Brand-pages do not open in new tabs. Why is this?
I had to clean up Firefox as it kept crashing. Since then he opens not favourites in new tabs: it simply replaces the page I look at. I would like to be able to open several pages, but I tried everything in the troubleshooting pages and nothing has worked.
Using the click wheel works on the menu bar and address bar, but there is no way to just open a new window with the plus sign that says Open a new tab. So what's this button for?

cannot display the thumbnails tab or to get rid of the page "you have opened a new tab".
I get this(see pic) when I open a new tab, I solved this problem before, but I forgot how I did the last time.
I tried clicking on the "don't show me this page again.
What is a crunch the words more near getter.
tried the zoom out without result
then I tried to go into everything: config and permutation of the browser.newtab.url in about: newtab just to see that it was still defined as about: newtab.
How can I get rid of that? Unable to see thumbnails is kind of annoying.I never have this page soon. Looks like a malicious extension for me.
Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:
- Click the menu button
click Help
then select restart with disabled modules.
If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:
- On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
- On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
- On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."
If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.
To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

New tab does not work - could not open a new tab
I can not open a new tab, using OSX 10.9.4 and 31.0 Firefox. I tried the '+' and the key combination. Thank you-
Many users have discovered that this problem (in Firefox 30 and more) is caused by led modules, for example a plugin Conduit and/or an extension "Community Toolbar.
You can check and disable the extensions on page modules. Either:
- Command + shift + a
- "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, when in doubt, turn off.
Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.
What helps with the button "+"? If so, you can name the specific extension that caused the problem?
You can also see the Plugins page modules. You can never use 'activate' to disable plugins that you do not usually use.

CTRL-T and add a tab to the right of the tab button does not open a new tab
Firefox worked fine and then both the Ctrl-T and add a new tab will not open a new tab. New tabs can be opened by a link.
Make a check of malware with some scan of malware programs.
You need to scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.

Could not open a new tab should get a link and open it in a new tab.
I can not open a new tab, or by clicking on the button in the toolbar, go to the file/open new tab or CTRL T. I think that this has happened after I've upgraded to the latest version of Firefox. The only way I can get a new tab is to click on a bookmark or a link, right click and select open in a new tab. Very frustrating.

Hi Zion,
It is the default behavior of Firefox. There are a lot of large modules that will allow you to customize the new tab page. Take a look at the Knowledge Base article, find and install add-ons to add functionality to Firefox. It will show you how to find and manage the Add-ons of Firefox.
Hope this helps!

ctrl-t, ctrl-n in some sites do not open a new tab/window. example: youtube
On some sites (not only a c0uple but many) when I press ctrl-t to open a new tab, nothing happens. Ditto with ctrl-n. Using the file menu works fine but not the keys shortcut. On most pages, they work very well: your "of troubleshooting information" page it works fine. I can't understand any model. The option is set to open a new window in a new tab, and it works fine. It seems to be the access key. I just upgraded to the beta version of Firefox 6, but it was the same with the latest versions of several that I used.
Click outside the video area to give back the control keyboard for Firefox. Click inside to give it back to Flash. As the link above shows, it is a matter of olllllllllllld which will probably never be repaired.

Firefox does not open a new tab
Firefox has stopped to let me open a new tab. If I click on the sign more, press Ctrl-T, or go to file > new tab, nothing happens. The only way that will open a new tab is if I click on a link in an email, it opens the link in a new tab. I use tabs frequently and it is very annoying to have to go get an email with a link just so I can open a tab. It doesn't matter if I only have a single or several tabs open. I have not installed another thing that Firefox and Windows updates (I have Windows 7). I am running Firefox 24.0 but the problem started with the earlier version.
Try Firefox Safe mode to see how it works there.
A way of solving problems, which disables most of the modules.
The problems of Firefox using Firefox SafeMode- You can open the mode without failure of Firefox 15.0 + by pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
- Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.
To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox (without the Shift key) to open it again.
If it's good in Firefox Safe mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one.

Or it could be caused by hardware acceleration. When find you what is causing that, please let us know. It might help others who have this problem.
