Bootcamp on end 2011 17-inch MacBook Pro

Hi all

I have a 17-inch, late 2011 Macbook Pro and tried to install Windows (8.1 or 10) but the video and audio drivers (Bootcamp 5.1.5621) do not work. I had to disable the driver Intel HD 3000 completely and the remaining Rageon of AMD HD 6770 m doesn't seem to work properly (Device Manager has marked with an exclamation point). The sound card drivers (Realtek, I think) will not work. What I don't understand is why there should be any problems if you use the drivers supplied officially by Apple, because they have been there for a while now.

Anyone with similar problems? Solutions?

You use BC Assistant and physics DVD installation without manual interruption to run?

  • These SSD options would be compatible with my Early 2011 13 inch Macbook pro?

    Hello

My mac I'm really slow so I decided to buy an SSD, but I can't be sure if it is compatible with my mac. SSDS are super expensive in my country, I just have to be sure before buying.

    TECHNICAL DATA:

Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5

    RAM: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 3000

    13-inch, early 2011

    My SSD options:

    MX300 crucial 250 GB

    Samsung 750 EVO 250 GB

    Samsung 750 EVO 120 GB

    Thank you.

If you want a definitive answer, contact the technical support from the manufacturer.  The general rule is, if the SSD is identical to a HARD SATA 2.5 form factor ", it will work in your MBP.

    Ciao.

https://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro-videoissues/ - Apple has determined that a small percentage of the MacBook Pro systems may show the distorted video, no video or unexpected system restarts. These MacBook Pro systems have been sold between February 2011 and December 2013.

I have a model end of 2013 13 MacBook Pro with 4 GB or RAM retina and think to upgrade to El Capitan. Is this enough RAM

Of course you can upgrade to El Capitan. But I think better if you can change the internal hard drive (SATA drive) in the SSD drive. You will get better results, faster than still, you only have 4 GB. This is mine... MacBook pro in early 2011.

  • Is it possible to upgrade the trackpad in my mid-2012 13-inch MacBook Pro to the touchpad by force?

I would add the 3D button or touchpad of my mid-2012 13-inch Macbook Pro. I know that you can upgrade from things such as the hard drive and ram. But I can do the same thing with the trackpad?

No, but the new version of the external trackpad is designed for ElCapitan, it can be used.  New version of the external wireless keyboard works also with ElCapitan.

Just, don't wait these external devices to work at lowest ElCapitan.

  • 13-inch or 15-inch Macbook Pro?

Hello, I am currently in high school and I'm looking for a laptop to use for the class as well as in college. I'm in a film class where I edit videos quite frequently and plan to study film at the College as well. I would especially use it publishing, web and maybe some light games here and there. Low intensity after effects rendering, etc., but I can do some in the future. I am deciding between the top model 13 inch with 16 GB of ram upgrade, or the base model 15 inch. I know the 15-inch is more powerful, but the RAM would improve in the 13-inch enough to compensate for? I love the small 13-inch form factor and fear that the 15 inches may be too big to use at school and in public places. Which would be best for me? Thank you!

  • End of 2013 SSD Macbook Pro has failed

The SSD in my end 2013 13 "retina MBP failed, leaving me with a very nice and completely unnecessary aluminium piece.

The genius bar appointment confirmed the failure by saying that it was obviously a defective component, but that my only option was an Apple Service / repair costs £526 + VAT.

Someone else has met a failure of this type in the same model of MBP?

This would be a general problem with the SSD components used in this edition of the MBP that is similar to the issue of MB Air?

I'm obviously gutted by the failure and lack of options and cost of repair in this case adds insult to injury.

Apple has lost a long-term MBP owner / client.

    Stephen...

You may be eligible for a reminder, but you will need to check with the Apple support.   Read this article, and then Google ' Macbook pro / ssd reminds "."   You will find several references.

  • Problem using Bootcamp to install Windows 8.1 MacBook Pro

    Hello

I have a MacBook Pro (retina, mid-2012) running OS X El Capitan v10.11.1. About two years ago, I installed Windows 8.1 using boot camp with no problems. Since then, I upgraded HDD from the laptop of the original 500 GB SSD to a Transcend JetDrive 725 960 GB SATA III. Note, this is the only upgrade material I have made to the computer. Following this hardware upgrade that I decided to only restore my Macintosh HD, or unfortunately I will not restore the Bootcamp partition.

