Bookmarking without popup "continue where you stopped last time.

Hey,.

I've been searching the forums and play with Captivate for a few days to try to find a solution to my problem, but I'm not come with all of the relevant answers.

I am very little inspired by the look of the Captivate default dialogue window that appears when I return to a lesson. Is the one who asks to "continue where you stopped last time.

I have seen proposals on how to change the captions and the colors, but I can't find a way to simply turn it off and do the lesson taken from the place where the user left off. I tried to turn off autocontrolee learning, but this disables bookmarking all together.

I use the latest version of Captivate 9.

Any help would be grateful.

Thank you

Guy

They will access via an LMS System. After many hours messing around I think the only options available for me should use the TOC frame that comes with the annoying dialog box, or do not use the table of contents and this should enable the LMS to manipulate the bookmarking and auto recovery here where the user left off.

Is that what everybody is watching?

No - this isn't what he does this last link doc treats:

For each line, ORA_ROWSCN returns the number of change of system (SNA) conservative upper limit of the most recent change to the line.

The line I've updated, have the same time other stamps. Why?

The default is to BLOCK, not the level of the line level - there is only ONE value for the block. If a block contains 100 lines, they appear to have the same value, the value for the block.

For tables defined with ROWDEPENDENCIES values are actually stored for each line.

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  • Stop a video of quiz and then have it remember where you left it when you restart

Is it possible for a user with videos of a quiz on LMS, start a video, pause, or stop, she and then return to the video at a later date and it resumes where it left off?

I don't think so... I can't see even a way to stop a video and then open it again and have me remember where I left, so I don't think it will work that way in LMS.

    More details:

The video is about 100 slides and 10 quiz. The user must achieve 80% to pass this course. If the user connects to PeopleSoft, gets the list of course, concludes this particular course and starts the application. It takes about 30 minutes to complete this course. BUT after about 10 minutes, the user is called away.

What society would like to happen... when the user is called away, perahps they stop the video, sign out of PeopleSoft. It could be hours or it could be another day before the user returns in PeopleSoft, concludes the course and... when the course opens, he remembers that the user left on Blade X, possibly already answered x number of questions, and now it picks up right where it left off.

I've not found an option for this, and I was not able to make it work when I have a stand-alone project. But... I thought I'd ask anyway.

    Any suggestion?

    Thanks for any help.

    Bernice

Bérénice, what you ask is called BOOKMARKING and this is a feature common to many e-learning courses.  What happens under the hood is that the lesson of Captivate sends (known as resume data) data for the LMS of bookmark which slide in the quiz that the user got up to.  If the LMS supports this feature (most, but some do not, or do not do very well) then it records the information so that if the person taking the course ends their session and later returned to the same module, the LMS will fuel the bookmarking data back to the lesson, he throws, and the lesson is supposed to go directly to the slide where the user has left the last time.

That's what's SUPPOSED to happen.  Whether or not it works as expected is another matter.  There are many potential problems.

If you want to see if your LMS supports this feature, you just need to make sure that the checkbox to never send the CV data in the dialog box customization of LMS is left UNTICKED.

Then republish your courses SCORM, reupload to your LMS and test it by starting a lesson, close and restart again.

I use this feature for years and update Firefox/Aurora in the next few days, maybe a week, an update becomes available and everything suddenly ' show my windows and tabs from last time ' has stopped working. I can go to the Tools-Option-general tab and change "at Aurora startup:" to this option, or 'Show my home page (s)' and now the opening in a new tab single even though I have URLs there. This may mean that this bit is not read correctly. I'm not playing: config, but I watch a few spoken options in the Web and everything looked OK.

I would uninstall and reinstall it if you think it will solve the problem. I updated Aurora again because this problem started and it remains broken. It is a system of XP with SP3
