASDM program and connected to the ASA, and I change.31 a.6 in as many places as I can find, however, vpn clients on the outside can connect is more to their workstations, because when I open a prompt on his computer, only IP they can ping is xxx.xxx.xxx.31, ping xxx.xxx.xxx.6, or any other address fails. I guess maybe it's in the firewall of the asa, but don't have really not ideal. At it no matter what else was I supposed to do? Somewhere I forgot? I did save for flash and reload the current, but not a physical power Reset Since I made the changes.

This new server (. 6), has he any windows firewall that might block incoming access? Well pls want to check on the server itself.
If you can always test the old server (. 31), then the configuration on the SAA does not really much matter it has been configured to allow the subnet (192.168.0.0/24).

No Internet connectivity with ASA 5505 VPN remote access

I configured ASA 5505 for remote access VPN to allow a remote user to connect to the Remote LAN officce. VPN works well, users can access Office Resource of LAN with sahred etc., but once they have connected to the VPN, they are unable to browse the internet?
Internet navigation stop working as soon as their customer VPN connect with ASA 5505 t, once they are disconnected from VPN, once again they can browse the internet.
Not ASA 5505 blocking browsing the internet for users of VPN? Is there anything else that I need congfure to ensure that VPN users can browse the internet?
I have to configure Split Tunnleing, NATing or routing for VPN users? or something else.

What you run into is a default behavior of the ASA in which she will not route traffic back on the same interface on which he arrived. So if the VPN traffic arrived on the external interface the ASA does not want to send back on the external interface for Internet access.
You have at least 2 options:
-You can configure split tunneling, as you mention, and this would surf the Internet to continue during the use of VPN.
-You can set an option on the ASA to allow traffic back on the same interface (this is sometimes called crossed). Use the command
permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

Error of customer Cisco VPN connection ASA 5505
I am unable to connect to the vpn I created on my ASA 5505 using the Cisco VPN Client on a Windows machine. The log of the vpn client and the config of the ASA 5505 is lower. Any help to solve this is appreciated.

We had this problem the phone when we lose connectivity for some reason any. Here is an example:
We have an ASA 5505 before our UC560. Power lost to ASA (power connector from main Board loose) primary did identical backup with config. The layout-design is the following:
UC560<--->ASA 5505 Cisco IAD24523<--->(provider)<---WAN(3 bonded="">---WAN(3>
After the passage of the ASAs, incoming calls have been piecemeal. I can see the traffic on the firewall when the calls log, nothing otherwise. OS on the device are:
UC560 - 15.0 XA (1r).
ASA 5505-4, 0000 38
Contacted the provider and after calls debugging support have been expire with the 408 SIP error.
Release with support from Cisco and after debugging UC is to launch the SIP 487 disconnect error.
So based on the above and the only variable being the ASA, I'm fairly certain that it is indeed the ASA. Here is the config ASA (it's pretty long, sorry):

Rookie of the ASA 5505 - cannot ping remote site or vice versa

Watching your sh crypto ipsec output... I can see packets are getting wrapped... average packets out of the peer 88.222.222.38 network and I do not see the package back from the site of the UTM 81.111.111.156 at the ASA... This means that the UTM Firewall either don't know the package or not able to get the return package... Exchange of routing is there... but you need to check LAN to another counterpart of site...
Please check the card encryption (it must match on both ends), NAT (exemption should be there @ both ends) and referral to the ends of the LAN...
I suggest you try with the crypto wthout specific port card... say source LAN to LAN with any port destination...