I am now trying to install Windows 8.1 using training camp again, but unfortunately a few problems that prevent quick installation, I've experienced in the past. I have read this problem a lot but have not found a solution that works for me. Here are the steps that I've repeated several times:

-Download an ISO of 64 bit Windows 8.1 since: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows8ISO.

-Connect Force SanDisk Cruzer 8 GB USB 2.0 support

    -run Assistant Boot Camp

-check all the tasks and continue

    -create a 60 GB partition

-computer restarts automatically, and a windows setup screen

-Enter the serial number of the product

-Select installation upgrade, see here: http://s20.postimg.org/t7wy0siod/Photo_07_12_2015_12_16_23.jpg

-PROBLEM: I am told that the installation cannot complete, see here: http://s20.postimg.org/day642qa5/Photo_07_12_2015_12_16_31.jpg

I repeated this a few times with several USB 2.0 flash drives, but with the same results. I also tried selecting ' Custom: install Windows only (Advanced) ", but the next screen does not allow installation on the bootcamp partition, see here: http://s20.postimg.org/3mkq0xvgt/Photo_07_12_2015_12_15_09.jpgand here: http://s20.postimg.org/5pv58lv9p/Photo_07_12_2015_12_15_00.jpg "

I would be grateful if someone could please help with this problem.

    Thank you

    Al

It is the expected behavior. OS X does not have a license for the creation of NTFS. It creates a FAT partition. After the error, select the Format for only the partition named Bootcamp (do not use another partition) and let the installer to format it to NTFS and continue the installation.

Upgrade will not work, because there is no previous installation of Windows to upgrade. You see the error message is correct.

  • 15 - inch MacBook Pro or iMac?

Hi, I bought a new MacBook Pro a few months back for use with logic, I also bought a 27 "Thunderbolt display.

Now I'm worried if I should have opted for the maxed on high spec iMac 27 with 32 GB of RAM?

I will have no problem, but I recorded only 2 or 3 titles on the projects, I'll again start projects in the next few months, about 50 titles + plugins.

My MBP is going to be good enough?   or should I get the iMac maxed out?

    My MBP is

    15 "retina

2.8 GHz Quad - core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 4.0 GHz

    • 16 GB 1600 MHz SDRAM DDR3L
    • 512 flash storage

The iMac has bus data faster and better GPU, so it will be better than the MBP.  Also, you want to get a USB 3.0 external drive to keep all your media and project files, don't run them from the system drive.  The external drive must be also 7200 RPM, not slower.   If you do a lot of major projects, consider a RAID Thunderbolt (4 drives, 7200 RPM). Desktop always surpass laptops.

  • My batteries end of 2013 of MacBook Pro drain mode retina 'sleep'

    Hello!

I have a MacBook Pro late 2013 who recently (I think after the El Captain update that came before the last) began to seriously empty battery 'sleep'. (20% / day compared to the usual 1-2% / day.)

I went through a few logical steps:

    • I turned off all applications before entering the mode 'sleep'
    • check whether if it is completely off, should it still power loss? N °
    • I checked the settings to save energy, nothing prevents that my Macbook to sleep, NAP is off.

What I noticed: if I did not open my MacBook Pro for days, before he had another screen to start (I had to type my password twice, but now only once).

This has led to an assumption: because something prevents my MacBook to enter standby after a certain time?

I can't find anything in the settings that affect it.

    What could go wrong?

    Thank you

    Gabor

    Uninstall this software:

    Sophos AV

    GitHub and OSXFuse

    Carabiner

    CREDANT shield/Crypto

    SektionEins driver and SUIDGrardNG

One or more are at the origin of the crash. Start by removing Sophos. Since the graphics family is one of the problems, don't forget to remove anything you have installed which would be new for your use of the GPU.

Be sure to use any uninstaller provided with the software. Something that comes with an uninstaller uninstall not manually.
