  I use Alt + Tab to scroll through my open applications. I'm used to seeing a line (or more) of thumbnails.  The emphasis shifts whenever I press Tab and the system displays the full screen of the last selected application when I release ALT.

  Recently changed behavior: as soon as the focus remains on a tile for more than one second, it shows the full screen of this request.  I can carry the bike through the applications, but now I see the full screens instead of the thumbnails.
  I am running Windows 7 Ultimate on a laptop Acer TravelMate.

  I always thought that what you describe is the default behavior in Windows 7, but you might get what you want by using the alternative

  It's really a question of two parts:

  Application 1: version of Office Internet Explore (1 or more tablets, 1 or more windows).

  Application 2: steam (steam main window, steam client chat [optionally]).

  When alt tabbing in IE-> steam works as expected.

  However, when alt tab in the main window of steam is to the last position right before the "desktop" and not the first. Pretty frustrating.

  If you open the main window and instant messaging client this does not happen on the steam chat client - sometimes, othertimes it does.

  It appears when the steam main window is closed and then reopened, sometimes both - but if the main window is opened first, then the IM client, it won't happen on the instant messaging client.

  Seems pretty random when it happens and if you open another application the problem disappears for a while - generally I see when opening of Netflix, steam + chat client and no other applications.

  Has anyone else seen similar behavior or found a potential solution?

  In addition, in win 7 there was no way to leave native alt tab features and just delete the entry "desktop" in the alt tab / windows tab (except the key "reg" to return to the menu older alt - tab style).

  It is not that it can remove all leaving the normal alt tab win 8? That admission has always been a very great pain, esp since you can simply mouse over the lower right or use win + M to get the same results.

  I'm wondering for months why Steam was having this behavior, yet no one I talked to that had the same problem. Thank you for alerting me to the fact that it is a modern application problem. I'm usually the Mail app open in the background, so I always had this Alt + Tab behavior for a long time and thought it was quite a problem for Steam client.

  I didn't Power Toy did this, but they were parallel projects by programmers bored (literally), so the company never officially it will use in production code.

  I just realized something however: If you just click on the thing you want to change anyway, why not simply click on the button in the taskbar? Just a random thought, although I suppose that if the program has more than one window/tab open, you then have to point-and - click.  Or you might disable combining the taskbar, but personally I don't like myself.
  With performance improvements and reliability gained by Aero (as well as other features like live and other preview), I would say that if you are looking for a style of eye candy than simply disable transparency and see how it works for you.
  @ jesuscheung - I think that it is possible to display a classic style using the DWM rendering engine, but since there is no default theme that looks like this, you can use StarDock WindowBlinds (or a similar application) who can apply skins.

  what I really want, it's a last tab function if you press several times simply would take you back and forth between the last two tabs.   I suppose you could get around having only two desired tabs open in the window of the browser or by having two browser windows open every page necessary, but it is this rooted function (alt - tab in windows goes directly between your last two open applications, regardless of how you opened) that it just seems very natural to want to so the tabs of the browser to only go back between the last two.

  really think that this should be developed... seems simple (to a POV without instruction) and serves a specific purpose.

• Change the tab behavior and bookmark?

  (Since Opera gave up on their great browser and to focus on a clone of poor chrome, Mozilla have become my choice. There are a few trouble if.)

  A few artifacts display can be caused by the display driver incompatibilities. Try to disable the use of Firefox graphics acceleration hardware.

  You need to restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

  Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Options > advanced

  In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

  If you restart Firefox, the problem is solved?

  I don't want to download an application. I would rather add a new string in any config or just change those there to false. It makes my life as a rather hard work, to be forced to go all the way back at the end of my list after you move a tab just to have to do it again. I mean it's to the point where I could consider changing browsers if they had tab scrollbars.

  I've updated to 11.0, windows vista. I have not noticed or I have this problem before the update. for example if I have firefox open and click on my calculator, the only way that I see it's to minimize firefox. I can't alt - tab to it nor can I click the icon in my status bar of windows. ???
  I looked in the settings, I saw an option always at the top of the page, but that's what it looks like.

  Make sure that you run not Firefox mode full screen (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Ctrl + Shift + F).

  have defined startpage.com as default search engine. ERROR: When I enter the words to search for in the address bar and press alt + tab, opens google (same page) instead of startpage.
  GOOD: When I go to search for in the search bar at the top right press on enter, it opens the home page on the same page.
  GOOD: When I enter the search in the top search bar to the right OR in the address bar and press alt + tab, opens startpage in a new tab.

  I have what I think, it's a mouse Toshiba PA3706E (it's the one in the picture below)

  It has a small button of Alt + Tab at the worst place in the fact that it could be, and I was wondering if anyone knows a way to disable? I installed the thing that comes with it to change the functions of the buttons, but for some reason, it is the only button you cannot not change or not. The only option for the Application Switch button is Alt + Tab.

  I have a problem with my Qosmio x 870 and drivers touchpad Synaptics on Win7 64 bit.
  They do not drag-and - drop between applications.
  As soon as I press Alt - Tab, all by dragging a file to switch to one another application, dragging instantly stops.

  I tried to install the generic Synaptics drivers and they do not have such a problem.
  With them, everything works very well with drag and drop.
  However, their implementation of two fingers to scroll is really buggy and more than half the time it does not work so I can't use them.

  Does anyone know if this bug and when?

  Control Panel-> mouse-> advanced-> Advanced Settings tab