Here is my delima:
I'm deploying an Apple Airport Extreme BaseStation with Airport Express 7 "repeaters" throughout my network/building. Apple only allows only two wireless networks, public and private. Your selection of only can 192.168.x.x, 172.13.x.x or 10.10.x.x for each subnet. NO tagging VLAN.
It wasn't my decision... Apple CEO hs fever.
So Im stuck on how to implement this without VLAN. The comments/public subnet needs to be isolated outside access. While the private subnet requires access to both.
Any suggestion would be greatly apprecaited.
What will the Security Plus license allow me to do?
Security over the license allows the use of circuits for the ASA 5505. It also increases the maximum number of VLANS configurable at 20. Allows active failover / standby and increases the number of authorized IPsec VPN tunnels.
The problem with the basic license is that you can have 3 VLAN configured and the 3rd VLAN is a VLAN 'restricted '. This means that you can not pass traffic to or from inside VLAN on the 3rd VLAN (or DMZ VLAN if you prefer to call it that.) So this VLAN DMZ won't be able to communicate with the internet.
So, if your private wireless network and the local network will be on the same subnet your public wireless network can be in VLAN 3. If this isn't the case, you will need to get the security over the license.

I see the acl sheep in the wrong way. I mean 192.168.254 are your pool VPN and 192.168.1.0 your local LAN.
The acl must be:
sheep - in extended access-list permit ip 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.254.0 255.255.255.0
For nat (inside), you have 2 lines:
NAT (inside) 1 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 ==> it is redundant as the 1 below does the same thing with more networks if there is inside side. You can delete it.
NAT (inside) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0Why are you doing this nat (outside)?

Do you know why he needs the IP address (such as a transparent firewall)?
The ASA will act as a transparent layer 2 on the right device to the network, but what happens when the ASA does not have a particular destination mac address... What would be the source ip address of the package? Ip address of the ASA. So that's the main reason why we need that.
We use it also for traffic management and for AAA services (if authentication is used the ASA will send the AAA authentication request to the server) with the IP address of this source.

ASA 5505 VPN works great but can't access internet via the tunnel to customers
We have an ASA 5505 ASA 8.2.1 running and using IPSec for Remote access clients in the main office. Remote access is a lot of work, with full access to network resources in the main office and the only thing I can't get to work is access to internet through the tunnel. I don't want to use split tunneling. I use ASDM 6.2.1 for configuration. Any help is appreciated. I'm probably missing something simple and it looked so much, I'm probably looking at right beyond the error. Thanks in advance for your time and help! Jim

Hello
I'll put up a tunnel vpn site-to-site between two locations. Both have cisco ASA 5505 running a different version, I'll explain in more detail below. so far, I was able to get the tunnel to come but I can't seem to pass traffic, I work at this for days now and have not been able to understand why he will not pass traffic. Needless to say that the customer's PO would be on the fact that their VPN is not upward and they had to do by hand. I'll put the configs below, if possible can someone help me as soon as POSSIBLE, I really want to get this site up and running so that we do not lose the customer.

Okay, I was not quite correct in my first post.
These modules - modules only available for corresponding models of ASA.
They all can act as IPS (inline mode) or IDS ("Promiscuous" mode), depending on how you configure your policies.
When acting as IPS, ASA redirects all traffic through the module, then all the traffic is inspected and can be dropped inline if a signature is triggered.
When she acts as an ID, ASA a few exemplary traffic is the module for inspection, but the actual traffic is not affected by the module, as it's not inline in this case.
In addition, these modules can be both comdination. That is part of the traffic can be inspected "inline", when some other (more sensitive) traffic can be inspected in promiscuous mode.

Firstly, the route you created is false. It should be a default route that points to a destination 'ANY' and 'ANY' destination mask. For example, Road outside 0 62.28.190.65 0.
Second, you don't have politically at the moment because there is a map of default policy already configured with the most important protocols. As a result, ICMP is inspected by default.
In the third place, to test the traffic between hosts no ICMP routers. Maybe the ISP router blocking an incoming ICMP packets to itself. This means that you will need to create an ACL that applies to the ISP router to allow ICMP to himself. Then, to save all these hassle, just add two hosts as mentioned.
If you insist on working with routers, do a trace of package for me as shown below:
